Guided Reading Level D Jan Richardson Model Day 1

New Book and Word Work with Elkonin Boxes (sound boxes). The 2 in the middle were my Kindergarten students.....the girl only was with me in intervention 3 times including this video. It is clear they needed to be moved down to a C and the other 2 were fine with a D. At this point, I had to pull according to times and classrooms vs. levels. A couple of weeks later, we began LLI and I was able to put the middle two into a level lower where they are doing well. What I think this video shows is "real" time in classroom groups- you can't always fit every child into the "exact" leveled group. I had to "pull" the boy through the lesson...gave him much more support than you would want as he should be able to do most of the work on his own.

Hi Cynthia, I get mine from Amazon. Lots of other education supply companies sell it too. Just search "highlighter tape". They also make it in a larger size you can use in Shared Reading if that is something you also do. The thin tape is perfect for guided reading books. Thanks for watching and enjoy your summer!
