- Next up in the Ford F100 build, I install the twin beam front suspension as well as the shortened coil springs. We also look at some parts I had to make myself, because they not readily available where I live in South Africa...

I really like the way you explain your thinking things out. I guess you can bend the I beams in the end to adjust the camber.
Thank you. Yes, bending the beams is the only way to adjust camber. Not an easy thing to do!

Hey Duffy, I'm watching your videos as they come up on my search. Not even close to in order. So if it seems I'm jumping around with comments, I am!:) That frame looks pretty shiny to me :) Ha! My 1964 F100 is the last year of the solid front axle. Also the last year of leaf front springs. When I bought the truck last year it came with a disc brake conversion for the solid axle as well as a Crown Vic front suspension assembly. At least three people before me started and abandoned this poor old truck :( I got a trailer full of parts and a rolling ( barely) chassis for $2000 USD. What fun!:) Right up my alley. I kept the solid front axle and have no regrets. Drives like a dream except no power steering. Not available in 1964 F100. I'm sure that would have been one advantage to using the Crown Vic front end. I've powered it with a 351M coupled with a C6 transmission. Moved pretty sweet. Still have the cab corners to replace, which I should have done when I had the cab off. Never said I was smart:) It's great watching another older guy like me ( 71 ) have fun in the shop. No problem with jumping around, I do it all the time!😆 Real men dont stress about power steering man! 😅 64 F100 is nice! Enjoy the project.
Hey john im doing the cfown vic swap on my 66 f100 im going to keep the rack and pinion so i get to keep power steering much easier
Lucky you! The Crown vic suspensions are not available down here...
Spring washers or lock nuts (nylocks) should be used on those bolts.

Hey Sean. I got the truck with double shocks upfront, one on either side of beam. Some research confirmed that the extra shock was an aftermarket add on. The standard version had only one shock behind the beam. So, I will keep that one.
Your front suspension doesn’t have shocks? I didn’t see you install them.
No it does have shocks, I probably only installed them later.
What paint did you use to paint the parts
Hi Jamie. Not sure where you are, so dont know if the brand name will be relevant, but I use Hammerite. it is a direct to metal paint, no primer required.
A good nick is not necessarily a fair cop??
