Its just insane that the time gap isnt even that big, respect to the players to be able to compete at that speed Edit: Mudda is freaking insane, unbelivable🫡🔥 a sub 10mins run is madness
What's amazing to me is that a 9+ min TAS is only 20s faster than a normal WR. Speaks volume about the raw talent of Mudda as well as how well designed the track is.
The tas could definitely be optimized by atleast another few seconds if you really grind every turn and input. But i definitely get your point. The effort these top players are putting into their speedsruns is insane
@@VelpkeTrials 20s is a lot, but considering it's TAS vs human on an infamously difficult track, and the TAS is only 3% closer to perfection, it's really not
mudda has optimised it so far that this shows just what he has to do to reach the sub 10 and its absolutely ridiculous. Every single one of those speed slides or side jumps can easily end a run and they only gain tiny fractions of a second and he has to do a stupid amount of them in one single run to save 6 seconds, which is a behemoth amount of time in a racing game
It's fairly simple. For years, getting a WR was equivalent to pushing the limit. If anyone improved the WR, they were the guy pushing the limit. Now with TAS it's possible to push the limit without actually driving real-time. And pushing the limit versus merely getting slightly closer to the limit... for some hunters it doesn't make difference. For some other hunters it is a huuuge difference which takes most of the pleasure and motivation away from hunting. I think it's more obvious on maps such as A01, A04, A07 or B13 (or even C11) where every new WR raised the question if it's actually a time that's perfect and/or unbeatable. Now with TAS you can clearly prove that those records are relatively far from the limit. TAS is a gift that pushes the limits and explores the new possibilities, but it also sets this vision of perfection a human can never reach, which depending on your mindset might or might not be severely demoralizing. Now, I can't spell for Mudda himself; his reasons might come from something else than what I've described. I doubt that the "Why is [anyone] demoralized to hunt a map?" question has only one answer.
@@liborkundrat185 maybe it's really demoralizing looking at a theoretical perfect run and seeing how much rng that would need - like, sub 10 is doable but knowing sub 9:50 is possible (= knowing there's a bit of leeway for others to improve the record) might kinda hurt
See I can't decide between being blown away that the TAS is 20 seconds faster than current WR or genuinely impressed that the WR is only 20 seconds under this absolutely ridiculous run.
Honestly the fact that it's ONLY a thirty second or so gap is a testament to Mudda, look how insane you have to play to be able to get that time, and he's almost there
Based on some twitch chat messages I think you need to explain what make TAS run actually involves, i think some people think it is like a computer driving for you
I dont play this game but from my understanding its like having unlimited flashbacks, you can repeat everything without losing the run, so people make perfect runs. Correct me if im wrong
@@kingjasko you can also slow down the game to increase your reaction time and just generally play better. There are a couple other things, but those two are by far the most important.
So this is basically the trick you do in the beginning of A01 combined with the slide you do towards the jump on A01, but instead of needing to master each of those ONCE - which already is kinda hard - it does this perfectly on bascially every jump and every curve over the duration of 10 minutes on a full-speed-track? oof.
The most insane part about this is the fact that the time gap is so small, I would’ve assumed that was like 2 minutes ahead, the pace is unreal. Mudda is a god
I'm not sure if it's also invoking some kind of game bug, but the trick of reducing airtime off the jump has an IRL component to it. In motocross and mountain biking it's called a 'scrub'. Right before hitting the crest of a jump, hill or anything that would cause some airtime, the rider will drastically tilt their bike sideways by leaning and turning their front wheel so it pulls the bike sideways out from under the rider. This allows for their center of gravity to be lower when they come off the lip, and the spinning force of the wheels acts like a gymbal to help keep the bike and rider vertical enough to land safely. Although 4-wheeled vehicles can't quite do the same, they can still take advantage of suspension + momentum to do something similar to a smaller degree, but it's also significantly more difficult and dangerous.
The time jumped from -15s to -22s close to the 9min mark. So Mudda must've reset there so this would be humanly possible and getting him closer to a sub 10min.
