This is a great announcement! I already have a Cambridge CXNv2 in my main system system in the Den. Can't wait to add the MXN10 to my living/dining space!
This is awesome. I have their CXUHD Oppo clone for my 4k player. I've been streaming Tidal over bluetooth to my Marantz 7011 through a Sabre DAC with LDAC, but I really want a dedicated network streamer. 😮 Lookin at you Cambridge....
Any idea why native Amazon Music HD support is so hard to come by with all but very few network streamers (HEOS, BlueOS, WIIM) ??? Would LOVE to get Cambridge Audio as their products are great value !
@@AudioAdvice I did reach out to Cambridge Audio to triple check and here is their response: "We are keenly interested in Amazon Music integration, however, permission to do so has not yet been forthcoming from Amazon. As such, it is not anticipated nor expected that this will happen." So... it ain't happening at all ! SIGH....

GOOD LUCK !!!
Interesting. Could you clarify what they mean by Tidal support? Does it have Tidal Connect such that I can pass the stream off to the streamer and turn my phone off and the music (album or playlist) keeps playing? Thanks. Oh, also, can DSD files be played from a connected USB flash drive? How do you "see" what is being played or can you?
@@AudioAdvice You said "CXN would be a jump" .. is this statement true even using MXN10 as a transport (vs CXN v2 as a transport as well)? Or is your statement based on output from internal DAC? Thanks!
@@AudioAdvice thanks for the info. I just bought the MXN10 and I like it. I'm using it as a roon endpoint, connecting digital COAX to a Denafrips Ares 12th DAC. I also compared the internal DAC to the Ares and to a Topping D70s. Honestly, the difference is so small, if any. I mean I can only hear tiny difference when I'm really looking for it but otherwise all 3 sound similar.

What do streamers like the Cambridge Audio MXN/AXN/CXN, NAD CS1, Yamaha WXC 50, Arcam ST60, Arylic S50 Pro+ etc have that the WiiM Pro Plus doesn’t? The Arylic is the only one that competes at the price point. The rest are 2x to 3x the cost of the WiiM.
Leon is still creating content for us, however, we've been slowly moving to shorter form videos to make them more digestible. We always appreciate feedback like this so we can continue to improve our future videos. Thanks for watching!
@@AudioAdvice keep on keeping on. Shorter form videos are great. Not everyone has time to use up 30 minutes for a more detailed video. Leon is great as always, but you guys are doing just fine.
Some might think the onboard DAC in the Cambridge is "good enough" and won't be looking to buy an external one. Can't say that for the WiiMs. Not to knock them. I have three of the WiiM Minis and love them very much for what they offer, but yeah, I'm using them with external DACs.
Measurements are absolutely needed to design gear! We may have worded that poorly. We just love that Cambridge has live bands and designs their gear by using both measurements AND real world circumstances to make it sound awesome!

Went for the AXN since it has lots of room inside, planning to upgrade the power supply. Also will get a better power cable.

I have a CXNV2. Not sure how you access Amazon HD but if you can, that would be cool.

We believe that is a feature coming in the future. We misstated that it was already in these devices.
Exactly what I wanted to know! Thanks!
Glad to help!

CXN v2 has Tidal Connect. I have not tried these new ones, but I assume it would be the same, as they use the same Stream Magic app.
@@kjartans.nystad4797 thanks!
Maybe explain how you actually use the thing? Where is the display?
There is no display, you need to use the very good Cambridge app which is extremely simple to figure out. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice So it only works in conjunction with another device?
@@MD-ww4bh Well you do have to connect to an audio system of some sort to get sound, and you control it with your smart phone

...I might as well just buy a Portable Music Player and use that instead.

Reach out to our team of experts at audioadvice.com for more details. We have not reviewed the WiiM.
Bring back Leon, he was more thorough as to why I might want the product.

Why so snarky about engineers using measurements to design gear?
Maturity / confidence or lack of it ? Else there is really no need to denigrate other perspectives as there are no right or wrong answers....
Yeah, let's have engineers not using measurements to design things like aircraft wings or bridges and see how that goes.

Horrible connection with reset every time you try to connect to the unit, no Mqa decoding from tidal, no remote control, no input audio. No thanks.
