Dear Ram' Please help me. I don't know what the heck i'am doing. I brought the Magic Jack. I plug it into the fax maching and the usb on my laptop. Now im stuck.
Once you have the Magic Jack software talking to the Magic Jack hardware, via USB & the Magic Jack is programmed with your settings, you no longer need the Magic Jack plugged into your machine. Unplug the Magic Jack into a USB charging plug to provide power to the device & you should be good to go. Just make sure you have the Ethernet cable coming from your router or switch & the phone cable going to your fax machine. www.wikihow.com/Install-MagicJack-Plus
So Ethernet cable to the Magis Jack and the RJ11 cable has to be plugged into the magic Jack and the other end of the RJ11 cable into fax machine? Is that right
This is a cool idea. So I tried it and it was hit and miss. Some faxes would go through but then other faxes wouldn’t. I do have a very strong WiFi connection, but it still was hit and miss just wondering, should I connect it directly to my cable modem?
I used CoCo Fax vs. this and it's works. Saved me 35k during Covid-19 when the guy at Office Depot sent my paperwork to me in stead of them 🎉 You need something to scan the documents. 7.99 an you can fax 200 pages. I think I'm just going to get a magic jack with the VOIP phone number for 30 a year and buy a legit fax machine tho cause when you need to fax you need to fax.
Why pay $1 a month when you can pay $30 a year? :/ Seems to me that the bigger question is does Magic Jack promise not to sell your info to every spammer?
I have had Magic Jack for years - my wife MUST have a house phone AND a cell phone or I WILL be sleeping on the couch. I do have FIOS but I will be setting up my Brother ALL-in-One (*toner, I got tired of buying ink every time it dried up in the machine), to give it a try. Thanks.
Goofy talks as though FAX machines are worthless. There is one use that is very valuable. We have an elderly relative who is deaf. She can't talk over the phone. FAXes are an excellent way to communicate with her. In fact, she finds a hand-written FAX to convey closeness with her relatives. She is nearly 100 years old and mailed letters were a popular form of communication in her youth and still for the survivors of her generation. A FAX is the closest thing to that form of communication.
wouldn't text, email, and video calls(for hand signing) be easier alternatives to that? All three function can be found on modern phones, if she is able to learn how to text/email
@@Chemeleon15 Thank you, but she is also close to blind. Screens are difficult for her to decipher. We use our phones to FAX to her so that she can retrieve the paper copy and decipher it with a high powered magnifying device. I have the information I need to do this task. Thank you very much for your concern.
Agree! Actually, I think FAX machines DO have their place. Just in a modern world, so many people are getting rid of POTS phone systems & going to an internet connection only. I fondly remember my mother FAXING me the box image of Angle Food Cake for my birthday, my favorite cake. She would make a cake for me every birthday.. :). When we were no longer living close, the FAX machine served its purpose.
Well fax machine is easy that email 📧 whenever you got the email by phone is hard to get especially when it’s a long stupid email. Fax it’s simple and easy numbers.
If you have to buy a magic jack and subscription then buy an ol' fax machine why not just pay for a fax app and use a scanner/ printer? Most people don't have an ol' fax machine laying around. lol...
Thank you so much. You are right I work for the VA and they still depend on FAX. Uggg.....you are awesome and funny. Thank you

That's what I would do. A direct input to my modem/router. *-----Q-----*
You want to avoid any latency on your network connection. Yes, you want to be on hard line.
do they supply a # to receive faxes?
Yes

How do you get your fax number or do you use your cell number?
This process replaces a standard dialup line. You will get your phone number from MagicJack.
Thanks.
Sure! Hope the video helps! :). Let me know if it all works out for you! Sleeping on the couch isn’t so bad. I kinda prefer it! :)

In the long run, magicJack is cheaper… of course it depends on the frequency of your use of a fax machine.
