i only wish they could of built more houses up in the stands make it more of a shanty town
wish the guards didnt have the gear of lvl 1 intro raiders
@@banegas0411yeah but they're all level 50 so they'll fuck up anything that isn't the sole survivor
There’s a mod for that, Diamond City Expansion, but it’s a bit laggy. Guess that’s why Bethesda didn’t do it
Yeah.
What I wish is instead of giving you a shitty little shack for a playerhome they give you a nice plot in the stands to build in the open air, or even one of the boxes up by the mayors place
Dimond city was too small and runned down. It is supposed to be the jewel of the commonwealth and it looks like every other shanty town.
Did you expect a modern town in a post apocalyptic wasteland? The fact diamond city can paint it’s walls alone makes it more advanced than anywhere else
@@ShadowSearcher31except Yknow the strip
@@ThatGuy-bm9csAnd the NCR Capital, ,and San-Fran ,and Vault city. Or other settlements in Nevada and California after NCR became big
@@darrogen6200 I don’t know anything about them as I have only played 3 to 76 unfortunately don’t have a pc for 1 2 and others
@@ThatGuy-bm9cseasy to rebuild a part of a city when you have a pre-war billionaire who planned to do exactly that before the war.
“Who thought it was a good idea to build around a bomb anyways?” THE CHILDREN OF ATOM HELPED FOUND THE TOWN.
The part that I have trouble believing is none of them ever tried to detonate it.
@@caninelupus8369Maybe that was part of the agreement with the other settlers to not detonate it.
@@caninelupus8369it's missing the fusion core provided by Burke of you do try and detonate it.
@@caninelupus8369they probably did try ;)
@@caninelupus8369I mean maybe they see it as a holy site? With the water around it becoming irradiated. Kinda similar to the waste disposal site with the river in far harbor
See I love diamond city, but for it being the ONLY main settlement in the game i would have liked for it to be way larger, maybe if it had vertical houses along the rims of the stadium it was just so upsetting when i found out it was the only one in the base game
How could you love diamond city? It doesn't make any sense.
@@garethkalum8297can’t say I enjoy walking around diamond city either. Feels small to me and I feel like the majority of it is just fluff and filler. It feels like the market center is all there is to diamond city despite it being much larger than that.
I really enjoyed Megaton and Rivet City
DC, Goodneighbor, Institute, technically you could count the Prydwen too.
@@FreedomFTW goodneighbour was small asf it was the size of the prydwen, speaking of the prydwen thats way more of a base than settlement theres like what 5? unique npcs throughout the whole place, the institiute I guess but I don't count it because 3/4 of the endings just end up with you destroying it.
@@snovl1978 I guess. Goodneighbor is still a nice settlement though, even if a bit smaller than dc. I do wish they did more with it though.
Now fun fact within the stadium of diamond city you can see a red chair out of all the blue. That’s the chair where Ted Williams managed to hit a 502-foot home run on June 9, 1946 in Fenway Park
That's a cool detail. Which part of the stadium though?
@@evilPatric you’ll have to use a sniper rifle but it’s right behind Sheng’s house right under the billboard that says GNN
Even cooler fact related to this, there was a man named Joe Boucher seated in that chair that day wearing a straw hat, the ball knocked him in the head and blew a whole through his hat, he only sustained minor injuries. After his passing a few years ago his family came to a sox game and sat in that row wearing straw hats, but they left the seat empty for Joe.
And the somewhat irony of the planning of the magazine cover is I married a robot in that building there is the teacher who if you get some dialogue with the robot assistant they end up getting married
Actually reflcting back on Fallout 4 makes me wish they made University Point and Quincy the main citys of the Commonwealth and the Boston Baseball Stadium actually one of the abandoned places. Because zhe big open ring of this building just screams Boss Fight to me, maybe it would have been an even better location to face of Kellog or a big mutant Creature like Swan. But especially like it was depicted in the 2013 Tom Cruise movie Oblivion, I still get Goose Bumps of the main Charackter standing in the abandoned stadium looking around and giving a great monoloque about one of the greatest Baseball Games in history, what would have been great to experience in Fallout 4.
