I loved this show so much and I'm so glad it came back! I can only hope they do another season again.

I remember seeing Helen for the first time in Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Paul on My Two Dads. So many years later still incredibly talented and lovable. Have been watching the reboot and love it.

I saw the 2019 season 12 episodes. And I was searching for season 2 2020 and found out it didn't get made. My life was so involved during the nineties that I didn't get to watch any TV at all. And now I'm catching up on the '90s TV shows which I find out that I thoroughly enjoy. I'm going back now and starting season 1 of mad about you from the '90s to watch the entire series. Why you ask because the 2019 hooked me and now to get satisfied I've got to go back and watch all of these shows that I never got to see. Because when your life is revolved around being a mother a wife and a critical care nurse working ungodly hours you treasure every second with your child and your husband and it didn't involve television. Now I'm a widow enjoying the '90s that I never got to see.

I used to have to have the biggest crush on Helen Hunt back in the day....primarily with her performances of Mad About You, Twister and As Good As It Gets. But she has clearly used so much Botox in the last several years. Why not just age gracefully?

Not even Botox. It’s bad facelifts (saying as someone who trained in plastic surgery). Sad. She was so stunning as a natural beauty. The surgery seems to make her look older not younger.

This is so cute. I recently finished the original 7 seasons (but I honestly hated season 6 and I couldn't even finish season 7... I just skipped a bunch of episodes and watched the finale), and I've been debating whether or not I'll watch the revival. But seeing them together again is making me want to watch it.
What did t you like about seasons 6 and 7? I don't have access to the full seasons but I watched "The Conversation" from season 6 last night and I thought it was really really good! I'm a theatre kid though so I appreciate it when shows shake up the format
@@richarddavis8863 the main things I didn't like about seasons 6 and 7 was that the show became so much about the baby. Paul and Jamie's relationship wasn't the same. Also, Jamie became really unappreciative of Paul to the point of being mean sometimes. In season 7, the characters' flaws all seemed to be magnified and it became more "sitcom-y", if that makes sense. What I loved about the first 5 seasons of the show was that it wasn't the typical sitcom and the characters seemed more or less like real people. But in season 7, on top of the things I didn't like about season 6, the show just became more silly, and the characters more over-the-top, and just became more like a typical sitcom.
@@Krista2882 that's a solid assessment and I'll keep that in mind as I continue my watch. I remember it making me feel comfortable as a real little kid so I wanted to revisit it. It's really funny so far. I appreciate you taking the time to line out your thoughts like that, have a good one

It really saddens me to see so many naturally BEAUTIFUL Hollywood stars (Courtney Cox, Jen Aniston, Helen Hunt, etc.) do these cosmetic surgeries and become unrecognizable alien-looking beings!!! :(

Helen really was ‘hot’ in the show - such a gr8 bod - they did work excep well 2gether - didn’t think she needed to learn ‘anything’ fr Nicholson in As Good As it Gets….. Paul also often underrated - both top performers thru series 👌🏼👌🏼

The early seasons were the best-so romantic and less about 'sitcom comedy' with the moody lighting...ugh it was everything. "Love Letters" was my favorite episode.

This was a great show. Good to see them together again. Great chemistry. Side note... maybe no female directors got the nod because it just so happens there were other works that just so happen to not have female directors that were better? Just a thought.

I think she just has a face structure that is more difficult to “fix.” Some women are more angular. But why are we making comments about her face. Everyone has insecurities about their looks.....especially the disposable way in which Hollywood treats women after they aren’t 18. I think she’s lovely.
Just stop. It has nothing to do with women. When Kenny Rogers had a bad face lift just as many people commented. You can't expect people are not going to comment when she looks completely different. I'm watching the Mad about you reboot and I came here just to see what the heck was wrong w her face.

I only ask because I have in my possession a "Mad About You" Authentic Swiss Army Watch that Paul and Helen had made for the cast/crew of the show and given to them as a Christmas present in 1996. I'm a dedicated fan of the original series and I feel the reboot is a love letter to me directly. Letting know my favorite characters are still intact. It is my opinion that the writing is funny and touching from all characters. BUT Mable's character - I have to say I do not have a relationship of memory for her and I find her completely annoying( and spoiled ). I feel Jamie and Paul would not have this daughter. Can we get a re-writed for this character?

With all the UK actors and storylines here in the US. And with all the reboots of former decent show from the past. It's become obviously clear that Hollywood and the US entertainment industry has completely run out of talent, imagination and relevance.

Paul and marriage counselor some funny dialogue... most of show overreacted and not greatest dialogue. Others have commented on Helen's plastic face... at times it was pretty distorted and hard to take.

I re watched the series. It ended with Ira being married to Mary Ann with 8 kids , Paul leaving Jamie , Their Daughter being a troubled kid because of her parents. Wonder why they didn't carry all this to the new series. Ira acts Italian? Mark married to a black lady? what happened to Fran no mention of her. Their kid still sort of a troubled kid but off to college instead of a film maker.
I didn't finish, but caught that there WAS a mention of Fran (put your phone down and pay attention!). The got divorced.

Meanwhile, Hunt is a fantastic talent acting, writing and directing ... and a really nice person. She trumps you in every possible way.
@@SueHughesMichaels Unlike most women she couldn't accept the fact that she was aging and instead of taking proper care of herself on a daily basis she decided to take a shortcut and it backfired on her - now she looks like a FREAK instead of a woman who has aged gracefully like Helen Mirren
P.S. About taking care of herself, you know NOTHING about that. I have followed Hunt's career and I have never heard a SINGLE thing about her being into drugs or any other issue that would cause her looks to fade (in your opinion that is).
In contrast, another actress I liked was Linda Hamilton who actually looks older than her age. Sadly she was an admitted chain smoker which can wreak havoc on a person's face.
I think Hunt looks great, she doesn't wear much makeup but even if she got a face lift, there is ZERO evidence she "did not take care of herself". She's a surfer and I doubt involved in any hard living.

their daughter is 22 at this point of the revival.... i haven't watched the new season yet, so idk if she lived at college or at home, but if she lived at home all during college, it totally tracks that she's just moving out now at 22. Paul and Jamie weren't young when they had Mabel. Jamie turned 30 in season 2, which means she was 34 when she had Mabel at the end of season 5, and Paul mentioned being 40 in season 5.

She is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood history, winning an Oscar, multiple Emmys and Golden Globes ... and a substantive woman who can write, direct and act. Yet "you" choose to ridicule her gorgeous face. She is almost 60 for God's sake and looks great. She has a great voice, a charisma that age can't take away. She looked 25 when she was 35 -- and now her age is showing and it means NOTHING. What is important is her talent and what an incredibly nice person she is. YOU should really get a life Skippy.
