- Here’s my tour of Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas cruise ship from deck 3 up to deck 16! We take in all the venues on each deck; restaurants, bars, lounges, entertainment etc and also all the open decks with their pools and outdoor facilities. Have you sailed with Royal Caribbean before? I decided instead of booking the Anthem 12 night Transatlantic for next Oct 2022, I booked the Celebrity Silhouette 14 night sailing. The fares were comparable but I really liked the itinerary on Silhouette and it returns to Miami and not Cape Liberty NJ/New York City. I live in Tampa so easier to get home as well.
I am Diamond with Royal and Elite with Celebrity so will get a few perks on board. My favorite ship? Any of the Radiance class. I know they don't have all the bells and whistles like the Anthem or the Oasis and Odyssey class ships, but good cabins and less total passenger counts keep the ships feeling large but not crowded. I disliked the Harmony of the Seas as too big, and hugely crowded in all areas it seemed like around the clock. I went one night to get a late night ice cream fix and there were 33 people in line at 11pm! The bar was empty (what? at 11pm?) so my ice cream fix was Bailey's Irish Cream on the rocks!
I hope to make it to Plymouth for a day visit, and will stay in Southampton for 3 nights after visiting friends in Essex and a side trip to Glasgow prior to sailing.

@@TravelBlogJamie No. I've sailed on Constellation and Century so Silhouette will be a bump up for me. This is Thanksgiving weekend in the US and as part of that, we begin the Christmas sales promotions and "deals" on "Black Friday" as it is the shopping frenzy weekend of the year here. The cruise lines created their own "Black Friday" deals, so I booked Celebrity with a fare reduction, a one category cabin upgrade, all in including gratuties/Wifi/Beverage (yes alcohol) package and a $300 OBC per cabin. The Silhouette itinerary includes an overnight port call in Bermuda and while I've been back to BDA since I lived there as a teen, it is a special place for me to visit and that is what hooked me.

Sailed on it back in 2019 pre-COVID , loved every minute. Going again in March 2022. Just curious, what capacity percentage does it have now (if anybody has sailed recently)?

Thank you for a really well put together ship tour. You really covered everything on board. I'll probably get shot down for saying it but having seen the video reinforces my feeling that the big family theme park style cruise ships are really not for me. Many love Royal Caribbean's cruise product, we're all different. There's a cruise line out there for each of us. Just not Royal Caribbean for me.
I completely understand, David. We are still not 100% sold on RCL. It lacked a really nice bar for us, and the food was good but I want excellent. However, excellent cabin and service for sure!
I have a question when booking is only reserved for room or for how many people
You have to indicate how many people will be in a cabin when booking.
This is a floating block of flats! Ugly.
What’s your favourite ship, Peter? Personally I don’t cruise based on what the ship looks like.
