- 🇨🇦 Effective March 19th, only spouses of students pursuing masters, PhD, or specific professional degrees will be eligible for open work permits. However, existing open work permits for spouses remain valid for extension.

After applying PGWP in Canada i traveled to India for 3 months .and Got diagnosis with infection leading towards Tuberculosis of lymph NON CONTAGOUS (not in lungs as asked in forms on ircc applications). then got back to canada got workpermit approved. got health card and saw doctors here done through diagnosis again found similar results. treatment was optional as doctor suggested. but i choose to get treatment for 6 months. no i am 2 months far from my completion of treatment. and 1 month far from 1 year experience for CEC under skill trade category based application. now can i apply? or would it be misrepresentation for not notifying ircc for TB while process PGWP application. or i simply apply EE and then explain while submitting file.

What is student is in post graduate diploma and he will get his work permit after two months ? And then he plans for his spouses.
Can you please tell me do we have to become permanent residence of 5 years before sponsoring our spouse in canada?
What if both you and your spouse got through in sept 2023 but you differed to sept 2024 will your spouse still be eligible to enter Canada
Will the spouse be still eligible for sowp under old rules of study if the prinicple applicant goes from student to pgwp to student again but the spouse is on spouse open work permit as the spouse of pgwp with skilled occupation?

Hello sir. I have a question. Our application was submited in July 2023 and approved in september 2023, our passports have the Canadian visa for work and study. I will study at a college for two-year program. Does that mean my husband will get his open work permit at the port of entry with no issues even thought we will travel after March 19th? Can you suggest , my spouse is in US on H1B and they got their W1 open work permit last year. Then I applied being the spouse of W1 Worker and also got an W1 open work permit last month. My spouse is going to continue working in US on H1B but I am planning to move to Canada to work and stay for two years. Is this something I can do when my spouse stays in US and continue on H1B and I move to Canada on the W1 work permit. Basically I need to understand that my W1 open work permit is an independent one and my spouse doesn't need to be in Canada for me to work and stay in Canada. Thank you.
I have applied my spouse visa on November 11th 2023 and so far didn't get the visa, i am a Jan 2024 intake student.. And already took the second year course as well in February 2024.so in this case will I get the spouse visa extension? as my spouse's application is in progress. Please let me know

My fiancé arrived here in last January with two year PG diploma program and we just got married last month.
So, based on her may I able to extend my work permit or convert PGWP to SOWP after this changes?

Sir, spouse is graduating next month, and will be applying for PGWP using outside Canada (from the US) option. Considering she will on PGWP, will I be eligible to apply for SOWP? She is currently a student in a public college.
PGWP holders are eligible to apply for SOWP if they are working

@@AskKubeir what if pgwp is expiring and principle applicant wants to get study permit on diploma in public college again and can the spouse get work permit as spouse of student when the existing status is spouse of the skilled worker.
