Can I give you another tip when doing this? Use a laser printer instead of an inkjet otherwise the text can be smudged if they get wet taking them to the post office or the postie delivering at the other end. I learned this through many years doing mail order this way. Keep up the videos! Love your tips.
Thanks for bringing up a good point. I've been having to sacrifice one entire sheet of sticker paper for a shipping label. I'm a brand new shop still, so I have only had to do this 3 times so far. I'm gonna try her idea, but I don't have a laser printer, just inkjet. Hopefully I can find something that wont bleed if it gets wet. My current sticker sheets do not bleed, as I just tested out thanks to your comment. I hadn't even thought about bleeding ink, so thank you!
@@SincerelyRoxy excellent point
but then you're not far off from just buying a label printer 😂
Can you just sellotape over it?
@@celtic957 Noooo, don't do that. Tape interferes with scanners at the sorting office, your parcel may get delayed
Very quick, clear and right to the point. Thank you!
Girl i literally have that printer as well this was so helpful
Really clever!!! Thank you for sharing!
Love that! I’ve never seen this trick before.
It's not even that thermal printers are expensive, which they kind of are, but my issue was that even with the highest end thermal printers, scanners struggled to recognize the QR codes and barcode, those printers are challenging to setup, and ur day could easily go south if the shipping label you're attempting to print is not that of a common platform such as DHL or UPS etc..
Since i've been using my local shipping carriers, i've had to undergo extra steps for no reason. That said though there are some 300DPI thermal printers out there, they are pricy but i haven't used one myself but i've heard nice things about them.
Back to regular ink printers i went, rendering my thermal label printer useless. If there's one advice i can give, is to do a lot of digging about thermal printers before checking out that cart thinking it would solve all your issues.
Thermal printers are dirt cheap, the secret is to buy them used. Those things last ages anyways.
I just read that maybe using an inkjet printer, if it gets wet, the ink will smear and become illegible. So I plan to use clear tape over the labels which should still scan ok.
hey does it work by putting transparent tape over them?
@@rewindsanity Yes, using clear tape works fine when it's scanned.
They're harder to scan so you risk packages getting delayed or lost. Don't put tape on the barcode and you should be fine.
@@Sulfen Thanks, I also heard that before I started, been doing this for about a year without having any parcels going missing or scanning issues, but yeah a thing you can do is clear tape the rest of the label and leave the barcode area open if you're worried about clear taping the whole label.
Great idea, but would it be cheaper in the long run to invest in a thermal label printer than forking out £40-£60 a month on ink cartridges? Many thanks!
This video is for new small business owners who are starting out. If you're getting lots of orders and printing 100s of labels every month then yes... a thermal label printer is well worth the investment.
How about a laser printer instead because you get several uses in 1
I think she's from Tennessee, talks kinda funny? Thanks for the video
Thank you!
This is awesome thank you
Thankyou for such a great video.
What printer do we need for it.
Some label paper can be expensive so you can just use normal A4 paper then cut it out and use super glue and tape to put it down
Absolutely if you're looking for an even cheaper method you can do this with normal paper and tape too. I personally like and need the speed of sticky labels when I have a lot of orders 😃
Okay!! I think label paper is a good option, as I just started I found a 20 pack for a reasonable price ty!!
Silly question.. how do you receive the printing label?
I mean, who makes the postage bacode and address?
This was so helpful..thank u! : )
Thank you for sharing your tips. May I ask what printer you have? Thank you
Thank you so much ❤
I’m still having issues getting it to print correctly.. first time it printed on the wrong side second time it was way too small and didn’t fit in the right spot haha
How do you make Etsy put them all in one print job? I can only print two per page and I have to flip the page every time to have both printed on the same one. Then I have to use a cutter to make the label fit the envelope.
Hi, comment back if you still need help with this
Thank you!!!!
I literally couldn’t do this! 😂
Thanks so much for the information.
If I could put my hand’s through this RUclips channel and hug you I would!! THANK YOU!! And my you get everything you want for the rest of the year and 2024!!!
Perfect !!
smart! thank you!
What if you don't have a label printer? What do you do then?
thank you
Helpful

Which printer you use for printing receipt
Cannon pixma Series she is using
I must have a printer that does not give me the same options as yours does
Hi!
Thank you so much this was really helpful but can I ask a question.
Do you have have an account with Royal Mail or if you do this can you go down
To the post office and send it of?
No need to have a business account with Royal Mail for this. You can either put them straight into a post box or take them to a post office to be scanned etc.
How to pay the label? Does it goes too to the tax payments that we pay each month ?
Paying for shipping labels will depend on what shipping service you're using. On Etsy, they take it out of your payment account or if that's empty, they charge the payment type (e.g. bank account, card etc) in your account.
No one has printers at there home anymore with ink cartridges right ?
But how do you get the labels from Etsy, that is the bit I wanted to know?
I have another video tutorial on my channel for 'how to buy Etsy shipping labels.' Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/bZJF1VNcHK8/видео.html
hello, I was wondering if it's okay to paste a shipping label on a regular envelope. It's my first time doing this. Etsy is withholding money from me because i have not been making tracking available for my orders (stickers).
Absolutely. Shipping labels can be stuck on any packaging because you pay based on the size, weight etc :-)
Nice but a normal printer is just as expensive as a thermal label printer.
Where can I buy the labels
I've bought mine from eBay or Amazon 😃
@@creativesmallbusinessclub this is for the e.g. Royal Mail label?
I buy my shipping labels through Etsy for Etsy orders and Royal Mail Click and Drop for website orders
How on earth are you getting the labels in a landscape format? I can only get them portrait from Etsy :(
The orientation of the shipping label depends on the type of postage you're buying. If I remember correctly with Royal Mail it's 1st or 2nd class Letter that is horizontal & all other labels are portrait.
@@creativesmallbusinessclub Argh this is frustrating! Wish they gave you the option of orientation for all labels. That means anything in an A5 envelope that is too heavy for letter has to have the label the wrong way on it. Thanks for clarifying!
Great video thank you 😊
