- In this special edition of The Full Scale Fishing Adventures, Lubin is away for a week living in his boat and he is taking you all with him! This is not an ordinary video for TFS but a one off vlog where Lubin travels the river in search of the famous Murray cod. There is a heap of good information to be had as Lubin explains the how, what and why when it comes to how he fishes for Murray cod. This style of fishing has its ups and downs which you don't usually get to see in regular videos. So get comfy as this is the longest upload The Full Scale has done yet! We really hope you enjoy it!

wow that 1mrr was beautiful just love how u don't try to lift them out of the water, the river looks amazing a hard fishing but that's fishing great video
That first cast that sound so much anticipation
Great vid mate
Thanks Lubin. What a brutally honest video, just shows not every day on the river is warm and sunny and not every cast equals a fish. Would we have it any other way? Nah. That's why we fish. Well done, Loved the video.
Cheers Mark. Its all about the adventure on the river really! thanks for watching
Great videos and your fire lighter is the best
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Inspiring viewing. Did I say thanks?
Caught you on Cod Almighty, following my first cod encounter.
Been getting educated since thanks to your relentless efforts.
I don't envy many or much, but I do like your tinny, makes my canoe blush.
Awesome journey mate, really enjoyed watching it 👊👍
That last sunrise wow , icing on the cake. What a great trip thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for watching mate! And yes sometimes the fish is really just a bonus 👍🏻🎣
And again, just informative. Also a little bit validation in regards to casting for week and only managing a few fish. I question my sanity and life choices after about 6 hours and wonder what I’m doing wrong.. love it luben 👌
Thanks heaps mate!
Thanks so much for a great video. Extremely generous of you to have such a long video with great information in it, it's not just the time on the water that you have given up its also time editing as well. I hope I can remember half of the wisdom that you dropped in the video. Plus it's also great to see a world class fisherman go a day without snagging one, makes us mere mortals feel a little better. Haha.
Keep them coming I will keep watching them for sure.
You're very welcome! I actually really enjoyed the whole filming process and don't worry I blank plenty of days on the water!
How good is the wukka wukka music…..was waiting for you to get your kit off!😂
🤣
Wow man! Just needed some late 90’s punk music to fire ya up in the morning. The format shows what it takes. Keep em coming. 💪💪💪
Hahah thanks mate! There may have been in a bit in between clips ;)
Unreal video Lubin, one of the best I've watched on here. Keep em coming!
Cheers mate, great to hear you enjoyed it 🤙
Awesome video mate, this is the best cod fishing video ive seen on the murray river. Cheers!
Thanks mate, appreciate it!
Glad to hear someone else talks to the cockys.
All the time!! haha
As a lure casting jew fisho this gives me a massive appreciation for you big lure casting cod fishos, I thought we were a mad bunch doing our thing with so many casts and fishless nights but you're just our daytime brothers
Back at you man, I admire you guys and the effort you put in. Cod fishing can definitely be a grind we’re just lucky we get to do it during the daytime 😅
Solid watch never a boring moment in that epic location.
Cheers mate, it’s such an incredible river that’s for sure
Just got home from an 8 hour casting session, not a bump! , lite the fire in the shed, cracked a can watched your whole Cod Vlog from start to finish, Loved it :) ....... I'm now in the mood to do it all again tomorrow.
That’s awesome to hear Ray. Hopefully a whopper comes out to play tomorrow 🤙
Finished watching the whole video Mate. You work really hard. Your energy never runs empty. I watched your Cod fishing talks, listened a podcast where you were a guest talking about Cod fishing. You are the CODGUY for me. Keep it up mate
Thank you so much 👍
Wow. What an awesome adventure. Loved every minute of it. No doubt ill be watching it again soon haha. Keep them coming! 👌
Thats fantastic mate, great to hear you enjoyed it!
Love the vid Lubin. I grew up fishing the SA reaches of the Murray as a kid before moving to Qld. Back then it was all bait for Carp and Callop with not a Cod in site. Now i fish for Bass and Barra in the lakes up here but I soooooooo miss the Murray .......... it is such a special place
Yes mate I remember those days growing up when everyone would say there is no cod in the Murray but they've always been there. No other fishery like it in the world. Thanks for watching
Loving these cod videos. How beautiful is the Murray.
It really is! thanks for watching mate
Awesome Lubin 👍🏻
Cheers man!
Awesome mate living the dream!
Cheers man 🤙
Top stuff Lubin, thanks for goin to all the effort to share with us.
Glad you enjoyed it
I love your dedication bro! Thats what is about when you want to target specific fish. The cod are such a treasure and such a special fish to catch and i know they don't come easy. I've caught a few in my local yarra River. Always release them . To special to kill. I've seen some of your fly fishing stuff in magazines I've bought in the past. Have you had a crack at th cod on fly? Anyways, much respect and admiration to the way you fish and conduct yourself as a bloke that cares about the future of fishing and the environment that productive fishing relies upon. Onya mate.
Thanks for watching! I've done plenty of cod on fly in smaller rivers but usually just use conventional tackle in the big river. Thanks heaps for such kind words mate.
Great watch mate. Good to see in depth what you gurus go through just to catch one fish
Cheers Blair!
