      I agree, I let both cars warm up for what was more than enough time but I was limited on time and it takes a full 120 seconds from start up even if the engine is warm so there would be a very long wait lol. Maybe I can fast forward thru it.

      BMW Genius Matt There should be a button in the boot to open up the valves (you can here a beep sound, when they open up), otherwise BMW offers a Bluetoothremote for that. At the beginning of the video you can see that the valves on the m performance exhaust are closed.

      @@swekiller98 These are two different things. As I own a 2018 M2 with the MPE in the meantime, I can confirm that there is no ADDITIONAL button in the trunk in the US like it used to be in EU. That button in the trunk in EU was in addition to the BT remote. Hope, this clarifies :)

    Another great video. This is a perfect example to show where you can save on options when deciding between the stock and M performance exhaust. I agree, there is a slightly more aggressive difference in sound but the stock exhaust sounds more than adequate. For such a huge difference in cost between the options this would totally be a preference most would want but would gladly go for the stock exhaust. Thank you. I find these videos very informative.

    You can cearly see that the valve is closed on the mpe.
    Switching to sport won’t open the valves on the mpe, you have to use the Bluetooth remote, you will clearly hear the valve opening!

    • @bmwgeniusmatt5977
      @bmwgeniusmatt5977  6 лет назад +2

      Unfortunately the Bluetooth remote was missing from the car. All baffles will open by default if you rev the car past around 5-6K RPM but I was not permitted the time to make the video exactly how I would have liked it. This is the best I could do with the time that I had and just to get an idea of the tone difference that BMW wants you to hear when you start the car in an everyday setting.

    • @Starnberger01
      @Starnberger01 6 лет назад +7

      BMW Genius Matt Usually when you push the Button twice on that Bluetooth Remote the Flaps will open instantly.

    • @bmwgeniusmatt5977
      @bmwgeniusmatt5977  6 лет назад +1

      I think I stated earlier in another comment that unfortunately the remote was nowhere to be found in the car. Although the baffles weren't open with the remote, when you rev past a certain RPM all 4 baffles will open by default. The idle sound is the main sound change with the remote. Unfortunately it was a very rushed video and I wasn't permitted the time to make it exactly the way I wanted it.

    • @marktroynatividad5805
      @marktroynatividad5805 6 лет назад +3

      You need the bluetooth remote to open up the outer flaps.. Just got mine.. Track Mode!! Sounds like a beast 👌

    • @Floortile83
      @Floortile83 6 лет назад +4

      That is only correct with the stock exhaust. The MPE exhaust flaps only open with the remote. Stock exhaust uses vacuum to open the flaps, MPE uses electronic cut-offs. So no, the MPE flaps do not open up when the car warms up.

    Good attempt.
    My M performance as you stated sounds different after a few minutes even if turned off for a minute and then restarted will need time again.
    Maybe this could work?
    Face cars towards each other at idle and 5 minutes later without turning them off. Do this test.
    I think would be separated enough not to spoil each other.
    Maybe more true comparison.
    I couldn't tell when both were changed. I here a massive difference on mine.
    Of course when both under load sound different than free revving.
    But still better than nothing.
    Thanks
