Der Staats- und Domchor Berlin singt Buxtehudes kleine Kantate "Alles, was ihr tut mit Worten oder mit Werken" BuxWV 4 beim ökumenischen Festgottesdienst zur 50-Jahr-Feier der Unterzeichnung der "Römischen Verträge" am 25. März 2007 im Berliner Dom.

It's nice to see the State and Cathedral Choir of Berlin doing both State and Cathedral things at the same time! The soprano solo was easy by baroque standards, but Bach regularly did the same thing -- having the boy soprano intone a hymn from the hymnbook while the orchestra does fancy things -- although in Bach's case he usually was flashier with the orchestra than Buxtehude.

Are there any girl singers in this choir? I note that in the front row from the left there was a singer who wear spectacles and have longer hair than the other boys. I wonder if 'he' was actually a girl.

@@andreasgaiser6305 Thank you for referring me to this article. I agree that, having noted the observation of Dr. Ahrens, that it may not be fair to the boys in a mixed choir, as girls' voices tend to change at a later date than the boys. I think that boys and girls should form separate choirs and they can bring out different musical qualities aesthetically.
