placement of the mines should be diagonal (with the road).. try a higher vantage point then ambush and range the hostel element with an ACG scope or an m24.. then confuse them by breaking contact and flank far around the hostel element. then setup and re-engage from a different direction.
Very, very underrated game. For my heart it still legend as well as all ArmA's lore/campaigns, especially ArmA 2: Comnbined Operations' campaign with multiple endings, also, ArmA 1 and ArmA 2 have very awesome RTS/FPS Mode... "Warfare" mode called.
And, as man who loves to play FPS and RTS games - I love this ArmA: Warfare mode a lot, this mode so awesome and dynamic, one commands AI/Player squads and build the base, while squads capturing/defending the settlements for resources, it simulates the view of hard battlefields, battles for city/settlement, it's like Firefight from Halo but your mission is capture settlements, destroy enemy base and protect own, I hope someone will take the idea of ArmA: Warfare mode's gameplay, because this is also underrated idea which was as if ruined in ArmA 3 (I am not sure, but addons which adds this mode kinda sucks, and Warlord is very).

I can't remember if I ever completed the main campaign. I know that I bought an expansion, Queen's Gambit, which I didn't complete. They are tough games though! When I had more patience in my early 20s, I did eventually complete the original Op Flash campaign, but the last several missions were a bit of a chore because I was tired of the effort and tension, and I was getting through them as fast as I could. The most memorable time I've had in the whole series is the mission on Everon when your forces are withdrawing, and you are in danger of being left behind, beginning all alone in a woodland with the enemy closing in. "Anyone left on Everon?" you hear over the radio. Yes, wait for me! Armed Assault was a lot of fun too, I liked the theme and colour scheme of the RACS forces and it was the first in the series in which I did a bit of multiplayer gaming online. There was a lot of fun, hilarity and satisfaction for me on Sahrani.
Turn left on the road and set up at the houses that you come too. Don't go too far or you'll also have machine gun to deal with. You can watch and take cover from the upstairs after you set up. Just remember to space the mines a little more across the road and where you can see them. Park your vehicle off-road. You don't want anything to mess with your nice convoy stream. You'll have way less to deal with after that. But if a vehicle escapes, you'll have to jump into another vehicle to chase them down. They go several clicks away to a base. You have to get them before they reach that.
Note: You need to pick off the roaming soldiers before you try to leave that area. Do most of that from the upstairs windows and do it quickly if you need to chase.

I would have taken a position on the higher ground further back. Not sure the truck did anything. Select a choke point that the convoy has to go over and place your mines there.
Yeah good advice. The high ground does work better. The convoy tends to stop once the front vehicle hits mines. So was thinking to Satchel charge closer to the barricade that stops the convoy?
one thing i never realised untill playing the sqaud command is much better then later releases

ACE1 mod for ArmA1 is better than ACE3, making this a better game than A3. Still loses to WGL5 and ACE2 imo, so respectively OpFlash:R and ArmA 2 are still slightly better. But this game's lack of bugs and complicated physics and cpu intensive calculations, makes a classic in my book. ArmA3's A.I. is garbage even in comparison with the great OpFlash:Resistance
Such a bargain right now on GOG, a great FPS game just like operation flashpoint was!
And still holds up today! Really good if you have a lower end system :)
I always setup on high ground if I have the option.

I totally agree. I had a lot of fun with it even recently. I guess as it's older people overlook it 🤔

@@LTGamingRUclips yes but that doesnt sadly explain why people love it more than any other arma game, specifically arma 1. All of them were just improvements to the original
@@LTGamingRUclips no, on the contrary, it does not come from performance, I have played all the ArmAs on a modern machine and Armed Assault is certainly the least greedy and the best optimized, even Cold War does not work as well I find

Yeah when I pumped up the graphics I was quite surprised myself how good it looks! Defo something we want to do is play games in the future on the multiplayer side so will set up a discord! Make sure to sub to keep up to date on developments :)
