    The mate has a lot of secrets to unlock the right flavour. Give it another try. Important stuff : - water at 80-85º degrees, if you boil it you make it bitter. - Dont let ir rest! its worse. - You can add sugar to the first 2 mates in order to ease it. - My luck as an argentinian is that our first mates are made by our parents, and its delicious.
    BTW, the caramel in havanna is call Dulce de leche. Exquisit. Good luck!

    It's funny how you try to define the Havanna "alfajor" without knowing it, specially the inside. I was screaming at the screen "Dulce de leche". It's like a caramel but made from milk. You're not used to it, that's why you didn't eat the whole alfajor. About the preparation: You should look for tutorials made by argentines to unlock the real flavor of the mate. Also you can add some cofee, a little bit, no more, to make it more tasty. You suppose to change the yerba when it loose its taste, wich can ocur a lot in one day. Another thing, we also drink cofee, but the mate is a regional drink.

      The dessert was very tasty. I didn't eat all of it because I don't typically eat that much sugar so a couple of bites was good enough for me. 😋
