I want to see you apply a little pressure and test its strength . I can use other JB Weld products but not clearweld. With aluminum I scuff up both parts, cleaning with rubbing alcohol. I apply equal parts at room temperature ad stir and stir and stir. I then clamp the two pieces of aluminum together. I come back the next day and I apply moderate pressure and the two pieces snap apart. The grayish JB Weld works for me. I even repaired a broken oil cooler mount on a vintage airplane in the late 1990s and it is still flying today being exposed to the vibration of the engine.
used it today 7/26/21, cracked car fender about 12" in length, dried it about 5min (clear/shiny) easy to use, hope it doesnt dry up in tube, did pull plunger back somewhat. Have used other JB Weld glues, all work well
I have the bottles. If I go one to one it's still tacky the next day. I'm trying to figure out if I need to use more hardener or less hardener I keep experimenting can't sing figure it out. Other than that works great

I'm welding my heater core pipe the pipe goes to heater core 2 small one it's leaking but very little because the seal isn't really matching 100% so will this join the pipe end to heater core ? Will it seal it ? The pipes do go inside heater core but the rubber or something making it leak there just little drips So my plan is put this inside the heater core ring and some around the pipe tip and fit them inside and put some more outside Plz let me know if this holds well and it's strong as they claim to be there is not much pressure but pipe might be little hot as its antifreeze going to heater core
@@FieldGuidetoDIY I did use the double colour cold held up like a rock Not to mention after driving and heater going through pipes and antifreeze I noticed it made it dry even faster first I let it dry for 6 or 8 hours because pipe leaks from pressure so when hardened and drove for few hours came back and noticed the weld became like a rock from driving the car So maybe th heat from pipes cured it faster ? But was definitely harder after I drove the car

There are zero instructions to open and safe and efficiently use product, where the cap to seal after first time use, so the fancy funnel type mixer, how do we clean so as to have available for a possible second use of product at future time. The company websites a life of 25 years even after a single use and correct capping, please explain where is this cap to close nozzle without it how long is unmixed product with air contact good for, what chemicals and techniques is required to clean fancy mixing nozzle or is this design for a costly and environmental damaging wasteful single use. Shame

I mix all epoxy with a little toothpick or small stirrer . You don't have to worry about air bubbles unless that is critical for appearance. Spreading it and mixing like bondo is too time consuming and you only have so much time before it sets. I want to know how it holds up gluing chipped deck wood and filling cracks in wood decking. I want to buy the larger tubes of 4 oz.
I am about to try JB Weld clear to repair a refrigerator shelf and drawer. Praying it works. The replacement is 300.00. (Ouch) If I remember to find this again I'll let you know how it goes.

There is a skunk outside and this stuff stinks. Causes allergic respiratory and cancer and birth defects. Might want to wear protection. Store in a zip lock bag for later.
Will this hold 5 lbs? I have a glass on glass mosaic I want to attach a chain to (without having to build a frame) so I can hang it on my front porch for the colors to catch the sunlight.
Great question Summer. It is rated to hold up to 620 pounds so that makes you think “yes”. But, in my experience it really depends how much surface contact you have for JB Weld to adhere to. If you can adhere several links to the glass you’d be better off or if you can link something and then bond that to the glass. Just a few thoughts. Thanks so much for watching!
Well I must be doing it wrong I tried to mend a crack in a glass picture frame and it's still there but the two halves no longer move or rattle when I close my desk drawer so that's a plus. ** I will and had intended on buying a new frame this was just a test run before attempted a glass tabletop.
If it's your first time trying it, I hope you didn't buy it that way, because it's definitely not the first time that tube has been used. That unit is almost empty. Having said that, I like JB-Weld, although it smells pretty god awful. Might be how all epoxies smell though. Not sure. The only issue I've had with it is when i tried tinting it the other day. The color came out fine, but it's been two days now and still hasn't cured. Overall, still pleased with its performance.

I don't like the syringe. The instructions weren't clear (to me) and finally I just took the cap off completely. Then, the glue came out faster on one side than the other. By the time I got done, I had glue all over my fingers. Syringe - HATE IT. Next time I need an epoxy, I'll buy one that comes in two separate tubes that you squeeze individually. I don't need a syringe to measure out equal amount especially if the glue doesn't come out of one side no matter how hard you squeeze. Pretty soon one side is empty while the other side is barely oozing out. With two separate tubes, I can get two equal amounts to work with more easily.

I wound up tossing the whole thing. Instructions not clear for a first time user. The plunger fell off, the cap was hard to get off and messy overall. Couldn’t get the mixing syringe to snap in either. Hot mess!

