It’s crazy how that born raised piece on the table had the years 2013-2023. Not sure if the plan was to wrap the brand that year, then Spanto passes in 2023.

Still remember when I saw that black and white BxR film on the whatyousteal Tumblr and it blew me away. It was the most authentic Los Angeles video that I’ve ever seen without a fake ass brand behind it. I lost my dad to cancer around the time Spanto told everyone he was diagnosed as well and it’s a damn miracle he’s still around kicking fucking ass and taking names. As a SFV native I love what both of you have been doing for the city since then, it’s amazing to see how BornxRaised has evolved in almost a decade 👏

I don’t know if Jason or Alex or whoever reads these comments, but please tell 2tone and Spanto that I got something I really needed from this video. I know you’re both stressed and busy, and you can’t do it all (fuck it). But I have surgery for some cancer bullshit next week and hearing about your wild and fucked up life through it all has been encouraging and somehow put me at ease about things big picture. Thanks guys

Wow, I am glad I found this video BEFORE I heard about the car crash. This man was deep, and they went through a lot together. RIP Spanto and prayers for his family and his buddy. He was and still is right about gentrification. My wife and I were forced out in 2020 from Pilsen in Chicago, which is a pre-dominately mexican neighborhood. Condo's starting going up (Step 1) over the past 5 years, and last year, they raised home values A LOT (Step 2), BUT raised the property taxes by 2-3 times the previous amount. (Step 3). For example, we bought a house in 2016 for $157K. We sold it in 2020 for $230K. In 2022, they raised the base value of the house from $205 (we paid $157K), to $380K!!! One lady said her taxes went from $3300 to $11K. The value of the house we currently have, more than doubled, so did out taxes. We just got the notice 2 weeks ago. Relocation IS genocide. Luckily, we are ok, but many will lose their homes, condo's, adn apts, but those tax increases are being passed on to renter, condo adn home owners. RIP Spanto!

Spanto looks so much healthier the past few years, it’s very true, from the outside it looks like fun. From what he explained, he certainly does not need the stress and exhaustion, send that man on his 2 weeks vacation no phones.
I wish BXR was still available in boutiques. I love being able to go back and pick up pieces. Keep up the work tone & spanto.
Man, so much respect for these boys through the chemo and the relapse and unrelenting, high stress work schedules. Obv there’s a lot riding on BxR and I wish them continued success and more importantly time to look after themselves.

In 2015 when I was obsessed with BXR I'd scour RUclips and the internet period to find out who was behind the brand
Spanto was fs the name directly associated and then 2tone...but from what I'd read in the very limited interviews... from both of yall. I'd never know for sure if 2tone was directly involved with the inception of the brand
There was really NOTHING ABOUT SPANTO AT ALL on the internet...nor 2tone . Which was frustrating cus I FELT LIKE I RELATED TO YALL HEAVILY CUS OF THE BRAND AND I ALWAYS HOPED ID GET A LONG FORM INTERVIEW from at least one of you
Fast forward to 2022.. I tend to annually do a RUclips/ google scrub to see if any kinda interviews pop up with both of you or either of you individually ..and BOOM I GET BOTH OF YOU. in long form *pause*
I knew about this pod about the middle of 2021.. it was intriguing to finally see and hear 2tone but matty was unbearable for me to listen to so I tuned out

I remember when this ep dropped Inwas a fan of BXR but Spanto was like “now you see me and now you dont” and was always in the mix but not of the mix, that foo had his own story to tell and not alot have shared experiences like his.
