Klaus Meine is, probably, the best LIVE singer EVER. He reproduces perfectly his studio recordings.
I agree he is one of them. Though Rob Halford can also do it live really well also.
Dude, just listen to "still loving you" from "world Wide Live, it's 99.99% identical to the studio version, absolutely incredible. If you didn't know better, you'd say it's playback!

I got to see them twice in 88 on this Savage Amusement Tour twice here in Chicago. Great/Fun show. Kingdom Come opened up for them both shows. I was like 17 back then. Now, in 2022, I’m 50.

Fun footnote; at the 1:40 mark, I’m actually in the shot for about a minute. I was standing above and behind the drum kit. On the second level foyer of the Gardens. Purely an accident I was there. Stood right behind Herman Rarebell and looked out at the crowd. Pretty awesome moment.
Savage Amusement tour. Monday Sept 18th Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. I was at that show. These guys were so full of energy. Loved the show! 🤘🤘

Concerts like this simply no longer exist. Monstrous sets, guys absolutely killing themselves to put on the best show ever. KISS comes close with the stage today, but no one has the energy that these guys did at the time.
Other than Metallica I agree they have tons of energy.
Iron Maiden are still on top of their game and still kicking ass! Sadly the days of the big arena shows with awesome stage sets are a thing of the past. Gladly I saw my share of them! Metallica is pretty much the only big arena band left that is actually filling arenas.

These guys were on top of there game in the 80s just like the rest of the 80s bands. And they played all the arenas back then. Bon jovi opened for them was a great show in mass n ri. Providence was the arena to go see a show. No fire laws

Wow this would have been epic to be there in person. Was literally on my birthday, I would have been 2 years old. I saw Scorpions at the Budweiser in 2017, they were amazing. I could only imagine seeing them in the 80s.
I was there with my brother and friends. They played in San. Francisco for two nights in October 1988 at the Cow Palace. It was the savage amusement tour. Yes it was awesome. Half way of the set. the upper stage turned like a guitar and Klaus was on the guitar neck and said in the intro of the song can't live without. Are you ready to count San Francisco. . You bet we were ready. In the that song when klaus said in that song. Put your hands in the air and see you out there. I and the whole arena where putting hands in the air. Go to RUclips and type the song passion rules the game. you will see what I am talking about. it was a era that will never been seen again and for those who lived it. You know what I saying. Great that you like my favorite band and because of the scorpions. I learned German. Ich kan deutsch sprechen. Ich auch Spanisch sprechen

It was epic a and they played some of their 1970's material. In 1988 they played at the Monster of Rock at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. They stole the show and blew every band out. 80.000 people were still pumped after their set. I was there as young teen. Get their older material and also get the song Wind of change in Spanish and Russian cuts. I have them. Klaus singing in those languages.
Their 1988 Savage Amusement album is their best! (for the 80s teens that are now in their 50s)
There is very few videos in concert of Savage Amusement and this is epic! My favorite band of all times.

I saw this show live. I just realized it took me 32 years to notice the overhead light rigging is a Flying V guitar.
I went to that tour (Savage Amazement) at the Richfield Coliseum and the lights coming together to form that massive Flying V guitar is the biggest thing I remember about. So freaking AWESOME!!!

For those who didn’t know Herman Rairebell the original drummer of the scorpions wrote the song passion rules the game and most of the songs on The savage amusement record
Actually, no. Herman only wrote the music for "passion rules the game" and the lyrics to "Don't stop at the top" and "love on the run" (with Klaus Meine). All other songs were composed by Rudolf with lyrics by Klaus.
I'm not sure what all Herman wrote, but he was far from the original drummer. These guys go way back to 1965, but Herman didn't join until 1977
Herman’s written some songs, while contributing lyrics to some of the Scorpions’ biggest hits (Rock You Like A Hurricane, Bad Boys etc.) His English was much better than the rest of the band, when he met them, since he spent a considerable amount of time outside Germany.
What no one appreciates much, though, is his drumming style. Hard hitting and precise. You won’t find him going for fancy runs and fills. He does exactly what is required for the song. Even his drum fills are sparse yet perfect. I marvel at it every time I listen to the “classic” lineup.

Saw these guys four years earlier in 84 at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto for the Heavy Metal Hurricane event. They were touring to support the Love at First Sting album.
Helix, Kick Axe and Quiet Riot opened.
It was an awesome show and the only hitch was Carlos and Rudy from Quiet Riot were having gear issues and were cutting out a lot.
Scorps had no issues however and put on an amazing show.
Fuckin A how tight the Scorps have always been. I got to see them in 1982 and in 1999 and they hadn't lost a step. I missed them their past few times through here (Tacoma) and I regret it to this day.
This was my first ever concert but in LA’s Sports Arena Oct ‘88 amazing 🤩

‘88 was such an awesome time to be a Scorpions fan. Still is today, but this is special.
'88 was, but they had a four year gap between studio albums and I think this one kind of bounced off the wall. Too bad, as I think it was their best album since Lovedrive and then they followed it up with the even better Crazy World. But I can't help but think that some of their audience moved on to younger bands and even Def Leppard had finally released a new album. Perhaps their mammoth tour for Love At First Sting set the tone for the long delay between releases.

Saw this tour at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in Oct. 1988 & it was one of the loudest shows I’ve been to. Also saw them on the Monsters of Rock Tour a few months prior at the L.A. Coliseum.
