A Look Inside Prince Charles' House

- Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have been living together for almost 20 years. They are sharing their time together between several royal engagements but when they are done with their duty, they spend most of their time in their home known as Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.
Charles bought the property in 1980 from the son of former UK Prime Minister Harold Macmillan, and it's remained his home away from home ever since. He even raised Prince William and Prince Harry there when they were little.
The Highgrove estate is fit for a king, with nine bedrooms and six bathrooms, but it's the expansive gardens that have since become one of the most famous parts of the estate. Charles loves to garden, and he's turned Highgrove House into a masterpiece of his gardening hobby.
Imagination creativity and passion. Additionally love and kindness to nature. A great Prince, a King, and wonderful human being.
Gardens fit for a King. Absolutely 💯 beautiful. 👏👏👏
A very positive and creative approach to cultivation of land and property. A sustainable, beautiful garden escape!
The gardens are worth visit. Delightful
I love English garden,they are gorgeous.I wish I could visit this place.❤️
English gardens are typically rustic. Highgrove is a very beautiful example of it.
Simply beautiful.
Beautiful place
So admire Prince Charles for his visionary dream for the gardens of his beloved home.
So appreciate the content of this video .

Hello, thank you for sharing your lovely home and reaching out. It is greatly appreciated to be connected. Stay blessed!!
Oh how I wish I had a garden like that. Its absolutely beautiful, HRH must be extremely pleased with the outcome.
This showed more of the grounds than the inside of the house.
This is just glorious. I wish.....!
Oops…..something happened to the INSIDE tour!
I’ve had the pleasure if visiting and the garden is beautiful. It’s a magical place to walk around. There is love in this garden, it’s joyful . One thing in this coverage annoys me though, and that is the continued use of Camilla’s former name. She’s Prince Charles’ rock solid soulmate.
Visiting the gardens is on my bucket list altho I doubt I will be fortunate enough to actually visit in person.
DM you must try to visit. I went about 5 years ago and it is truly beautiful. You really feel as though you are somewhere very special.
I very much doubt if he has a double bed in his drawing room!! (see 1.33)
I love the garden but I thought we were going to see more of the inside of the house 🤔
It must still be available as I saw a documentary with Prince Charles showing us around inside the house. It makes you want to snuggle down on the sofa for a while. Sort of nestle in. Not ostentatious just home comfort.
@@tinasteer2507 None of the private royal houses or apartments are ostentatious. Smart and comfortable. The pictures here are as it was before Prince Charles bought it of course.
He bought it to be closer to Camilla before he got married.
Inspiring
We've all seen the gardens. That's not the interior
Wonderful 🌄🍃 🌅🍃🌄
Garden - Art ❤
Are you sure that was a drawing room? Kind of looks like a bedroom to me.
Such an nice, sophisticated, beautifull, charming and exclusive Estate. with such beautifull flowers in the gardens. I think the Royal couple live very happy in good harmony at their Estate! God Bless Them Both and Their kids, grandchildren, the Queen and all family members!! r.m.n. H.
Abraham Lincoln was quite proud of his log cabin.
Only a multi-million/Billionaire could financial sustain a property and garden like this.
Gorgeous place fit for a king and sweet Diana. May she had lived long happy life with her kids and husband here. She is the one who did the interiors, lovely.
Very little happiness sadly. She wanted a Happily Ever After Life since her childhood.
What you heard was a typical "Diana version" of the story, including the notion that she thought that it was "rather improper" of him to as her about the decoration since they were not engaged.
The FACTS were very different.
Diana INSISTED that Charles took her there, and it was indeed "improper" because an unmarried, unchaperoned you lady (presumed a virgin) should NOT have been there for a weekend. But she had insisted.
Charles, so as NOT to COMPROMISE the virginal young woman, (because her being there really was unsuitable), rang a married female friend and asked her to be there, as chaperone. The married female friend was, of course, the reliable, kindly, Camilla.
Diana, who was there almost certainly against Charles wishes and with the express purpose of placing him in a position where he SEEMED to have "compromised" her, was FURIOUS when Camilla opened the door. If she was not suspicious of their relationship before that date, she perceived Camilla as her worst enemy from then on,.
So that visit did not go quite as the scheming young would-be-wife of the World's Most Eligible-Bachelor intended.
The next time Diana went to Highgrove, she simply packed a bag and turned up unexpectedly.
She didn't LIKE Highgrove, and scowled when it was mentioned in their engagement interview, but she DID want to marry the Prince of Wales.
It has been said that Prince Philip told Charles to marry her, and so he did. But it wasn't that simple.
The Duke said that as Diana had stayed two weekends at Charles' house, the second without a chaperone, then her character/virginity/marriageability had been "compromised", i.e. it appeared that they had probably had sexual intercourse together, even if they had not.
Under those circumstances, a GENTLEMAN ought to marry the young lady, rather than have her appear as "damaged goods".
Thgis all seems terribly old-fashioned thinking, given that it was happening in about 1970.
But the Duke was correct about what was considered appropriate conduct for a Prince and a Gentleman.
Diana, by staying two weekends at Highgrove, had succeeded in manipulating Prince Charles into a position where he had no choice except to propose marriage.
@@MandyJMaddison Spot on comment. It's surprising how many people still want to believe the Diana fairy tale. Must be something missing in their own lives.
The interior decoration is post Diana. She took no interest in Highgrove.
He bought highgrove to be closer to Camilla, She was there hosting his dinner parties when diana was in London etc..the staff found it very difficult when diana questioned them...naughty Charlie !
Almost magical. Their is a lot to be said for creating such a master piece.
what a gorgeous estate!
Would love to visit these beautiful gardens!
Thank
@1:32 - the drawing room has a big double bed in it!!
The gardens are beautiful but the video is supposed to be about the inside of the house
Legally, this is no longer Charles's property, but William's (as the new Duke of Cornwall).
Wasn't it bought personally by Charles as his personal property not the firms property
Wow get a grounds keeper royal boy. That pond needs major attention.
Very nice gute angland
Forever in my hart♥️
So sweet
"A look inside prince Charles' house" A more likely title "A look at Prince Charles' garden"
🇬🇧👑️🌹❤
I did not know drawing rooms had beds in them
The title inside I thought gonna see kitchen and all, but . . . .
So great ,so personalised charles’s property. In fact,he has bought it.The most important
for him was his very beautiful garden ,but not his very cosy home.Certainly he won’t never
leave it ,and die there.
Quite different from william, elisabeth 2 has given him and kate 2 homes ,kesington palace
and anmer hall.William doesn’t care about garden, about anything, but just to sleep and eat
It's a wonderful property. I read a lot about it. HRHPC is very talented in garden design. But how long are we to hear the old Diana story, while the Duchess of Cornwall is condescendingly called Camilla Parker Bowles. Missed the present?
Well said!
It is not appropriate to call the ladies of the royal family by their name and surname.
However if HRH the Duchess of Cornwall has a surname, it is neither Shand, which was her surname name before her first marriage, nor Parker Bowles, her first husband's family name.
If we have to use a surname to refer to HRH the Duchess of Cornwall that name would have to be Windsor, which is the name of the ruling house to which her husband, HRH the Prince of Wales, belongs.
After the Prince ascends the throne, she will be Her Majesty Queen Camilla.
@@a.t.c.3862 right!
@@a.t.c.3862 Camilla could use Princess of Wales as her title as it is legally hers, but she does not ...
@@anneroy4560 Diana, Princess of Wales was divorced from her husband, so she would never have been styled Queen Consort upon Prince Charles's accession. It is therefore not a title that should be denied her out of some misguided sense of 'respect' for Diana's memory, or in order to 'avenge' her.
Sadly, marriages do break down, and sadly some couples should never have married, but we are all human and humans make mistakes, and we all have a right to move on, and get on with our lives - all of us do.
Sadly, accidents do happen. When Diana tragically died in Paris, she was no longer married to the Prince of Wales, she was in the care of Mr. Al Fayed's private security, having refused police protection, and among other things, she was not wearing a seat belt.
It all happened a quarter of a century ago, it's time to... move on.
Charles and Camilla have been brilliant for this country and the Commonwealth - and will continue to be brilliant as King and Queen.
@@a.t.c.3862 Thank you.
Sometimes I feel like the voice of one crying in the wilderness.
This was probably Highgrove BEFORE Charles bought it !!
The interior pictures are from when it was for sale in 1980.
This is very disappointing. The title of this video is supposed to be about the inside of prince Charles house. Why are you showing just the gardens?
Click bait. The pictures of the inside are when it was for sale in 1980. It's his private home and there are very few interior pictures in the public domain.
Beautiful gardens but not much as far as styling the inside of the house...