Yasss! Louie and I love the format 😉
Perfect for cooking up a storm 😀
Fish on what a beautiful hobby
It sure is, thanks for watching
just found channel !! luv every minute cant beat the murray
Welcome and thanks for watching!
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 just wondering do you use barbless hooks ??
What an awesome vid , first time seen your vid , well done , really really enjoyable 👍
Welcome aboard! thanks for watching mate
Now i have to find the start of it all lol
Great vid mate, really shows the time and work involved to get connected with a S.A Murray Cod.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love your vids, what pound braid and leader do you use, me also what type of leader knot do you use?
Great vlog mate! Keep them coming 🎣
Thanks man!
Corellas and Cockatoo screaming chorus very synonymous with cod fishing down south... I always went with the theory if I can see my outboard prop then the cod can see my lures...What hard bodies and twinspin are you throwing Lubin??? I miss the whole adventure down that way very inspiring...kudos to you mate regards B.J.
Thanks for watching mate. Usually throw 90-120mm long shallow (1-3m) and deep cranks (3-7m) and then 1oz twin arms with size 8 blades
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 thankyou for replying to me Lubin... I was just curious to the brandnamed products you use for example the twinspin is it a TT lure or a Bassman??? and hard bodies are you using a plethora of hard bodies or are you restricted to just the one brand??? Depth wise you seem to have all the Angles covered...My interest stems from being a "tackle rat" in regards to gear in possession and used...Also since your so handy with a fly tying vice I thought you may have joined my train of thought and created some custom tackle of your own... for example a giant fly of some construction like marabou or bucktail tied up on a conventional jig for Cod or callop??? A giant woolly bugger or something that may fit the description....regards B.J.
Good stuff mate love the long videos, shows it how it really is !
Awesome to hear mate!
Great trip mate
Thanks Peter!
That was brilliant Lp
Thanks Rachel!
Loving it, Cheers for sharing your adventures!
Thanks for watching!
Love your passion for these fish was a great vid love that l can hear nature instead of thumping music dont know too many fishos that take a boom box with them mayb lm just an old bloke
Thanks very much Robert. Nature is a huge part of why I love the river, we are incredibly lucky to have so much of it. Great to hear you enjoyed the vlog.
Another great video. These are the best vid's going around in my opinion. Do you do much trolling for cod?
Many thanks mate. I used to do heaps and heaps of trolling but not anymore.
I really enjoyed this one
Great to hear :)
Love it.
Cheers mate!
Loved the video and appreciate you emparting your knowledge with us. Still waiting for my first Cod but now i have just bought a boat hopefully it wont be to far around the corner.
Cheers mate, great to hear you got something out of it. I'm sure you'll crack one soon!
Great type of video, longer the better. Will you be fishing for cod at any other locations this winter?
Thanks for watching mate. Yep, hopefully we'll get a bit more cod fishing in before the end of August.
Hi Lubin, I am heading to Morgan next week, do not know that area at all. Any tips apart from cast cast cast.
Mate! Unreal video!!!
Glad you liked it!! great to hear fro you mate. Cheers for watching
What sort of line do you use? Great 🎞 so far!
50lb Platypus Super Braid
Loved every minute!
Cheers man
Dedicated! Awesome vlog
Cheers, they never come easy!
Just found the channel and enjoy your vids. Regarding that mystery bust off at the leader knot you referred to, are you using flurocarbon?
Thanks for watching! Na not fluorocarbon that was while using monofilament
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 Well done for using nylon. Flurocarbon has huge issues with knot durability. In a casting situation situation like that where your knot is going in and out ,hitting your guides all the time, its particularly suspect. Best to refer to nylon, and not call it monofilament, because flurocarbon is monofilament as well. The yanks started mis naming it like this so you're not to blame. Jeez that stretch of the Murray looks awesome. My other hobby is wildlife photography so I could really lose myself down there. Thanks for the reply.
Great video thank you! When you say the flows have increased and “shows over” what time of year is that usually? Cheers.
Thanks for watching mate. It’s anyone’s guess when they change the flows in the river unfortunately, I’m yet to find a pattern. Last year it was cranking by July and this year was different. I just keep an eye on the MDBA website everyday of the season
Hi Lubin , what type of gloves or even brand would you suggest that I get for casting in the cold weather ?
cheers
Kevin
Hi Kevin, I like waterproof snow gloves for cold weather cod fishing. There’s a few different ones around, just get a pair that you can cast with as they can make it difficult.
Hey mate great video are you using the 7'11 extra heavy swimbait rod? And what reel?
Thanks mate! If you check out the description theres links for all the gear used during the vid
@@thefullscale-fishingadvent2917 cool cheers mate keep up the good work
Where abouts in the Murry river in South Australia are you catching the Murry cod an yellow bally
Mate you should do that but have bait on a well
I never fish bait for cod 🤷♂️ but thanks for watching 🤙
The Full Scale - Fishing Adventures that is good but we lived they for many years
They are butterfull fish
Do you prefer fishing parallel to the bank or mix it up mate?
Both!
🔥
What number lock did you catch them at
Lock one mate
where on the murray is this?
In South Australia mate 🤙
What's the use of catch and release ? I mean you could at least keep one and eat it..
You can keep the golden perch which I do quite often but Murray cod cannot be removed from the water by law in SA
