Without refrigeration it seems impossible to keep that much pork, but that's what our foregathers did. Pork was usually preserved with salt. It can be smoked like beef too, soaked in brine and hung up in the rafters of a smoky cabin. I presume you can take a piglet to market and use the proceeds to buy some grain. Fascinating videos - Z
