Wow! What amazing shells. I like that you used the pen shell to hold such beautiful shells. I also liked seeing dig for some shells. I can only imagine how deep some of the shells go in some spots. The cones, worm shells, the horse conks, and all the rest of the shells. The water is beautiful, relaxing, and makes me feel so much better. I really wish I lived near the ocean so I could see the sunrise, sunsets, hear the water, and sit and dig for shell. Thank you for sharing another great shelling video. Have a great day.
I haven't watched this video yet, but I wanted to take a minute to thank you for your tips and insight. I was at FMB yesterday and came along a short strip of beach that had the "coffee grinds" look and I remembered the connection you made between these and mini shells. Sure enough, when I got down low and checked the wrack line, I was rewarded with handfuls of minis - whelks, bubbles, fighting conchs, drills, augers, shark eyes, murex and my first gaudy nautica. Thank you and happy shelling!
Hi Laura!!! Oh how fun this was. I'm hoping to do a shelling tour to Keewaydin while I am down there. Just 14 days till we leave. This makes me so excited. Can't wait to be there!!! Have a great Labor Day weekend! Hugs 💞
Oh my, I love the beach, I would be in total heaven to be there. If you ever need to get rid of some shells I would love to have some. No matter what condition, I love doing crafts with them.
OMG, yes Laura, shell for an hour, please? 😂 Your videos always go by too fast! My mom & I plopped down in the water just north of where you shelled and we dug! We dug with our scoopers and we found buried treasures. She found a beautiful true Tulip too! I can't wait to share this video with her! Thanks for sharing such a gorgeous sunset and successful shelling evening with us!❤
Just found you and love your videos! We live in Naples and I have been shelling for years and love it. I learned several new things from you and Morgan Beach was my FAV! Hoping to rent a boat and get there soon!!!!!
When you are shelling right in the same little area, stab a stick into the sand vertically well above the water and put your pen shell basket next to the stick, pile larger shells like the fighting chonch next to it, grab another pen shell and collect more. But seriously, how can you not bring a shell bag?!? 😂 You know you’re going to shell! A beach towel makes a great shell landing spot, too, and carrying bag if you gather all the edges up. Nice fish, too!!!
I do not know how you held those shells (without spilling them I might add) and filmed and picked up more! Thank you for taking us along, Laura! It is always a joy!
Great episode. I was there last week and the tide was pretty high. Lots of stuff in the water but it was too deep for me to reach without a mask. So I shelled in the wrack line which wasn’t too good but I found a lot of “micro minis” including several rice olives which I had never found before so that made it fun. Love to watch your videos.
Oh my gosh, coming from Wisconsin in November to celebrate my birthday. After seeing your fun and fabulous time I’m thinking maybe two days at Keewaydin vs one day in Sanibel. I love how you share with us, thank you! Does the ferry drop off on the shelling side? Thank you Laura, so glad you are happy!
The ferry drops you off very close to where the boys were fishing and other boats were parked. It only takes a few minutes to walk across, or just walk around where Laura is now. Shells are everywhere! Have fun! And yes, plan for 2 days! We did, and one day ended up being canceled due to Thunderstorms. So, we only got 1 day. You can always cancel if you chose not to go.
Oh, I completely understand. My knees are toast and hips are bad too. So we didn't walk the beach. We found a shallow place to sit down in the water, and we dug with our scoopers. It worked!! Found some fantastic Tulips, Alphies, etc..
Lovely video thank you for sharing. The beautiful Egret was saying "Move around me, get your own fishing spot, lady" haha 🌊🐚🦩(couldn't find a white bird that seemed a better pick than a pink flamingo) Stunning sunset.

@@smilineyes815 thank you! I’m older and my knees need help, but shelling sure takes a persons mind off pain!
@@smilineyes815 What time of day did you go?

@@smilineyes815 Thank you for being so encouraging!!!!
So fun!!!
What kind of water shoes do you recommend? Yours look comfy☺
Could you tell us what kind of water shoes you are wearing?
Is there a hotel you’d recommend? Probably having to take the Hemingway ferry.
You sell seashells!?
Hm, the last 2 episodes you didn't bring a shell bag.
