  • Kamishibai Stories - an excellent method for crafting your own tales. Whether following the script of the "Hero Story" :
    1) Choose a Hero
    2) What is his mission?
    3) What challenges does he have to overcome?
    4) Who helps?
    5) How does the story end?
or exploring your own ideas, you will create memorable stories.
When designing the picture pages, keep in mind: maintain a focused composition, avoid excessive details that distract the eye and mind.
It is the powerful images that make Kamishibai stories captivating.
Furthermore, you can narrate the story to as many listeners as you wish at your own pace.
Ready-made Kamishibai stories are available online, for example, on platforms like Amazon, or you can explore your local bookstores. Additionally, you can enhance the experience with special Kamishibai Theatre props, which can be purchased online or created by yourself.
Regarding materials, you can start immediately with whatever you have available: cutouts from magazines or brochures, old (birthday) cards, personal snapshots (children will be thrilled to find themselves in a story), or your own sketches.
Kamishibai Stories appeal to viewers of all ages, and you can adjust the content and representation of the story accordingly.
The text on the back of the cards requires some rearranging:
the text for the current card is located at the back of the previously shown card, so stay focused while handling this task.
During the Kamishibai Story, you can either strictly adhere to the text or tell the story in your own words, as you are familiar with the narrative.
After telling the story once you can let the audience tell the story, which is an excellent method for language learning and developtment.
Personally, I adore creating Kamishibai stories! Ideas flow effortlessly when I sit down with the intention of crafting one.
Embrace the creative process, and your story will be unique-no one else can tell it quite like you.
Give it a try, and once you finish one, don't hesitate to share it.
    Everyone loves a good story!
    Enjoy!

      Hi!
Amazon has a collection available. Have a look at, i.e., 'The Moon Princess' - an English/Japanese edition. 'Mantra Lingua' also offers a choice of stories: usa.mantralingua.com.
If you want to address a specific audience have a go at creating your own story using snapshots that include the viewers - always very welcome.
      Both ways work; enjoy👋
      Warm regards
      Gudrun
