Can you recommend a SmartSwitch alternative/equivalent for a Non-Samsung device? A generic backup program for Android?
Sure, you can try other backup and restore apps such as Wondershare MobileTrans and CLONEit.
Just did this with a Tab A9+
The root fails if you let Magisk do it's last reboot, and you'll have to factory reset again. Skipping that step hasn't caused any problems for me

I have galaxy tab s6 wifi, and there is no cp file, and 2 csc files (one with " Home" at the beginning of the file name). What should I do about it?
You don't need the CP and HOME CSC
Hi, thanks for the video, very thorough. I managed to get as far as flashing the archived file. However, when I attempt to flash - I receive a fail. Error message says boot.img.img Fail! Any advice please?
Try the following solutions:
1. Remove the vbmeta file in the boot.tar file and flash again.
2. instead of patching the boot.img try to patch the whole AP file in the Magisk app, it will be automatically changed to .tar format. flash it as you are flashing the boot.tar file.
Thank you so much. It worked on my galaxy j7 prime succesfully. But after 2 weeks my devices went on FRP lock during a reboot, It will be very helpful to guide me through the recovery of the phone.
Glad I could help. About the FRP lock screen, did you try to flash any module before that could possibly have led to this? If you have used your rooted phone normally in 2 weeks without any issue, something must've happened then.
To go back to original firmware, download your firmware and then flash it with Odin. But you may lose your data.

That could be the reason then. Be careful on modules that you flash. Some of them aren't really safe.

Thanks! That's a whole another tutorial btw. You have to use some modules and configure some settings. I can try to make it but it won't be anytime soon, so feel free to explore other tutorials on RUclips.

it says my tablet is corrupt after doing the additional setup (@16:18), what could be the cause of this?
Is the tablet going to homescreen? If it is then it's fine just check root access. If not then I don't know what might have caused that, flash the original firmware files to go back to original system.
I thought I did everything as shown in the video, but my tablet(Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 fe+) got stuck in the infinite loading screen when trying to flash the boot.tar file (basically the last step). What can it be connected to?
It is connected to the file that is being flashed aka (boot.tar)
Try to archive it with just the patched boot.img and not the vbmeta.img

And im not sure what that is, should i wait for it or do something else?

@@Lol82416 because the stock (original) firmware is corrupted. That's why you have to flash the whole firmware, unpatched with magisk.

Hello, sorry to hear that. have you installed samsung usb drivers ? and have you confirmed the bootloader unlock status.

Motorola phones can have their Bootloader unlocked through the Motorola website. So should we skip to the next step in this video when it comes to that?
Yeah. Follow the next steps after unlocking bootloader.

since you already have the original firmware that you downloaded, you can put them in Odin app again after putting the phone in download mode. And then flash it, it will return to stock firmware and from there, you can lock the bootloader if you wish.
If you don't want to lock the bootloader and wish to root your device, you can try the patching AP file method. Where you patch the whole AP file that we used to take out the boot.img in our video, and then flash that one to see if it works on your device.

After flashing make sure you go in recovery mode and factory reset the device

Have you confirmed whether you have unlocked the bootloader? And check the firmware that you are flashing whether it is the one for your device

It put mine into an endless boot loop. Sits on the loading page with the warning "This is not running software installed by Samsung..." and never boots to One UI... then repeats. Can't switch off either. Is it possible to get past this?
Pray that you soft bricked it, then search on google
You can try to unroot it and then try to root again. If it still gives you bootloop then this method might not work for your device.

yeah, load the backup (restore) only after rooting is done if you want to keep root and restore previous files.

Try to follow the same steps for your device. But take backup in case it goes wrong.

Is there any place I can get written, detailed instructions on how to root Android device (specifically Samsung). This is very interesting but it is going to take me a few "watches" of this video to accomplish this, and I am afraid I might skip a step
I don't think you can find a dedicated written format of the steps like the one in the video. It's even simpler in the video as I have divided the steps into chapters. Goodluck, if you have any issues let me know!

@@Tech_Happens no idea it just was in the savescreen , and it had stopped , is started thw process at 8 pm and by 11 pm it was frozen , i tried to do anything but was completely unresponsive, i forze reboot it , now i guess my tab is incomplete cause it tells me ''this phone isnt running samsung official software' and satys on logo screen
It's not incomplete permanently.
I assume you still have the original firmware files.
Just flash them to go back to original firmware and lock the bootloader
Hello! I tried this method but I got a security Error which says that i flashed unauthorized software and I got locked out of it, luckily I managed to unlock it however can you explain why it happened and what I did wrong?
For some devices have extra layer of protection that's why it happens. There are flashable files that are specifically used to bypass that in order to proceed rooting.

You have to decompress the boot.img.lz4 to get the boot.img first.
You can't use .lz4 file without converting it to .img file.
Try again maybe this time put the lz4 file in another location.
