I have baby fine hair and people always say that I can’t use heavy oils or lotion. But I think the caveat is I also have high porosity hair (no chemicals or heat usage) and I live in tropical south Florida. Only heavy leave ins work for me. I find it hard to go to hair stylist because they don’t consider the totality of my baby fine, 3B, medium to lower density hair and never use enough product. They always say I don’t need much because my hair is like white people (which I find offensive). I even had one tell me I didn’t need a leave in and only a gel. By the next day my hair was a dry tangled mess. Almost $200 dollars down the drain because I had to wash it. I just wanted to offer that up. I really don’t know anyone who has hair like me. Do you find clients like me? What leave ins would you suggest. The only one that worked for me was shea moistures extra moisturizing detangler but they changed the formula and the new one doesn’t work for me. So when that happened I went around broward county and brought up all the old bottles I could find-14. I figured that would last me 3 years…it’s been a year and a half and I probably only have 1.5 years left. Please, any suggestions would be appreciated. FYI-the first ingredient in my old leave in was glycerin but I can’t find any other ones with that as a first ingredient. Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the length.
Hey fellow curly I don't hv fine hair, but I also feel as if my curls need a unique type of leave in: I've settled on using two, one after the other. Perhaps that could work for you? I hv medium texture - in fact similar to Nia's - and I found that lighter leave ins fed my curl pattern really well but evaporated too soon and heavier leave ins were sitting on top or too stiff. So I found a heavier one that gave a good base of coverage (Tabitha Brown's line) and after waiting 10 or 15 mins finish with my favorite lighter one (Curls blueberry bliss). It's pretty much perfect (finding both qualities in one product would be perfect). Just an idea for you. 💕
Your hair is absolutely GORGEOUS! 😍