Yeah but this is bethesda were talking about, that is way too creative of an idea for them just have more fetch quest and maguffins like they want us to
This is a laughably terrible idea, but i do think they should've had more big hub area like cities like Diamond City
One thing i thought of was if you had some kind of disguise wearing gunner clothes you could get in to quincy and find that the gunners moved in their own merchants and people that are living under their care and protection for like money or something and if you do some digging you could find that these were some influential citizens of quincy that wanted to have the city to themselves instead of the minutemen and so they contracted the gunners
Because those towns don't have a prebuilt wall for protection
To be fair, talking with I think Maya reveals that the area was plagued by dust storms and the crater helped shelter them from the storm. At that point the bomb hadn't gone off in over a 130 years. The crater offered safety and shelter to people going by and so they started the building of a town. But at that point the children of Atom were already getting established, and the town needed their help to move an entire plane or two a few mile back to the safe spot, so they couldn't just up and dismantle or remove the bomb. And by the events of Fo3 its been 200 years since it should've detonated, so most thought it was a dud.
It's missing the fusion core that Burke provides you to detonate it.
@@garethkalum8297 it's a fusion pulse charge. It's designed to bypass the safeties, and charges set to detonate the bomb, by triggering it. It's not missing any pieces.
It's more like shooting a stick of dynamite. The bullet caused it to explode, but the dynamite wasn't missing a bullet.
Moira Brown I believe
There’s also a secret room that you can only get to with a jet pack. It has a power armor station and leveled loot. It’s located above the entrance of Diamond city
I was about to say going to say that. I think it was supposed to be a base but was scrapped 😊
Meanwhile the strip absolutely smokes diamond city and megaton
Absolutely but Reno in 2 and the Hub in 1 blow all the 3d cities out of the water
@@splattt8088reno definitely is the king, but the hub ehh not so much imo
You mean three buildings
Free side is closer to an actual main city
And it's more of a large ghetto than an actual city
I honestly can’t remember much distinctive about the strip other than it’s the strip
@@proggz39 It's literally three buildings
Not including the lucky thirty eight
The real main city of vegas is freeside
I don't know if the mod is still available but Diamond City Expanded was great it made it feel so much more like a proper City where a lot of the stands were used as part of the expansion.
Diamond City Expanded is the shit, absolutely a must-have mod. It does have a few bugs and conflicts, but worth wrangling with.
If you have the creation club quest of Captain Cosmos and obtain the Captain Cosmos Suit Armor, it will give you a jumping boost and go across rooftops in Diamond City and around structures and it is immune to fall damage. Otherwise, having a high level and good points on agility and endurance, you can use the Capt. Cosmos Power Armor since it has a jetpack mod already.
Or just use the jetpack you get from the main mission
@ThatGuy-bm9cs Yea, this is just info for those new to CC quests or who don't have the required perks and want the items/advantages early game.
What about fallout 76 on pc? I’m on it
@@LordysGambitBruh you're in Appalachia
No free jetpacks for you
@@pg13snipez wdym bro I was just in New Vegas
my best bet for why folk built around a bomb was because it was a landmark. it made it a good way for folk to hear and find megaton. if you were exploring the wasteland and found an atomic bomb, youd keep that in mind. so later when you hear about megaton, youd know where it is.
They build next to a town they could have used
It's been years but I remember the old lady in the town explains everything if you ask her: The town started there because the crater provided protection from the dust storms that were more common hundreds of years ago after the bombs dropped. Over time it became a trading hub, and people built the walls out of airplanes.
Also the Church of Atom was involved in building the city.
