- sixteen candles was one of my favorite John Hughes movies. I loved the soundtrack to all of his movies. This track in particular was one of my favorites, and I was always bothered by the fact that it was so short.
I present to you, the Blue Collar Bros. remix of "If you were here" by the Thompson Twins....with an electro disco style, longer than 2 minutes!

Hadn't heard this song for a long time until the animated series "Bob's Burgers" brought it to my attention again. I just couldn't remember the name of the group. So thanks for this remix. Cool. 😄

Superb remix, of a very rare and under-rated 80s masterpiece by the Thompson Twins! As a kid who spent their entire teen years in the 80s, I love the movie, and the soundtrack! So thanks for giving us a dance version of this outstanding TT song!

My only beef with the original is that it was so short lol. I used to rewind it. Love the John Hughes movies. Love 80s music and grew up then as well.

@@BlueCollarBros you are correct in that the original did not have a rhythmic back beat, and it was quite short. So your mix brings it all together very nicely, with the back beat and background, making it very danceable. I always thought this TT song was magnificent, but almost forgotten, if not for the 16 candles ST. So Bravo!

Love it but the original was far too short. This mix fixes that and is really strong…but…the vocal is far too low in the mix! Push it up and it’s perfection!
Funny thing... My original version has the Vox more out front and kept getting taken down by RUclips. So I had to pull it back quite a bit then it was fine. Weird how it happened with some of the remixes. If you notice, the earlier remixes have the same issue. Lately they've only shut me down if they could detect video footage as well. That the reason I do the 4 color retrospective as the theme if most of my videos.
@@BlueCollarBros I see, that explains it. Shame as the vocals get a bit lost once all the layers kick in. Nice work though, well done sir!
