Careful ! WORKING/FUNCTIONING Railways are PRIVATE PROPERTY, you can get hit with a $500 trespassing summons if you are caught on the tracks without permission. You can walk up to 3 meters (10 feet ) from the first rail, but no closer than that is allowed by law. This bridge is not in use, so you are okay on that one, but still, its a long way to fall. My advice: take a C-clamp and tighten it down over one of the rail heads just enough so it can still slide along the rail, but cannot come OFF of the rail, and then tie a short 5 foot length of rope from you to the c-clamp. That way if a gust of wind blows you off of the bridge, you won't fall to your death.
It's so intense up there, hard not to shake. Surprised at the number of people on the bridge, usually, only a few due to the private property signs scare them off. Truly amazing.

Louis you need to get a storage rack for the top of the bug. Get a couple five gallon gas cans and strap them up there. So you can fill up the bug without leaving your journey to find a gas station all the time. And you won't have to store so much gear in the bus.
You guys should come over to Victoria. The drive from Vancouver to the ferry isn't that far.Surprisingly enough I've never been to Whistler before but my sister had for a band trip. But there's a bunch of stuff you could do here. You guys would probably even love driving up the island and going to Tofino. But over in Brentwood there's a place called Butchart Gardens you guys may like.