Diamond City should've been way bigger. Not just contained inside the stadium, but stretching out in all directions. Like say a mirelurk fisher community in the north by the river, a salvager/scavenger community in the east and maybe a farming community in the south or something like that.
The NPCS stories are amazing
The mayors, the schoolhouse teachers, science center scientists and more are amazing
They really aren't they have no depth to them. So the mayor of this city of 25 people just got abducted and, literally no one notices he was gone. And, when they replaced him no one realized he was a different person. Hell the literal only story worth hearing in diamond City is nicks and, even that is all stuff that takes place before the game even starts.
If you've ever been to a baseball stadium or just look up the layout of Fenway Park, you know that Diamond City is the worst way they could have made a ballpark into a city.
your insults towards Megaton are noted. we will be sending agents to your place for reeducation purposes
I just realized the reason why that magazine is in the school house is because you can talk to the robot about love and the robot and the teacher get married the next day
Diamond City is my unofficial Minutemen Headquarters, I spend a lot of time there shopping and creating in the Player Home. I grind caps at the Chemistry Station converting steel to Poison Caltrops. Max Charisma and appropriate clothing make easy caps. I pick up fertilizer items, buy all shops Blood Packs and make Stimpacks a long the way. I modify most of my Power Armor, Weapons and Armor here as well. So while visiting all the shops I'm sure to pick up all the junk that will make upgrading later on a breeze
Out of ALL the time I've spent in fo4. Modding up to 522 mods on a 4050 laptop and I DID NOT KNOW THE FIRST SECRET WTF HAHA
There's a bounty baord near the swatta dude
The diamond city bases achievement is so secret that it’s listed on the list of achievements for the game
If you go into Henry Cooke's house, there is a wall that you can just walk through at the top of the stairs. There's even a little ledge to stand on on the outside of the wall
Hey I saw you video on tiktok you replied to my comment I just wanted to let you know I saw one of your videos and they got me interested in fallout 4 and really helped while I was depressed thank you
Bro megaton is probably one of my favorite settlements
in the yellow bus you can find beer?? and chems in a chem box (normally mentats/psycho, or buffout)
Nah for me megaton. It’s Nostalgic and I like the concept of the city being built around the bomb sure there stupid for that but it’s still cool as hell and seems more like a settlement that would actually be in a post apocalyptic era, don’t get me wrong diamond city is cool but for me megaton will always have my heart!
Megaton is so cash money. Its very video game-y. I wish we got a FO3 revamp
A FO3 revamp would be so nice 😢
I like the different vibes it gave off. For me, Megaton felt so apocalyptic. It set the tone of a dangerous world because even the people inside the city had a dang nuke at their front door step.
Diamond City on the other hand felt very hopeful. It was safe. They had crops and schools. It fit the tone of the game, which for me, was hopeful.
I still like the NPCs in Megaton a lot though. Remember the innkeeper?
@@ianilanotv I remember if you detonate the nuke - that one girl who you help in those scavenging missions shows up bald AF with Hella rad poisoning. It scared the shit outta me when she pops out of the dust clouds to say hello. It was eerie
@@ianilanotv fallout 3 was bleak because you just left safety and security to go into an irradiated wasteland to find your father, contrast to f4 in which you lose literally everything, all to come into a world of monsters and killers, so why would they make it so hopeful, seems counterintuitive to me
Yeahz i remember laughing seeing a guy who is married his teaching assistant robot and end up feel sorry cause i am interested in that frenchy nurse robot
The Green Monstah!
Imagine pick up the Live and Love magazine and noticing Danse dealing more damage
Nice
There's that secret part on the roof of diamond city only accessible with a jetpack on your power armour. Its basically like an unmarked player base with some loot.
THAT ROBOT MARRAIGE QUEST MAKES SENSE NOW.
to this day I still don't understand how the upper stands is... the upper stands. you can see the ACTUAL upper stands on the elevator ride to the mayor's office.
the magazine "I married a robot" is found in the schoolhouse because it belongs to one of the teachers, secretly in love with his companion, a ms Handy robot who is secretly in love with him as well. doing a little dialogue quest helps them open up to each other and after a day, they'll be married at the all faiths diamond City Church.