Shame No Camila suppose to be PRINCESS DIANA THE BEAUTIFUL AND BELOVED DIANA
🇬🇧Good for them‼️👏
I like them both👍🇬🇧
WHY??
ماذا عن الأميرة ديانا 😔💔
The interior images aren't of Highgrove . Misleading.
Did Camila really hear this? Conscience oh conscience where are you?
This video was going very nicely until the very last words. Why, oh why did you refer to the Duchess of Cornwall by her divorced name? You may as well have referred to her by her maiden name, Camilla Shand! She as been married to the Prince of Wales since 2005. Please refer to her correctly and edit your audio. Ask any divorced woman is they want to be referred to by their ex's name.
Fancy having his mistress now wife living in the home of his sons mother, now that’s what l call different
Diana never liked Highrove. She didn't like being in the country.
Highrove was their weekend home.
But Diana preferred to be in London at Kensington Palace!
However Charles used to let Diana and James Hewitt stay at Highrove with the boys!
It's beautiful! The narrative said this was one of several homes. I've always followed the royals, but I've become disenchanted with them lately. Why is it that Charles needs more than one home? How much is the upkeep of these homes? I've heard all the arguments about how appropriate how they spend money, however their salaries & decadence are way above the top. They will fight to keep what's theirs, but at the expense of all the poor in Great Britain?
I take it from your comment that you are not British. The entire Monarchy costs each citizen less than a cup of coffee. Prince Charles lives in Highgrove mainly and has a house on the Isles of Scilly - Tresco to be exact called Dolphin House, Dolphin House is rented out as a holiday home when the Royals are not in residence - it is part of the Duchy of Cornwall. The Royals pay taxes like everyone else and they are not decadent - they live fairly frugally and they recycle their clothes so you will always see the women in something they have worn before and they rarely buy new.
Most people are fed up of Prince Harry and his wife spouting lies to anyone who will listen and Harry whines that he no longer has pocket money from his dad. We are very proud of our Monarchy and love the Queen, Princess Anne and her family, Prince Charles & Camilla, Prince Edward & Sophie and Prince William & Catherine and their children. We love these Royals who put duty to the UK and The Commonwealth first - you don't see any of them hawking their titles around Hollywood.

