The original Donkey Kong is such a defining game of my childhood, it's something I associate with very warm memories spending time with my older brothers as a kid... so the combination of all these little nuances and references at once literally started to bring tears to my eyes.

yet it probably won't be in a rhythm game (minigame here would've been nice), or mario/sonic olympics rhythm gymnastics if they make another (or at least update 2016 for this as 3 songs sucks).
If you watch closely, the drummer isn't actually matching the song much at all. They conveniently cycle the same animations for each section as the song continues on. The animation is wrong, but you don't realize it because it's consistent. And then you've got Mario who has shuffles for years.

Mario saved Pauline 37 years ago from Donkey Kong, and Pauline still loves and adores him. Throwing him a festival saying how she will be his "1up girl" celebrating the way he jumps, his mustache, his hat, etc. Mario has saved Peach countless times and at best he's gotten a cake and a peck on the nose. At the end of Odyssey she basically treats him with contempt again after he traveled the world again, and even to the moon, risking his life again. Spoiled bitch! Mario outta move out of the Mushroom Kingdom and back into New Donk City! They even have posters everywhere of him! Luigi can have Peach, Mario gets best girl Pauline!

If you watch closely, the drummer isn't actually matching the song much at all. They conveniently cycle the same animations for each section as the song continues on. The animation is wrong, but you don't realize it because it's consistent.

Seriously, the festival level was one of the many moments my mouth hung open as I played this game, the purest Mario game I have ever played and a worthy successor to the legendary Super Mario 64
Mario saved Pauline 37 years ago from Donkey Kong, and Pauline still loves and adores him. Throwing him a festival saying how she will be his "1up girl" celebrating the way he jumps, his mustache, his hat, etc. Mario has saved Peach countless times and at best he's gotten a cake and a peck on the nose. At the end of Odyssey she basically treats him with contempt again after he traveled the world again, and even to the moon, risking his life again. Spoiled bitch! Mario outta move out of the Mushroom Kingdom and back into New Donk City! They even have posters everywhere of him! Luigi can have Peach, Mario gets best girl Pauline!