I don’t know what iv been told but uranium ore is worth more than gold, I sold my CAD and bought me a jeep, I got that bug and I can’t sleep
i got that book*
Diamond CITY
Population: 20
Enter Skyrim's "cities" with a population of 15 guards and 5.5 civilians.
man one thing I hope they get right in Starfield is more realistic populations. I want the planet cities/settlements to feel POPULATED
and two chickens LOL
Megaton is peak civilisation.
Homerun achievement is actually rlly cool
Best achievement in my opinion
If you have a jet pack you can go to a secret room in diamond city
Are you talking about the one on the top? 😎
the gun dealer there had a mini nuke when i barged into his house
As a assaultron simp, this is perfect for me
hahaha YES a fellow assaultron simp. Nice to freaking meet you 😄
Cool I never knew
yay! glad it was able to help you out friend! 😊 let me know what other vids you'd like to see next!
Found all of that without even trying. They needed to add more to diamond city it was to neat and organized unlike megaton where it had more of a feeling to explore
I just love making my purified water factory.
"Why be dry, if you be wet"™️©️
Megaton actually made a fair bit of sense for people who don't know nuclear bombs. "If it didn't explode when it hit the ground, it probably wasn't going to," right? Ignoring the fact that it was still live, it also provided a natural defense against storms before the walls were up, and a source of water you could boil and make potable.
Sure, Diamond City made sense to make a town out of, since there was no giant atom bomb sitting in the center, had already built and easily secure walls, and a bit of digging would provide a good place for water to accumulate to be boiled or purified.
Only a single part of this that's wrong and, that's the idea that the walls were already there. They werent those were added post nuclear bomb day as evidenced by the shoddy workmanship of said walls which are all patch work.
Glad someone talking about this, so many small hidden details you can easily miss just bypassing
At least diamond city actually put Some thought into it
They really really didn't any other town in the Boston area would have been a better choice. They are in the heart of downtown and, it's so heavily infested that their is absolutely no way their meager defenses would hold off even a fraction of the super mutants that roam the are. Not to mention the raiders and, mutant creatures and, ghouls.
I remember being confused about the home run achievement when I got it. Lol I had no idea what I had done 😂
Using the Power Armor jump pack you can go into a secret room above the Diamond City gate which contains a mini-nuke and other assorted loot
My codsworth is useless. He glitches out making it where he couldn’t move and couldn’t attack three times, he ignored the mini boss but instead later attacked a death claw that one shot me, but then he clapped a mini boss on his own.
I didn't learn for years that there is an area above the entry gate only accessible from outside the city that is definitely worth checking out. Jetpack up there if you've never been before.
Oh, you can open and close the main gate from up there too.
There is a quantum cola sitting behind the bar with the crazy robot bartender. If you pick it up and hold it ,you can walk down a side street until you get alone. Drop it on ground and check that no one is looking and put it in you loot. Works on anything you can pick up and carry in front of you character. I took almost everything on shelves behind the vendor on the BOS blimp. Pick it up and.carry it around the corner.
Fallout 1 shows us humans in shady sands building wall and houses after 80 years after the war.
i like fallout, glad to see it in yt shorts
Trying to pump out more Fallout content for ya'll friend! Thanks a ton for watching!
Can I ask what other videos you'd like to see? Other games? Helps me plan out more content 😊
That armor looks really cool :)
what about the fact that Diamond City Radio (imo, the best radio in the game) is Travis in an old trailer over a lake with probably the shittiest supports ever
I think the entire concept of Megaton would have been so much better if they did this one thing, made the goddamn bomb be the entire reason they set shop there! If they made it so that the town jury rigged the bomb into their power supply then it would be a pretty damn good reason for the town to be there. The only thing it would’ve changed is that the bomb would have power lines and a box attached to it, no quests or dialogues would have been affected.
