GO PAULA! She's one of my top 5 favorite singers in the world, and I've had the great joy of seeing her live twice in NYC. And I even got to meet her, and she was, as expected, incredibly humble and gracious. Love you, Paula!
I have loved your music for 25 years. You need to write a musical. You tell stories in such dreamy, emotional, haunting, brilliant, mesmerizing way girl. Do it!
They are right about who should run the music business..invest in independent not major labels and recording engineers...and right about the environment. 💯 Now I'm a fan of Paula as a human. 🙂
I love her voice and Peter gabriel is who turned her onto me. I think her rendition of don't give up has the most power for me. (though I love both kate bush and Ane brun who sing it beautifully) when I was in hs "where have all the cowboys gone" was so overplayed and I never cared too much for it (probably because of the repetition mostly) but recently I remembered her and how I always meant to check out her other music. So much time later, and I'm sorry Paula for it taking so long, because I do think her voice is incredible and I'm excited to hear her voice more intimately and not in brainless airwaves. Ane brun also loves joni mitchell (who I never really listened to..and I'm beginning to think I missed something there..so joni is going to be explored and gotten to know next.)
I mostly got into her through peter gabriel too..favorite duet of "don't give up". Peter knows how to harmonize and highlight amazing female voices that seem to be the female version of himself (if that makes sense)
It's practically the Joni Mitchell version of Joni. Woodstock is my favorite Joni Mitchell song, but only in the style she sings it (which Paula is doing very well here!). I'm so impressed with Paula Cole's vocals. A lot of artists I like from the 90s have lost quite a bit of resonance and range, which is totally normal as people age.
Very impressive. It's very hard to pull off a Joni cover. The only other singer I've heard with depth and imagery was was k.d. lang. Most others sound like contrived 3rd-rate covers.
So much wokeness... aka preachiness. She's amazingly gifted. One of a very few who "still got it," after so many years, but too much message for my taste. I listen to music to be entertained, not to receive a life lesson. Her voice is fantastic, though. Amazing, really.
Music comes from the soul, and the soul interprets what matters to people, and voices and music express that. I don't find her preachy at all, just matter of fact explaining her feelings and thoughts behind her music, which every artist does. She is woke. It's beautiful. If you want meaningless music or want to take the meaning out, that is your perogative ..but let's not insult her.
"Why are we not Hong Kong right now?" Because we already have a democratic republic that allows you to say what you want. The very reason you were not pulled from this studio by storm troopers for saying that.
The fact that this doesn't have 10m likes says everything about how far we've fallen from appreciation of real music. jfc
She is getting better, unbelievably.
An otherworldly voice, overlooked genius.
Her phrasing is so clean
Came here after watching Peter Gabriel Live. Wow, I cannot believe her voice. And I could listen to her talk about her life all day, wonderful.
GO PAULA! She's one of my top 5 favorite singers in the world, and I've had the great joy of seeing her live twice in NYC. And I even got to meet her, and she was, as expected, incredibly humble and gracious. Love you, Paula!
Gopala. Lol...
Incredible intense rendition of that Joni Mitchell song, filled with feeling and complexity. Amazing. Great place to be doing music too.
Perfect! Best version ever!
Paula did an amazing cover of Woodstock! Completely blown away. Her voice is magic.

Paula can sing with a vibrato voice just like Joni Mitchell did on Woodstock. Wow, so good, an what a cover of a song for the ages.

Forgot what a powerful voice she has - which is no worse for the wear. Great "Woodstock" cover; needed that.
Still got it - still Paula - still amazing
Undertow Awesome ! Well Done 👍🏽
Beautiful and brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyed your performance... :)
You mentioned Silent was a long song. It's a beautiful song that I wish was longer actually…..exquisite!
If you're talented all you need is 10 fingers and a voice to entertain. Paula Cole's cup runneth over.
omg ... That was beautiful... I need a tissue...
Tmi
Thanks for sharing this !

I loved her voice “ where have all the cowboys gone “ on that song… loved the beat..
Alucinante
Please someone, let Paula sing for Joni...& us at the Kennedy Center.
this is precious... sadly Paula has been overlooked since the Amen album..
Super , I like it
Amazing.... did not know her until I saw a Peter Gabriel video recently....
I mostly got into her through peter gabriel too..favorite duet of "don't give up". Peter knows how to harmonize and highlight amazing female voices that seem to be the female version of himself (if that makes sense)
the 90's version of Joni Mitchell. So passionate and so natural, bursting with talent

Phenomenal talent. The music industry is garbage.

carrie, by cyndi laupner. joni tribute
Ane Brun covers joni mitchell well, and so has Tori amos.
Carey by Cyndi Lauper is a sublime performance.
Ufff,,
This is HILARIOUS!!!
Thank YOU
And next we have the native American from "return to innocence"
Whaaaaaa-highhhhh-e-y-oh-why
No
Shout out to the invisible drummer in the corner.

OK? She has sooo many other bops to choose from. This one just so happened to be a story telling song. Or maybe just go listen to Katy Perry?

sorry but she never was a beauty, on the contary...
