- Mata Hari, the brand-new series about the infamous & eponymous dancer, courtesan and First World War spy, will feature as the Sunday Night MIPCOM 2016 World Premiere TV Screening, October 16.
Based on a true story, Mata Hari series stars French actress Vahina Giocante (The Libertine) in the title role, and features an acclaimed international cast including Christopher Lambert (Highlander), and John Corbett (Sex and the City). All three will attend MIPCOM.
Mata Hari is brought to MIPCOM by Red Arrow International.

@@nschuehly LMAFO, darling she was white by nationality and origins(and even on that we have doubts) but *NOT* by physical apparence! she had *TAN skin* , *black hair and eyes* . THIS is the reason WHY she was *credible* as an exotic dancer, and why she actually lied for a long time saying she was from India: she looked like an idian/middle eastern woman NOT at all as a dutch white woman. The actress is white, got blue eyes. *THIS is called WHITE WHASHING* . that's why this come as a surprise to all of us.

@@jenniferr9144 No I have not got a serious problem. On the colour photos which I have seen, she looks pretty white. I am also aware of the fact though that these have been coloured in retrospect, so the colours may be unrealistic. She does not look like a Desi girl or whatever you think though on the photos I have seen. Anyway, maybe there are photos where she looks more brownish. Even if that is the case, it is still an overreaction, in my opinion, to start a discussion about white washing a white woman who wanted to come off as brown (which another group of people may term as cultural appropriation).
I was excited to watch this but wow did it drag on. Not to mention she’s a two dimensional character who cares about two things: revenge on men and her daughter. Superbly flat character. And the daughter is annoying especially when she becomes super religious. It’s very cringe-worthy.

John corbett isthe worst actor when it comes to portraying anything beyond an american sports player or just a plain silly american in small town usa. He does not have the range to play any kind of european, especially with an accent. I think he had absolutely no place in this movie. It would have been perfect if someone else played the part of her husband.
