Sure! We will get onto this asap just as a general though, ping pong balls and containers anywhere from 14 months + the rest are all 18 months + except the fabrics can be as young as 7 months.

New mom here, some of the small items seem to me like they could be choking hazards? After what age to toddlers stop putting things in their mouth?

It's important to only allow your child to play or engage with items that you feel comfortable introducing them too and giving them. Follow the guidelines of your country on size of items and age recommendations. Some of these activities are suited for 3+

Do you have any suggestions on how to model an activity, specifically when a child does not want to watch a demonstration and they just want to be hands on before they can be guided on how to use the item?

Hi Tiffany, it really does depend how old the child is however I would acknowledge the child's feelings first so: "You are so excited, you JUST want to have a turn!" then state your expectations: "As soon as I have shown you, you can have a turn" then offer the child a choice so "Would you like to sit on this side of me, or on this side while I show you?". Also sometimes you can just allow the child to explore the activity , if it is an object permanence box for example as it has self-corrective mechanisms in built in it, so sometimes exploration for a while and then you are able to ask the child if you can have a turn. Remember to move very slowly and separate your actions and words to get the best focus during your presentation.

Aren’t the ping pong balls and containers plastic? I thought the recommendation is to not use plastic items?

Hi There! In an ideal world no plastic would be perfect however when doing DIY Montessori in the home it is perfectly acceptable to have activities like these that are Montessori inspired, provide for multiple areas of children's development and things you can setup easily and on a budget at home