They did, in a way. There used to be dust storms in the capital wasteland, and the Megaton crater offered shelter. Not long after a certain couple hunkered down there the Children of the Atom showed up. It makes sense the literal nuclear cultists would set up around the object of their worship. After the walls were built, people started showing up and before you know it, Megaton was founded.
9 Nuka-cola quantums, one for each inning in a baseball game.
Blowing up megaton is the right thing to do just because you can't let the residents get away with deciding to build on a bomb
that's what Im saying....
I did feel pretty guilty after seeing the radiated innkeeper afterwards lol
It was the Atom cultists who built around the bomb. Ya know, the people who literally worship the damn thing? Other people were drawn to it over time because it was safe from everything else and thought the bomb was a dud.
One of my favorite locations is the fort where you fight Kellogg. It's not incredibly hard, with the worst enemy you find being a handful of supermutants. Inside you'll find turrets and quite a few synths, which you can make short work of with an energy weapon like the Righteous Authority, which will always have plentiful ammo if you look around for anmo boxes and loot bodies. There's a ridiculous amount of radaway, stimpacks, radx, and other meds all over the fort, and in the runined hospital outside. If you check inside the footlockers in barracks room, you can get tons more grenades, ammo, and 3 fusion coils. Kelogg is the main boss and he's not very tough. A beat him with an electrified chinese officer sword for DC, and he drops, grenades, two steath boys, and his legendary revolver with ammo for it. But wait, theres more. Because outside the town, theres two barns, one with an almost complete set of power armor and several armor racks.
It took me awhile to realize that there is a chapel/church in diamond city
I used to go to the top of the skyscrapers near diamond city, where looking down at diamond city it kind of looks like an industrial area instead of diamond city lol. Then I would jetpack and fall into diamond city. I think one of my oldest videos is actually of me doing that, think it's titled 'how to enter diamond city like a boss'. If you do look, once you see fo4 videos your close to it lol
There is a safe in sanctuary that has between 1 and 6 lock picks. I generally restart till I get at least 5 then you want to sneak around diamond city till you go through everything and you'll end up with enough resources to get a good start on your games exponential groth.
The secret hideout on top of diamond city accessible from the out side
I always blew up Megaton, so i never really got to know the town aside from the bar and Mr. Burke.
On thing you missed is that over the gate to diamond city theres a space you can access with a jet pack that has hidden loot and you can also open and close the gate to diamond city
The mini nuke spot
love seeing our choom cover fallout too!
Don't make me cry. I love seeing my chooms support all the games I'm interested in 🥲🥲
Appreciate you friend! Let me know what other videos/games you'd like to see next - helps me out as a creator!
@@ianilanotv Keep doing your thing!
The biggest deal breaker for me was the fact it was 200 years after bombs dropped yet no progress toward anything has been made. Other fallout games had more developed settlements.
Seriously especially considering when you come back there is a literal perfect place to set up a hub city. Sanctuary has fresh arable land access to drinking water. I mean hell in game time when I return I spend about two weeks building a better settlement than diamond City imagine what I could do if had diamond City.
The best thing about Diamond City is Home Plate. My first 2k caps are earmarked for the private house.
I'm not sure very many people know about this I had to find out through Mama Murphy but if you fail the charisma check it don't have the lock picking level for the door to Kellogg's house there are some chairs directly beneath his house and if you search the you can get the key to his house
Yeah Megaton always surprised me, you'd expect there to be a massive empty exclusion area around that bomb, maybe filled with monsters but I guess the radiation fried the residents brain cells.
The town was partially founded by the children of atom people obsessed with radiation and nukes
The fact that you can close the gate by jet packing up above it and interacting with it.
