The sailor uniform that Miyamura was trying on was Hori's middle school uniform. She pinned a note on it telling him to try it on when he got the chance.
Also, tattoos are super taboo in Japan. It is getting better with the younger generations, but there are still a bunch of places that won't let you in with visible tattoos, especially public baths and hot springs.

Well in Japan you can't have tattoos until you are 18 years old. That's why he tried to cover it until he's graduate. Also Japan had a long history of tattoo discrimination. Hope you check that out.
