Wasn't the exact fan model I was working with but your attitude gave me the confidence to tackle it regardless, which resulted in complete success. Thanks!
I found the best tool to put the plastic split washer back on, is a very small socket on the end of a hand held driver (the kind that is square to fit sockets at one end and looks like a screw driver).
If you had the goods and want to get the longest use out of a fan. Spray it with electric motor cleaner or contact cleaner. Make sure its plastic friendly and electical component friendly sprsy the shaft and coils after dusting or nlowing with compressed air. Use white high temp lithium grease. Or sewing machine oil works well. Spray teflon. Pb is excellent for specialty oils and lubes. They have a whole line of them. One especially designed for rolling garage doors. Doesnt dry. Doesnt attract dust statically neutral long life weather resistant spray lube. Ive gotten years out of fans after doing so and they were in way worse shape than thst
It is the best way to buy BALL BEARING fans at first, and the price difference will not exceed USD1. There will be no problem of running out of lubricating oil😂

Thanks. Behind the stupid label. Why didn't I think of that. Guess I need a new one anyway.

You need the blue 3 in 1 which is non detergent, with that the fan would surely last much longer than the factory oil, i do this to my household fans

This was helpful. Respect.
Very good information
that'l last another 2years b4 it needs cleaning out again...good job m8.
If you happen to have a tube of graphite powder it works great on the shaft of those fans
You missed your teflon washer.
If you use oil made for electric motors that thing will last many more years.
