I see a lot of people trying to generalize this track's size as being indicative of all tracks being small in 1991.. let me assure you, there were some huge tracks back in the 80's. chandler az was large, tried city BMX in rotterdam n.y. was big too, just to name a couple..
@corkyg What's interesting is that even though the berms are so small, they're always going for the high line to keep up their speed. We have to holeshot for the inside line now. Its like a different sport almost.
@Nicool333 Well, we always wanted to get to the inside by the 1st turn, but after that it was a gamble. If you went too high, you left room for someone to divebomb in on the inside, which was much more of an option back then than it is now.
@Nicool333 Yup. Way smaller. It was impossible to keep your speed up when you had to hit your brakes in almost every turn. The berms were TINY, or non-existent (like the 2nd-to-last corner here).
@@BMXArchive not really. They were pretty much all heavy weight lifters back then. A LOT of upper body. Yes, some were juicing, but not near what people are saying here. I remember those SoCal gyms lol.

I was something like 11 motos behind the AA Pros.

Great to see Pistol Pete agan. Too bad Greg Hill was such a ... back then.
Pros back then were all on steroids. They were so big!
Was it the 'roids? Or did they just look different because they didn't wear skin-tight cycling spandex like today's guys?
