Hey, Thank you for the rewiew. I thinking about to buy one, but i dont know, do I need to hunt a 2019 version, or the original is good enough. I prefer plastic arms, you know the reason, so i don't know, the new one is better with the alloy ones, or not. And the second thing is the 4 added dampers. How is it behave without, and with them. So many kquestions... :) Something else. I really like your rock crawlink video, but it's trange. If I go to your channel, and listing your vidz, yt not shows that vid. It cames up with a single search for dragon hammer voltz. Just to know... So i preparing myself to take out the half of my kidney to have money for this beast... :) Oh one more question. Do you know, what is the max current of the motor? Thanx a lot,

I think it is not necessary to have the 2019 version. My car is 2018 version. Setup/handling is very soft stock. The difference 2018 vs 2019 seems to be alu front arms, smaller pinion gear (17 vs 19?) and the dampers. I am going to upgrade my car with the 2019 stuf this winter since I think all those things will make the car better even if the 2018 is good. I dont want the new arms because they are alu but because the new shape that will work better with the largw voltz wheels. The gull wing plastic v2 arms make the shocks bottom out before the chassis and put a lot of strain on shocks and arms in landings. The alu arms seems to be reshaped to solve that problem.
Also the 2018 is under dampend for the weight, probably the double shocks are made to correct that even if thicker oil would also help.
On the 2018 there is a known weakspot on the plastic lower shock mount, especially on the rear. Duble dampers means double shocks=less load. The 2018 is geared very high, it is impossible to hit the top speed without exploding tires or crashing so a smaller pinion(and therefore longer runtime) makes perfect sense.
None of this is a big problem on the 18, but it all seems like reasonable upgrades afterall!
I would also have liked to see a new rear swaybar, stock is really CRAP... but no rc car is perfect

I do not know the max burst current on the motor. I know the max continous is something like 180A.
This car is 24 kg, 4wd with large wheels , is geared for 90 kph and has a lot of power so it is probably quite high if it is a good setup on a grippy surface. The esc lipo low voltage will cut off quite easy during acceleration if the batteries are below 50%..
But mostly I think traction and handling will limit the acceleration and therfore also limit the motor burst current. I do not use any extreme lipo. 15000mah 75c is more than adequate for most running.

@@iceman5886 Thanks for all the informations, I try to force the shop to get the new version, because it's not a cheap car, and if I need to do upgrades on it it will make it more expensive. I like the smaller pinion, because to do some crawling is my plan too. So thanks again, I hope I can make a video from it soon, And also waiting your further videos,

One more question. What type of batteries do you using, and how long runnig time they can provide?

    • @iceman5886
      @iceman5886  5 лет назад +1

For simplicity I use 4x 4S 7600mah 1/8 scale hardcase packs. That gives 15 min runtime on track. Crawling it can go 45 min or so....

      @@iceman5886 4x 4s? So you mean 2p+2p

    • @iceman5886

      @@sonicrc8918 I use
      4 separate 4s packs.
2 in parallell on each side. 2 4s 7600 mah packs in paralell makes one 15200mah 4s pack on each side.
Why I use this? To be able to use my 1/8 hardcase packs that is a lot cheaper and easier to handle than super large highC softpacks.

@@iceman5886 Yes you are totaly right. This is my plan too. Now Im hunting 4S 7000-8000 mah Lipos 30C
Do you have any recommendations about the brand or the type?