He bought in the 80’s because it’s next door to Camilla’s. It made things easier for him.
He bought the house because it came up for sale at that time, was conveniently near the Duchy of Cornwall, and because it had a large area of land that was ideal for creating the sort of landscape garden that he wanted.
No doubt the proximity to his friends the Parker-Bowles had something to do with it.
But if you think that his brief arrangement with Camilla in about 1978-79 continued into his marriage, then letme point out that there is NO EVIDENCE to support that story, and VERY GOOD EVIDENCE to support Camilla's statement that they got back together in 1986, after the marriage with Diana was completely broken down because of her infidelity.
You will observe that Charles is a faithful, devoted, patient , supportive sort of person (as well as being visionary, hard-working, dedicated and highly intelligent) .
...and that Diana was NEVER happy for more than a brief fling, was NEVER satisfied with the man who was shagging her, broke up two marriages apart from her own, and harassed one man's wife until she took out a court order to have Diana restrained.
And you want to believe that Camilla was the problem?
Simplity
should be diania not camilla house which diana predited no affence :(
Diana never liked Highrove! She preferred to be in the city at Kensington Palace.
She didn't like the country!
Misleading title of video. Annoying. Will watch for more of your videos and not watch.
Beautiful and so Diana xx fit for a queen and princess 👸 xx
That is Diana's home
Charles and Camilla do not live together. Camilla has her own beautiful property just a few miles away from Highgrove.🇬🇧
They do live together. She keeps her own house to spend non royal time with her own children and their families.
The gardens are NOT the inside. False advertising, much like the image of those two as some sort of "lovely couple", when they were both adulterers.
Diana was a serial adulterous and guess what? Charles used to let Diana and James Hewitt stay at Highrove with the boys!
Charles house & gardens are beautiful but his heart was deceptively cruel to the Queen of Hearts. Purchased in the 1980's because it's location facilitated his adulterous affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. The man is a cad.
It is easy: no problem for work, no problem for money.........
Nothing interesting
Wasn't really Diana's home this is why Camilla could so easily move in.
According to the book by the Highgrove housekeeper, Diana and their son s lived there alot during their marriage, especially on weekends as escape from London.
@@evitasdad Diana never liked Highrove! She preferred to be in the city.
But Highrove was their private home on weekends!
Around 1986 Camilla spent more time at Highrove and Charles used to let Diana and James Hewitt stay there with the boys as well!

BABYLON
Why!?!🤮
WAIT....we paid for it...then HE charges us to walk thru it??? i dont thinkso
It is paid for with his private funds. No taxpayers money is spent on it. As it happens no taxpayers money is spent on any royal residences. The Sovereign Grant that the government gives The Queen is 20 percent of the income of the private Crown Estate. The government keeps the balance; in fact the monarchy gives the taxpayers more than £300 million a year.
Charles paid for Highgrove personally. It was not paid for by the taxpayers!
Unbelievable - is this what our taxes pay for? What work do they do to deserve this when there are people sleeping on the streets and families suffering hardship. Get rid of the lazy ineffective lot of them!
Even in countries with Presidencies, there is still poverty and the elite still get richer. The Royal Family own a very long genealogy.
@@bonniemagpie5166 so does their genealogy justify the money they receive for ineffective work? We are talking about £82 million a year? Your argument is lame
@BA Our royal family are great ambassadors of this country, try reading and learning some of the good they have achieved instead of all silly hate.
@@milkshake3350 silly hate versus delusional comment from a delusional person - I know which id rather have done!
@Nisha chambiyal lol, Diana was as upper class and expensive as they come!!!!
Outdated houses
u mean WE bought the house..charles is on WELFARE
Rubbish. Who told you that nonsense? It was bought by his Duchy of Cornwall, which provides his income, as it has Princes of Wales for about 800 years. None of the royal residences are paid for by the taxpayers. The Sovereign Grant is 20 per cent of the income of the private Crown Estate. The government keeps 80 percent, so the monarchy gives the taxpayers about £300 million a year. The information is all in the public domain for those who want to educate themselves.
Terribly jarring narration.
Awful accent
No thanks another charity abuser😂🤢😂😂😂
lol this is a total fake like all your videos....these are not the real interiors
