The Batman is the latest movie staring the Dark Knight. Directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffry Wright and Paul Dano, it is a fantastic addition to the Batman cinematic history. But what about the comics which inspired the film? In this video, we look at action figures based on the comics which were instrumental to the story of The Batman. Saw the movie with friends last night, the movie was great! Although our experience was slightly ruined by an obnoxious group behind us who laughed at anything the riddler did🙄
That stinks. Sorry about that - sometimes people laugh when they are uncomfortable, and sometimes people are just a-holes.
Every time I saw Paul dano I can’t stop thinking about Brian Wilson
Yeah I had my entire theater experience ruined by a family of four next to me. The mother kept repeating everything and making stupid voices. Very inconsiderate to the rest of the audience who all paid $20 a pop for the XD Extreme experience. I've got my own theater set up at home. Don't know why I even bother anymore. I'll probably just wait and spend my $20 on the blu ray from now on.
I did giggle at riddler a bit. Not as much as I'm sure your guy did. But something about his demeanor is sort of humorous
Sounds like a nightmare
Even if he's been portrayed as silly in the comics and (some) TV shows, Riddler is one of the few enemies who can challenge Batman on an intellectual level, so you have to respect him in that fashion.
Plus as a BTAS fan, I'll always appreciate the suit-and-tie-with-bowler-hat look for Riddler. Excited to see this new interpretation of the character though.
I don't think a new version takes anything away from a previous version - it simply adds to it. And, you are going to love this addition...
10/10 movie i loved every performance and that nirvana song is stuck in my head all day 😭

13:33, that Penguin figure is from Mattel, it's the one from the 4th season of Batman: The Animated Series, when it got moved to the WB Network and had those redesigns to most of the characters, a little fun fact, that was the design of the penguin Bruce Timm and Paul Dini wanted to use for the first three seasons of Batman: TAS, but Warner Brothers wanted them to make the Penguin resembled the Danny DeVito version, but when the show got moved to the WB Network, they got to use the design of Penguin they wanted to use

The movie was everything I'd hoped it would be after being excited for it for 3 years it definitely is the Batman movie I'd been waiting for it's still unbelievable to me that my favorite actor of all time is now my favorite Batman, I'm glad you mentioned the new frontier it's my absolute favorite story, I also loved cookes work on Batman Ego
Pattinson was a revelation- so much better than I even hoped to dream! Maybe I’ll do a video dedicated to New Frontier in the future!!!

That black and white Batman is actually from Justice League Darwin Cooke. Just a Minor difference from his year one which has longer ears and pouches

Where do you recommend someone buy there action figures when they are trying to start a collection?
With the demise of Toys R Us and the difficulty in finding figures consistently at Target and Wal Mart, I now pre-order all my figures. I use BBTS, Hasbro Pulse and occasionally Amazon or GameStop. If you are looking for loose figures for cheap, consider eBay
I loved the film! My favourite Batman figure is the Arkham Asylum/City suit! Great video also!

I saw the movie on Friday with my friend. It was fantastic! Honestly I think it was better than the Dark Knight (which I think is a bit overrated to begin with)
Heath Ledger’s Joker is not overrated - the rest of the movie does not meet that standard, however. Super glad you enjoyed the movie a d thanks for watching the video!

I feel like Batman: White Knight's Batman suit had a bit of an influence on the Battinson suit as well.
I can totally see that - but I would argue it was also influenced by Gotham by Gaslight...

This is the great Riddler which is without th hat
In the film,they turned riddler into a murderous psychopath,which is not how the character was originally envisioned .
Saw the movie today, best batman in my opinion. I like that there’s more batman than bruce wayne
Alright, can't wait to check out the movie next week. I mean I read spoiler free reviews, they say it is the most comic accurate, darker, and grittier story line. Having Andy serkis play Alfred was perfect that is why they have a great chemistry together. Not rasicist but sometimes having black actoers play white chracters works and sometimes it doesn't. Like Michael B. Jordan as Johny Storm didn't work. Jamie Foxx as Electro worked from The Amazing Spider Man 2. His performance was good, he was a great villain that is why they brought him back for Spider Man No Way Home. Especially if his back story was different from the comics. That still worked. I think Jeffrey Wright was perfect as Jim Gordon. I still love Gary Oldman iteration though.

Haven’t seen this movie yet but I saw the trailer. In my opinion nothing can beat Christian Bale portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman.

I think the other Long Halloween figure looks miles better that's out there, it was in a 2pack with the joker . The face is much better and still faithful to the source material in my opinion . Like Miller, his art wasn't always 100% consistent

Your remarks on Riddler's suit in the comics are a bit misinformed.
From his inception in 1949, Riddler wore a green leotard covered in question marks.
It wasn't until the 1966 Adam West Batman TV show when he got the 2nd version of his look, the suit & bowler (not boiler) hat.
That look was actually invented by Frank Gorshin. He didn't like the leotard look, so he designed a much more dignified, sophisticated, & quite frankly, flattering & better look for Riddler.
He did still wear the leotard for the majority of his appearances as Riddler, but he invented & originated the suit & hat look for Riddler, & it wasn't until around the mid to late 1980's that that look & style for Riddler was adopted into the comics.
If you think his nice green suit & hat look "goofy", look at his original costume.

I’ve watched all Batman movies from 60s, 80s, and dark knight with friends. To my conclusion he nailed the Batman feel that others were close too, but not like him. Just like Heath ledger’s joker
Edit: after watching the film I downloaded the Arkham knight game that extends the feeling of the movie so much

I’m reading the comments and I’m a bit jealous i was severely disappointed with the movie i won’t go into a whole lot of detail to avoid spoilers but i will say that i disagree with why carbon scoring said about Batman’s voice in the movie i felt he was hard to hear and kinda mumbled throughout the film. Fortunately my dad mumbles a lot so i could understand him but still felt underwhelming since i grew up with and love the Bale batvoice
Huh. I’m trying to remember if I thought he was mumbling. Certainly not during his narration segments. I did not have any trouble understanding him. Each of us coke at the movies from different perspectives and if your first real experience with Batman was Bale, then that is going to be your baseline - your “normal”. For me, with a longer history of actors playing Batman, I felt Bale’s bat-voice was forced. Thankfully, we can both be right!
I hated on his ass the entire time cause of twilight, not even that though he genuinely was garbage aswell as Michael reeves , the stunt dude was better and that's who we see 90% of the time 😂
