Usually headlines is in present tense. Why is the headlines in using past tense?

These are actually in the present not the past, but they are using the passive form. So, 'RUclipsr jailed...' is a reduced form of the present passive: "RUclipsr IS jailed...". I hope that helps

Doesn't seem so. From what I read it follows that his present jailing is for “obstructing a federal investigation” because he hid the traces. Could be other charges will follow.
Anyway imho you two are staging stuntly and wonderfully at the same time, especially in this episode - jumping from word to word, driving the listeners cognitions...

A social media influencer has gone to jail after crashing a plane deliberately for a RUclips video. Trevor Jacob, an experienced pilot and skydiver, jumped out of the plane while filming himself on a selfie stick. He staged there were engine problems and later he tried to cover the crash.

3) Stunt (n) - an exciting action usually in a film or TV show that is dangerous; something done for attention.
Exp: He wants to become a stunt artist who can jump off cliffs or drive fast cars.
They did a publicity stunt to get the attention of the public.
