this is yoshinari, the same AD for shows like gurren lagann, flcl and many more, he is also a leading character designer for a lot of output. it makes sense he can create works like these in short time
Been several days since watching the finale, yet the heart-break and pain of loss is still fresh and I can't get over it. In other shows with sad circumstances I would have bawled my eyes out. Edgerunners instead left me with a numbing sadness that just stops the tears from falling and instead gives me that heavy yet empty feeling inside. Well done Trigger, with just 10 episodes you made one of the best game-anime adaptations to date.
The first time I saw Lucy I thought she looked a lot like the Major from Ghost in the Shell, so it’s amazing he says it himself too, it’s in her personality where she differs in my opinion
Just finished watching this and as a 46 year old male I'm not really into anime. BUT after watching the whole 10 episodes MY GOD WHAT A ROLLER COASTER RIDE OF EMOTIONS! This is a masterpiece from start to finish! THANK YOU CDPR AND TRIGGER for bringing this to people who may not be into anime but i will be watching more anime now since I called in sick to work!
9/10 anime. Only problem was it wasn't longer, but then again, that might also be its strength. A lot of emotion over a short period of time gives the "life is fleeting" sort of vibes.
Yeah, that leap from Maine death to grown up David could have be the used as a space between seasons and then expand some stuff. But still, one of the best anime from 2022 so far, for sure my personal top 1
I think 2 or maybe 3 seasons would be more than enough to tell their story, but at the same time by having it this short and concise, it allows the show to focus on each episode following the overall plot making them feel actually connected instead of being divided with fillers.

Hearing his thoughts on all of this was incredible. Lucy’s design is a work of art that almost single-handedly sold me on watching the anime, and probably did for a lot of other people, as well.

The CEO of TRIGGER said on youtube that "yoshinari said felt comfortable working Edgerunners". cuz he usually does other things besides painting, but this time he only had to paint. In other words, he is a real artist. I hope AI translation and a little language skills will get the message across, with love from 2022……

There are many different genres of anime, so of course not everyone will like it, but I think many Japanese anime fans will like it. cuz otaku love cute girls like Rebecca using big weapons lol. I heard that CDPR initially protested against the cute girl because she didn't fit the worldview, but TRIGGER did a great job protecting her.

Illustration skill : Pro max. To draw at this level in such speed cannot be expressed just by "amazing". The anime was such a banger that its now my one of the top favourites. Amazing work Trigger Studio😍✨
When you see this you realise how hard it is to combine the writers and artists work together. A script seems much easier to create in a real life movie than an anime. And then they have to make it work together with the animation.
Big shout out to Yoshinari he really did is thing with the character designs, some of the most unique and aesthetically pleasing designs I've ever seen
i love that he mentioned cdpr envisioned film noir like most cyberpunk films but trigger added some shonen plot points. Makes the all themes & ending hit harder because theres so much optimism & resolved endings in shonen anime but the real goal of the story is much darker & melancholy.
Just finished the series yesterday, it was certainly an emotional rollercoaster of a show and you guys did an amazing job! Also shout out to all the VAs for doing such an amazing job on giving each character their soul (especially the English VA for Rebecca) XD
the studio really nailed it with David design, a boy protagonist with characteristics like him is really easy to make the audience feel annoying, but they make us care for him and become devoted to him at the end. excellent job.
Incredible watching such a talented artist quickly sketch like that, and interesting hearing his thoughts about the character design. Series is fantastic - look at us all wanting more!

Ha sido una gozada ver este anime, no he jugado nunca al juego y por ello seguro he perdido montones de referencias y guiños pero aun con eso, lo he disfrutado al máximo, la ambientación, los personajes, la historia más dura y con ese final dramático, y como no ese estilo artístico y la animación que son 10/10, Trigger lo ha clavado, sin duda un anime de acción más adulta que todos deberían ver sin importar lo más mínimo si conoces o no el juego
Es bastante genial que al ser una adaptacion de un videojuego, se pueda disfrutar por separado, habla mucho de su calidad, ya que muchas adaptaciones de juegos requieren solo guiños y referencias para darle coherencia y entretenimiento a la historia. Aun asi! Deberias darle una probada al juego! Ver el anime me hizo disfrutarlo aun mas. (Y tambien puedes cobrar venganza :P)

Netflix production dropping the ball big time with this video. What is the draw for this video? Hearing what this man has to say and seeing him draw. What did Netflix do? They did a terrible job showing his canvas, didn't let him finish the drawing and stopped him from speaking. Wow.
It's amazing the level of talent and effort these guys put into making their craft. All we have to do is admire them, sit back and relax all while experiencing their enthusiasm and love for their work.
they are much more cute and innocent-ish looking in the final design though, i think you can that even though they are exposed to all of this darkness they are still kids at heart and dont know too much

He's also one of if not the best sakuga animators out there, so I wouldn't be surprised if he's done this hundreds of times.
