    Bought 6 pair of their work socks about 7-8 years ago, worked 10 hrs a day in an ammo factory... and they are still going strong. No holes just normal wear. I use the work socks (thicker) even in the summer when hiking....never a problem.

    Really complaining that your socks only lasts two years? Your feet are the most important thing on a through hike. I'll cough up the $40 for 2 new pairs of socks for each long hike. It amazes me that people don't think twice about spending twenty dollars for a titanium spoon or doodoo shovel and then skimp on something so important.

    I've used other brands of merino socks, and not found anything that holds up as well as Darn Tough. Maybe there are just limits on sock technology? Also never paid more than £15 in the UK ($20) for a pair, as often on sale. They are definately better than smartwool and bridgedale. Not tried Danish endurance. I do prefer Midweight though.

    I've had darn tough socks for many years. AT trail, construction, tennis (lots of footwork, wearing holes in my shoes in 4 months), weightlifting and such. Fantastic experience. They last a VERY long time. Hiking/work/tactical midweight cushioned last a couple of years with me abusing them. Lightweight ones last longer than any other branded socks, but not as long as DT cushioned mids. No blisters. Ultimate comfort, I'd only buy DT socks at least for that. At first I was hesitant, that's a lot of money for a pair of socks. After getting 3 pairs just for AT hike I fell in love with the brand. Threw away all other socks I had. Now I have about ten pairs for different purposes (even one ultralight for road biking). They worth the money paid even w/o the warranty. Get the cushioned type. Buy them on sale. Warranty works great. Pleasant customer service reps too. I know I sound like a commercial but trust me, Darn Tough are great.

Clickbait vid to trash an American made company cause your socks wore out. If you lose a sock, that is 100% completely your fault that has nothing to do with the company and if you’re nice enough. They would probably send you a pair free especially if you have a rapport. You should buy the cheapest Chinese pair of socks and wear them the same. With respect, is clothing perishable, in a manner of speaking? All shoes, socks, underwear, jackets, shirts and pants with usage over time will breakdown. So is it really a shock that an ultra lightweight to lightweight socks breaks down in high wear areas with hard usage? And then to complain about having to pay for $7 or $8 for postage to get a brand new pair of $22+ socks to replace the ones you’ve worn through? Seriously?
    If this happened within a few times of you wearing the socks, then fair enough, but it doesn’t seem like that in your video at all since you never stated it. Seems more like you’re just having a moan about it for no other reason than just to complain.

      @@MCFCTheMadHatter really dude… I show two sock blow outs that I have on camera. I don’t have the others because I sent them back.
      My problem is them positioning themselves as the toughest sock on the market when they’re not. A $23 3 pair of merino socks from Amazon has lasted longer than my last few pairs of DTs. If you want to fall for misleading marketing, be my guest!

    • @MCFCTheMadHatter
      @MCFCTheMadHatter Месяц назад

      @@ChadLubinski Yeah that is why I started my comment "With respect,..." Perhaps I was being a bit harsh. That said and not to be pedantic, even tho DTS say they are the toughest socks in the world or whatever their marketing is, no article of clothing is impermeable to breakdown over time. That is what I took issue with.
      Regardless, at least DTS is good enough to replace their socks free of replacement charge. I think no one can really escape shipping costs whether they're built into the price that no one see under "free shipping" or it is additional to the item price, it is always there.
      All that said, it seems like you have not had many issue with the heavier weighted socks? Midweight and heavyweight, no?
      For some reason my father puts holes in the bottom of the heels of heavy wool socks (no idea how or why as he is retired and isnt climbing mountains or fighting fire or logging lol. But, since I bought him a few pairs of the heavyweight Hunter socks, he hasnt had an issue with them and its been 3 years now. Maybe their construction on the heavier weight socks is superior to the lighter ones?