Just cut it off with scissors. You're going to make a huge mess anyway and you'll have to throw away the whole contraption. If you want precision then buy the epoxy that comes in two separate tubes where you can squeeze exactly the amount you want out of each tube.
I'm confused why you mixed it outside the syringe.. The whole point of the syringe is it's mixing the two evenly with an easy applicator. But not sure how to recap..I did pull back the syringe. Seems logical but I didn't and it slowly kept dripping in between applications
Fancy, you have to mix the epoxy and hardener in order for it to set. I mix mine and then apply it to the repair. As far as the kept dripping, yes, i had to exert a bit of pressure to squeeze both out and so drawing it back in releases that pressure. Glad this video helped!
Consider the cost, chemicals released so a Christmas ornament can be repaired, think about the tiny quantity of adhesive one actually needs to bond so tiny a surface area. Super glue.
I'm using this to bond the corners (reinforced with fiberglass) of carbon fiber pipe to make a new crossover tube/coolant router on my 95 lincoln mark viii no joke. My old one is corroded to hell at every end and I don't have time to wait for one to show up in the mail.

@@FieldGuidetoDIY The process is long due to me watching my 5 month old daughter all while having to cut the CF outdoors carefully to make sure everything is the right size/length so I don't over cut. 😬 This honestly is only a temporary fix even though carbon fiber pipe isn't cheap I have a ton that only gets to collect dust on racks. All I have right now is the clear weld and looking up its chemical makeup, it seems fine for the antifreeze im using in my old lincoln. I wasn't able to get around today so I had to use what I had. I've since learned the clear weld has actually been working out better in my favor as I can slightly flex the joints while fitting everything in before total cure. If I went with standard jb weld or weld stick I'd be up a creek right now because once it's set I would have to start completely over with new pipe. I have used epoxy professionally in micro miniature circuit board repair and know how it works. This looked like a great product, until I tried it. I've mixed it according to the instructions and then eight ways to Sunday, but have never had it cure properly or at all.

Nope i cannot find anywher how to put together the dual syringe plunger. Directions are clearly for prior product in the past and there is no clear common sense figuring out . Very aggravating and dissapointing. Supposedly it says snap off cap under header of Attach:Snap off cap. Press E-Mixer down and turn clockwise to attach. ????? What?????. Ok there is no cap there is a small tiny tap of plastic over the spot where glue would come out. So snap that off? IDK. There is this small black piece of plastic between the plunger sticks that looks like that was to be used as a cap. Ok snapped the little plastic piece off where glue would come out and used razor knife to cut out what resembled a cap maybe from between the plunger sticks. However it does not twist on where i snapped the small plastic piece at the tip of the plunger unit. I tried every which way to twist it on. Its definit no go. So confused I have no clue. Time to return.
omg is this product a joke i did as the instructions called for and im now on hour 16 and has not set at all .clean smooth plastic surfaces .was compressed with weights because of top vents but changed over to clamps because not the least bit sticky .let me tell you a fly couldnt stick to flypaper if you used a gsllon of that junk .a childs gluestick would of been better .at this point im thinking this is grease or something .i cannot believe this is glue much less a 2 part glue .0 out of 10 stars and thats generous did i mix wrong ? tried on piece of metal and same results.only thing i can think is its been over 100° but its 3 am and this crap wont even stick on my hands . 1:371:371:371:37

Sorry about that George. Push down and rotate 1/4 turn (similar to a childproof medicine bottle) until the tabs clear. Let me know if that gets it.

It should. I’d suggest you use Original Cold Steel as Kwikweld is more of a filler. Please let me know how it goes.

I had tried Gorilla glue on previous repairs with little luck. We had ClearWeld on hand and I’m happy to report a year later still holding firm.

How on earth do you take the cap off?
Push and twist. Twist those gray tabs so the clear the L-shaped lock (1/4 turn).
With it being clear, how can you tell when it is completly mixed? With the regular tubes being diffent colors it is EASY to tell !
It starts to get a little cloudy when mixed. Keep mixing until it is all cloudy.

When we apply the epoxy, it gives off a pungent odor. Is the smell and fumes supposed to be toxic?

Nope i cannot find anywher how to put together the dual syringe plunger. Directions are clearly for prior product in the past and there is no clear common sense figuring out . Very aggravating and dissapointing. Supposedly it says snap off cap under header of

Ok there is no cap there is a small tiny tap of plastic over the spot where glue would come out. So snap that off? IDK. There is this small black piece of plastic between the plunger sticks that looks like that was to be used as a cap. Ok snapped the little plastic piece off where glue would come out and used razor knife to cut out what resembled a cap maybe from between the plunger sticks. However it does not twist on where i snapped the small plastic piece at the tip of the plunger unit. I tried every which way to twist it on. Its definit no go. So confused I have no clue. Time to return.
Sorry. I have not seen any JB with two separate adhesive-epoxy syringes.
omg is this product a joke i did as the instructions called for and im now on hour 16 and has not set at all .clean smooth plastic surfaces .was compressed with weights because of top vents but changed over to clamps because not the least bit sticky .let me tell you a fly couldnt stick to flypaper if you used a gsllon of that junk .a childs gluestick would of been better .at this point im thinking this is grease or something .i cannot believe this is glue much less a 2 part glue .0 out of 10 stars and thats generous did i mix wrong ? tried on piece of metal and same results.only thing i can think is its been over 100° but its 3 am and this crap wont even stick on my hands . 1:37 1:37 1:37 1:37
