She seems very sincere with that thought, and it's perceptive and insightful, but doesn't she really mean the opposite: "no effort goes to waste", or am I missing her meaning ?

I guess my quibble with it is because I've always considered "wasted" (unlike spent/used) to be a negative/undesired outcome, such that one wouldn't WANT something of theirs (effort or otherwise) to be wasted.

She's NOT boring! It doesn't help that most interviewers keep asking the same questions such as Flashdance, Flancedance, Flashdance! Although this interview is way better than most. I would like interviewers to allow her to flaunt her intellectual side.
