One other mini-nalgene tip: If you are taking eggs for breakfast, you can crack them at home and just take the whites/yolks in the 8.oz. They don't leak and you don't have to worry about breaking any shells on the way to camp.

I really like mine, but it has a very noticeable, though inconsequential manufacturing defect. The stamped graduations are reversed lettering. It’s properly legible only in a mirror, but whatever, it fills a large coffee cup in one go, and that’s what I want. It’s a funny mistake to make, and I wonder how the new guy managed to pull that one off. No other complaints. Beats the shattered glass press I replaced with it.

Hi DeadeyeJim327, thanks for sharing! Yeah, I've always thought that looked strange too. I had assumed it was stamped that way so you could read the graduations legibly from the inside when you're pouring into it or filling it with grounds, but it's so narrow it's pretty hard to read all but the top marks from the inside. Graduations aside, love using it for strong camp coffee. Enjoy and Happy Camping!

Thanks Jason. Nice video. I'm inspired to try the spicy mocha next time. How many days are you comfortable having the oat milk unrefrigerated? I know it's non-dairy but it is sold in the chiller section at the store and I keep mine refrigerated at home.

Thanks Thomas, glad you enjoyed the video!
Personally I'm a little lax when it comes to refrigerating things like oat milk so my advice may not be the most sound on this one. On a 2-3 day trip, personally I don't worry about it too much. I'm in the northwest and it's generally pretty cool here most of the season. When I lived in Atlanta, I probably wouldn't have chanced it for more than a day or two. Official FDA guidelines are to not leave it out over 2 hours (for any perishable liquid). It will get chunky and may yellow if it's going bad so you can monitor its consistency along your route.
There are several shelf stable unrefrigerated versions (I think Pacific brand has one) that you could pick up for your trips. They still require refrigeration after opening, but will probably last a little longer. For longer trips out, I've frozen it. They don't recommend freezing oat milk because the texture changes - it will get a little grainy. In the woods, that doesn't bother me very much so I'm ok with the texture change. If I'm going to be using it the same day or early the next day, I"ll freeze half of whatever volume I'm taking and then pour chilled liquid for the remaining half - that way I don't have to wait/worry about it thawing and I still get the extra cooling of the frozen portion. I'll often use a 12oz hydroflask or vacuum sealed container to keep oat milk cold longer on hot days/overnights too. Both of these methods work if you are carrying real milk for a tyke as well.
Finally, if you enjoy a spicy mocha, check out Holy Kakow brand's Mexican Style chocolate syrup. We just discovered it and its the perfect mix of spice to chocolate and its organic! We use it at home and camp.
Hope this helps your backcountry barista. Happy camping!

Will the press nest inside of the 450 snow peak cup?

    • @CirqRentals

Great question: It won't nest into the double wall 450. I'll double check the single wall 450 and get back to you.

I double checked the single wall 450 too, and unfortunately the Ti Press won't nest there either, its just a bit too narrow. It will nest with the 600 and the 700 which is usually how I'm packing it in. Cheers!