I prefer diamond city over megaton because when I play on survival it’s a much more dangerous trip and it takes longer, making it much more satisfying to get to
The hidden room above the mayor office would have been better than the first mention.
Dude said he’ll pick diamond city over megaton?!? Hell nah never pop up on my feed again😂
One of the buildings in the area near Goodneighbor has a Power Armor station too
Baseball feild, it’s THE baseball field lmao
Shoot you’re right ahaha mb 🤣
Its also great for loot runs if you dont mind the inspection theft cheese
Diamond City is a ghost town from the second u walk in there
There’s a mini “settlement” up on the roof on the outside of the city. Wish I could make it a settlement
Megaton was a Children of Atom settlement that grew from outsiders moving in. They only live there because it was pre-established and was part of trade routes.
They built its around the bomb because it was close to the vault and the bomb crater left a source of water for town to drink.
I love the house full of cats. 🤣
Hahaha get out of my head because that’s a video I have in the queue 🤣🐱🐱
Nah the launching hounds is fucking great and you know it 😂
in case we forget
it's called diamond city because the lines on the baseball lines form the diamond.
The children of Atom were instrumental in the creation of the actual city as I understood it. Plus, raiders would feel pretty stupid strolling into town and think to shoot the place up because again, giant bomb in the middle of town.
Side note, if you take a sniper rifle up to the top of Tenpenny tower and look out towards the Lucky's shop, stare through the scope just past and you will see out of bounds another bomb crater. Would really think the area might be more irradiated but still a nice touch.
Should have mentioned alongside the magazine in the school the fact that you could also talk to the teacher and the missus nanny who could then get married later on at the nearby church. So did the magazine inspire one of them? See it, question it as they developed their own personality and consciousness beyond their initial programming perhaps?
There is also the science center that tasks you with recovering a bloatfly gland.
There is the bit about painting the wall where you could convince the guy to take a different color and change things up if you didn't feel like mixing the paint at the back of the raider run shop. Or just felt like a change.
Oh, there is the one homeless guy that asks for a nuka cola and can then be recruited to a settlement. Not sure why this was really a thing unless maybe there would have been others like him that could have been recruited for settlements via simple tasks or something. I mean, still are, sort of. That one unique clothing merchant that is a former brotherhood member that will sell you some legendary pieces for example or the one lady from the radio station.
When i first got to diamond city, the first thing i did was run the bases. Immediate achievement. I was so proud.
HAHAHA YES. This was one of my favorite things too and I also did it first! 😁😁
Thanks for watching!
Someone else's probably, to this but if you go outside diamond City there's a room that can only be accessed with a jetpack in power armor in his very hard to get to when leaving diamond city if you go to the left of the stadium sticking to the road you'll find an abandoned building that's filled with traps across from that building on top of the stadium there's a room that has a couple mini nukes and a couple ammo containers and I don't know if this is just a me thing but the loot in this room responds or at least the loot that's not in containers
I got the homerun achievment by just running around exploring, and I was so confused. (I thought I had to use a baseball grenade or smth)
There is a secret spot near pipers home where you can steal anything and no one can see you
I love this city !
"You bored? Run the bases, just trust me"
There is also a hidden room on the outside of the stadium that has power armor in it
To answer your question- the followers of atom lol
Vanilla diamond city feels more like a Diamond village
Missed the mini nuke and power armor station at the top of the green gate
5% damage bonus for your Gatlinglaser Terminator feels very useful)
Interesting Easter Egg: In Fallout 4, along one of the corners of The Boston Commons, there’s a door to an underground bar you can enter. This takes you to the place “where everybody knows your name.” I’m referring to The Bull & Finch Pub, a real bar in Boston and the inspiration for the 1980’s TV show Cheers. If you’re a fan of the show, there’s lots of Easter eggs.
I remember back in oblivion you'd find unique gear for roof hoping now its just generic randomly generated. For ever one thing they get right theres 2 more they get wrong.
