Clean comedy though.... I'm pleasantly surprised with this one.
I reluctantly watched bc I thought it was going to be bad or realllly bad.
However. I thought it was funny apart from the part where he said "the Lord wants you to." And the pastors cursing at the end.
I was reminded that Christian's are in different places in their personal walks with Christ. The lady cursing at her children was real thing, and could serve as an example of a new believer in Christ(I hope NEW🙏🏽😊) that's genuinely rough around the edges at this point... but in a heart process of her language being cleaned up as she purposefully grows in Christ.
A lot of comedy and media is "not christian". My experience, however is that many Christians in America recognize and appreciate good art, good science and especially good humor.
We're all human, and I might just be rationalizing my long time love affair with comedy in general and SNL in particular, but if I hope that non-religious folks can set aside discomforts to consider God and spiritual matters (a considerably more personal matter than comedy) I can pardon use of the a-s-s word, etc.
If I can't enjoy SNL, how can I possibly love my fellow man? 😆

SNL has always been like this. A lot of mediocre sketches, some good ones. And a few great ones. Nothing has changed on SNL. Even in the 70s, 80s, and 90s

The African-American Evangelicals whom I am privileged to know have this tendency to read their Bibles from Genesis to Revelations, something that is not universal within the preaching in mostly-white Evangelical churches. Thus there has been some white migration to these churches.

@@dark3rthanshadows Yeah, this. A host with an upgraded account can just do a blanket mute over the crowd, and this doesn't happen. I probably went 3-4 meetings as a host before I realized I had that capability, though.

This is new to a lot of folks (which is one of the points). People who have never been in a web-based meeting don't know to expect...oh yeah. I can mute people. In fact, I have seen "pros" make the same error in big national teleconferences.

I had run six meetings the first week of quarantine. It took me #7 to figure this out.

thank you so much for doing this skit. I didn't realize how much stress it is with having to keep up with all of the meetings and making sure that we are productive. Constantly proving that we are in tune with what's going on and this skit just made a very real and stressful situation feel so funny. I don't think I have ever laughed that hard in my life. It almost scared me how hard I laughed but I so needed that relief. it just made me feel like I'm not alone. We are all going through the stresses of trying to do our jobs. And not just do our jobs but do it exceptionally well to make sure that we keep them. Thank you so much. You made my work experience at home feel so much better. I can laugh at it and think about this skit every time I want to feel stressed or overwhelmed and just have a good laugh. Keep doing what you doing because we all need you especially now. This is hilarious. Every Zoom meeting the speaker has to mute the entire group because someone has their mic on, and it has been weeks now. 😂
The host can see whose mic is picking up audio by looking for the yellow outline on the video. That's the person to mute.
I have really enjoyed the 3 "SNL at home" shows and think all involved have done a great job. Thanks for continuing comedy programming during this trying time.
