  • Today's video recap is my time with the Plotter 6-Ring Binder System. Over this year I have used this notebook for idea generation, project planning, and general notes. There is a lot to love about this notebook with not a lot to dislike. The accessories really take this binder to the next level with something for everyone.

    I've been waiting for this update Mark, 😄I am in the UK so could only look on as they won't ship here yet, however through some amazing person in Japan, I ordered the beige Pueblo in bible size and bought a shed load of inserts 😆 They are a fantastic little set up. Keeping it minimalist is exactly what these are designed for. You're right with the project folders being superb and hide what's inside as well. I use the envelope at the back for keeping some receipts and stuff in. Overall I am very impressed and humbled for the help I had to get one here. 🙏😄

    I have the new jotter M5 and love using this for my daily carry. With the new M5 inserts, I use it as a daily todo list. I also use the bible (mainly for logging work tasks). I miss not being being able to carry everything in one notebook. The constraints sometimes frustrate me. It is a wonderful product. Enjoy learning how others use it. Great video.

    Thanks for the review! I recently discovered this brand. The paper is amazing! Unfortunately I don't like rings and these notebooks don't change that opinion. I do appreciate the design and engineering that went into making these notebooks. I will definitely be following the brand to see what they come up with next.

    I'm just now seeing this update! The to-do completion bars definitely resonated with me. I use my to-do lines for an overall small project within a project, if that makes sense. So the percentage boxes help me a lot visually.

    • @markyourpages
      @markyourpages  Год назад +2

      I started to break my projects into phases and using the to do lines as ways to show levels of complete. It’s been helpful for me to decide when something is 1/2 done vs 3/4

    I love the idea of the Plotter but, as you say, those 11mm rings are limiting. I do use something quite similar in personal size, also with 11mm rings, and I find the best way to use mine is simply as an "in-box", with several categories of "to do". Works well, with my self imposed limit of 25 sheets. In other words, one page out, before another page goes in. There's definitely a point where, as a left hander too, a binder system can become unwieldy. And for me, that limit is 25 pages. And, to be honest, that's a fairly large collection of "to do" tasks.
    Thanks for sharing.

      Oh this is an interesting system you have here. I like the idea of keeping it limited.

      @@markyourpages got the idea from someone who ran a high street store. She had a self imposed maximum for total customers, on busy days, with an assistant standing by the door.

      I like the idea of the Plotter but I can't justify the cost. I'm mostly interested in the folders. I'm currently working out the dimensions to make my own for Filofax Personal size paper

    That narrow size is the best, want to get one. I cut card stock down to that size and use binder clips. Would love to have a better system

    Binders already exist with that ring configuration and that paper size (personal sized, which is 95mm x 171mm). Filofax, Franklin Covey, Kikki-K, etc, and they have much bigger rings. But the inserts are pretty cool, I think.

    • @markyourpages
      @markyourpages  2 года назад +1

      Very true. I have one of the Filofax 6 rings, but those rings are way big. I think the inserts are the best part of these ring binders. So fun!

      I purchased the Plotter inserts for a Gillio Slim Compagna. Midori/DesignPhil paper is really nice. So yes those binders exist and it's great that they use the same size rings so that it's interchangeable.

    Thank you for this great review! I just recently learned about this product and was curious. I'm curious to know more about the paper. Is it really smooth? I prefer this and less tooth. I use the Tomoe River Paper (Hobonichi Techo) and love it.

  • @DIYTinkerer

    looks like a filofax from the '80s - I loved those things but today they are a bit bulky, this plotter looks great and slim but boy that is pricey and I agree it is a little small for practical use, the ring binder approach does have lots of customisation advantages but also a few disadvantages - for instance you can't draw over a double page, the rings get in the way of writing etc. Is the narrow the same page size as a Travellers note book? looks smaller to me...

    • @markyourpages
      @markyourpages  Год назад +1

      The Filofax clip books are a new modern look at the old 80s versions. This is ice, much smaller rings than the Filofax. The price is a little high, but if you use something like this all the time it pays for itself over time. There is another notebook I reviewed, the Antou notebook. Those pages have a foldout approach that gives the flexibility of full page in a smaller size.

    Hello! I use a personal size filofax, and I have been considering the bible size weekly inserts of planner for next year. However, I would like to see them in action, get to know how do they actually perform on day-to-day basis. Have you had any experience with those?

    • @markyourpages

    the perfect ring size would be 15mm i dont know why they chose 11mm. i have a 15mm krause ring. I wonder if i can take the plotter apart and change it.

    It’s too skinny it would probably be used as a post it note all but to make a entire entry such a planner or everyday notebook for note taking at work or personal use not feasible I would just use it for reminders or shopping list Christmas list and bday list . Way tooo expensive for what it offers.
