This band is special. Such a refreshing sound in the metalcore genre. And they do it soooo fucking well. I'd say check out all their songs if you vibed with this. But some mandatory recommendations: Jaws, the love you want, higher, dark signs, atlantic, blood sport. So damn good. They'll make you cry, headbang, get the chills all within one song. Worship.
In regards to Sleep Token, their singer "Vessel" is also the song writer. He writes all of the music/lyrics and then brings in the drummer "Vessel 2" to put down the beats. Their first album and single EPs are heavier than the new album, especially Gods being the only song with an extensive amount of screaming. Otherwise they are generally very melodic with crazy heavy moments in between. Really hoping you go on the full journey Sean!!

Their last two albums you can listen to from front to back and just go on an ethereal journey. “Atlantic” off their latest album would be a huge recommendation, otherwise “the love you want” has a great great GREAT film clip and would make an amazing reaction video. Yk the fascinating thing to me about this song is the vocal melody primarily only consists of 3 notes. The chorus bit, just the 2 the whole "She's-not-acid-nor-alka__line__" granted, there's nuanced notes for flare but truly, the simplistic melody couppled with complex sound layering & "deep" lyrics really puts some pop in this genre. Sleep Token is the "Type O-Negative" we needed but didn't deserve. Thanks for your reaction, mate.
They quite often do it like this: the main vocal line pretty much in the same octave, but it's the harmonies and countermelodies that thicken and widen the sound. So they are building the song in layers.
going thru Sleep Token's whole discography, I actually said on my blog that my one complaint with Alkaline was that it was too short bc my ears weren't done listening to it. perfect length for radio, terrible length for my greedy ears 😭
