The only option I can think of are, either making a bridge or a tunnel that connect side by side for mountain Lion to cross. I once saw one when I went to Singapore Zoo that there's a bridge that allowed animals to cross the streets. That's the only thing I can think off.
That's exactly the plan in LA :) www.earthtouchnews.com/conservation/conservation/worlds-largest-wildlife-crossing-one-step-closer-to-becoming-a-reality
P-22 is no more. Captured and euthanized yesterday as an old, sick, and injured cat. Let's remember him as he was in 2013 in front of that Hollywood sign)). *PS: Good work on taking out a Chihuahua before you went to the big cat retirement home in the sky ;-)
Fence off the freeway and bore tunnels under it. The only thing that matters to humans is their convience. Everything else is secondary. That freeway could have been rail.
Every time I see a mangled animal on or near a road, I lose faith n humanity. Needless to say, at this point, I have very little faith fir our species.
if you see mountain lions that come up to the 101 and then turn around and go back well what about P22 you think after he got over there on that island he would have wanted to at some point try to go back but was very scared just like the ones you saw that come up to the highway and turn around and go back for p23 because of how difficult it was to get there and maybe he was hit by a car and healed and there's no evidence if you examine him so maybe you should have brought him back to where he could be with his own kind?
It’s sad because all animals are being driven out of their own natural habitat because of housing and business development. Where would you expect them to go. It’s sad😔
This make me sad 😔 these animal was here before us... let's face it we are their worst enemies. We are now living on their land and now is being taken over by humans. Not fair to these beautiful creature or creatures.
We humans, as a species, are a PESTILENCE. My heart cries for all the species of animals AND of plants, that We are causing to go EXTINCT. Wake up people- STOP PROCREATING. Get a grip and realize what you’re doing.
This cat seems calm and possibly this cat was taken when he was a kitten maybe this cat belonged to somebody so to speak I should say abducted stolen from its mother and it's natural life. Possibly he's a very nice P22 having been with humans for some amount of time and it's very sad that everything's been misunderstood regarding him. That freaking nail through his ear who the hell do they think they are doing that to him and he's had to live with that freaking tracking collar and barrel around his throat. .....but tagging is EAR like they unkindly do to cattle sucks and it should never have been done shame on those people that claim to care about him that did this to him. He probably could have been somewhat treated like the stray cats in different countries that live in people's backyards and on their porches this cat seems tame and regarding a koala bear what the f*** is that about if a cat took a bear from a zoo the cat would have strangled it and grabbed it at the throat then taking it away and nourished himself with it . That wasn't the case they found this koala bear from what I read just attacked and left to die somewhere where it was found. I think P22 needs food, how much is on the island what's there I haven't heard about the food source for this cat? Cats are not isolated they go into heat and they want to find a purpose with a female if this cat didn't cross the freeway back , he was scared . He would never cross to another territory because somebody dumped him there. poor pup
Thank you...Sandy ...for all your efforts to help the mountain lions of California
We need to build those wildlife overpasses. They're extremely successful.
Like, 40 years ago !!!
Just now heard about P22 on NPR nature program.

OMG! Build some passageways already! They can follow small streams under and aren’t all that expensive to build.
in germany they built overpasses and underpasses for the wildlife...
Well, Germans are smart.
The only things Americans care about are fast cars, 🍔 hamburgers and 🍻 🍺 beers

its not like humans hit the animals on purpose.
@@mayamaeru But we build these gigantic and often unnecessary structures in their habitats... So it is our fault lol
@@mayamaeru you'd be surprised how often they do.
@@ZogJhones and human targets too…
Why don’t you guys move it to other place that also has lions ?

Stop developing the Santa Monica Mountains!
Soon everyone will have left CA and then the cat will be fine to roam and mate.
4 Billion dollar stadiums get built for football. Sucks we can't figure something out.
Nah. Not all. Not “all.” /

Check out the birth rates they're going down, people have stopped procreation and were not going to have enough people soon enough.
