The origins of the English monarchy began with the Anglo-Saxon settlement of Britain by Germanic settlers from mainland Europe in the 5th and 6th centuries. The settlers were not ethnically related to the original indigenous people of the British Islands, i.e. the Celtic. Cornish and Welsh tribes. The so-called current English royals are descendants of European royalty, most notably the German Hanoverians, who were also related to the Russian Romanovs, the last royals in pre-revolutionary Russia. In 1917, George V changed their surname from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor to make it sound English. Britons regard this so Britishness is about as bizarre as one could possibly imagine. It is also bizarre that some British people continue to OBSESSIVELY FAWN over the current representatives of this old institution which has an EVIL HISTORY and a PRISON - LIKE LIFESTYLE.
A Cult of Personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda, or other methods to create an idealized, and at times, a ' god-like or a goddess-like ' public image, through Unquestioning Flattery and Praise. (Charles, his deceased mother Elizabeth, deceased Philip, William, Anne, Kate, Camilla including the other representatives) What is a CULT-? The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader, ( Charles ) Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged. The leadership dictates, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act and feel. The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader and members, ( Charles and the other representatives ) The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society. The leader is extremely protected and does not give interviews. ( Charles ) The leader is not held accountable to any authority. ( Charles ) Unquestioning adulation is expected from the followers. It is obvious as to why Harry preferred to have his FREEDOM from such an ABNORMAL and a PRISON - LIKE lifestyle. Kate may have decided to do likewise. Over one thousand people followed the Peoples Temple CULT led by Jim Jones and ended up DEAD. DO NOT FOLLOW THIS CULT OR ANY DANGEROUS CULT. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The so-called English royals represent an old cult-like institution with a very bad history and the following words would apply to it. Racist, Incest, Adultery, Immorality, Tyranny, Brutality, Genocide, Slavery, Theft, Dysfunctional, Aloof, Extremely Secretive, Irrelevant, Suffocating Formality, Abnormal and a Prison - Like Lifestyle. Edward's and Simpson's allegiance to Hitler. Andrew / Epstein and Charles / Jimmy Savile. Diana's arranged / forced marriage to Charles and his horrible treatment of her. Philip and his affairs, Anne divorced. Andrew Divorced, Charles divorced. Andrews association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He visited Epstiens island 26 times so it is said while investigating Epstiens. Henry VIII divorced two of his wives and the other two were BEHEADED-! Henry VIII was responsible for thousands of deaths. Hanged, Drawn and Quartered as well as Burning at the Stake were very evil ways to be killed. Charles was tried and executed for treason. William who carried out genocide in the north of England. American President Jefferson branded George a plundering tyrant.
If the royal family is not British due to the fact that they are descended from the foreign Anglo-Saxon settlers… well then millions of British citizens today are not British either, because millions of them are Anglo Saxon… You accuse the monarchy of being old and out of date, yet you argue that a person cannot be British if they are anglo Saxon… now THAT is definitely out of date. Hypocrisy to its greatest extent.
It would be great to get into the details of how getting rid of the monarchy in the UK would effect Canada, Australia and all the other common wealth countries/colonies.
i think you will find that a great many of the commonwealth countries have already made up their minds to ditch the monarchy, its only the UK who are to be refused a vote on whether to keep them but then we are there cash cow.
Spain has a Constitutional Monarchy that was overthrown and brought back. However, Spain does not pay their Royals very much. It is not unusual to see the Spanish Royal Family walking around a outdoor market with their two (Princesses) teenage girls walking casually behind them.
It was brought back by a fascist dictator called Franco as the last thing that was "sort of" (you'd have to delve deeper into the subject to understand why it's sort of ) democratically chosen in Spain. And no, it is very unusual to bump into the royal family walking around an outdoor market. They're just as protected and isolated as the British royal family.
Well you keep them thick American fantasists have them over there be a Boeing scraping serf again and keep them in luxury americans are do uneducated and thick in general LOL
I'd prefer a rich institution who would look after the country & people more in order to keep their heads, than a politician who fights for nothing than re-election and gain money they didn't have.
Monarchy is popular because family is the common thread that ties us all together. And because its apolitical and we don't have to vote for them. Australia's King is Charles III. If the UK abolishes the monarchy, he and his family would be very welcome to move here and continue as our Monarch.
@thalmoragent9344 republics and democracies are no better than monarchies, as we have seen they have just as many negatives, and in some cases are worse, like the 1st French Republic which killed more people than their monarchy ever did, or like the Soviet Union when the communists abolished their monarchy it ended up with even more death, the Romanov's were saints compared to Lenin and Stalin, not to mention in the last referendum in 2020, the majority of Brits said they supported the monarchy, they look at their monarchy as an integral part of their culture, that would be like the US abolishing their constitution, which has inspired every other constitutional Republic that has been formed since, but the French took the wrong lesson from the American Revolution, we fought an outside monarchy for independence, where the French lost their way when they lost their morality and fought to murder their own monarchs in cold blood, not out of a need for liberty, but in a want for blood thirsty revenge and ended up becoming worse than the monarchs, corruption should be punished but not at the sake of morality and doing what's right
Republics have their own problems and costs. They have some checks and balances to limit power but given the populace electing a head of state does not guarantee a better navigation of statecraft . Perhaps more so because it turns it into another political system. Democracy is always in danger of descending into tyranny as Plato said. We have only to see how dictatorships can destroy another democracy with current events. A constitutional monarchy is one way to challenge alternative systems that concentrate power and personal gain for a few. Perhaps some objective analysis and comparison of different systems than trashing one form without such a comparison, would yield a better understanding of the inner workings of what is being trashed!
My thoughts exactly. I never liked democracy- when everyone thinks they are entitled to power. Everything has “owners”. Power is no different. The UK will remember when they had a royal family to represent them. And they will regret for abolishing them if that ever happens.
You make some good points. I agree that it's overoptimistic to assume that switching to a republic would automatically make everything fairer and more democratic. The US is a Republic and ranks lower in democracy rankings than the UK. That said, it's hard to deny that there are a lot of troubling issues surrounding the monarchy, and the more I learn about it the more problems there seems to be. While you say that a constitutional monarchy challenges systems that concentrate power, ours also centralises power in the Prime Minister, making our PM more domestically powerful than most others in Europe. And some of the royals are able to effectively veto laws that negatively impact their financial interests. At least an elected head of state could be more accountable, and couldn't dodge things like the Freedom of Information act so easily. In response to your final point, since the interview was with the CEO of republic, the story was why he thinks we should abolish the monarchy. I am, however, producing a video featuring an interview with a monarchist. It was supposed to be done immediately after this one, but it was very delayed because of Covid, so will be out early next year. It doesn't go too much into the inner workings of different types of systems, but does explore the reasons a monarchist has for being a monarchist. So I hope you enjoy it when it comes out 🙂
@@TieranFreedman the UK has a collective government system not a presidential one so even though the PM is very powerful they can't exercise that power without significant support from the cabinet and parliament and if they do they're quickly booted out of office even just after a month as what happened to Lizz Truss.
but the UK already is a republic... well, almost. Oh, and what is the royal family going to do when someone like Hitler rises to power with the majority of the people on their side? In case someone wanted to take over the country, they'd get kicked out Buckingham Palace or ally with the dictator. A King doesn't prevent dictatorships. Sorry, but there are no good arguments for a royalty
@@simba6698 That is just not true. There is little or no parliamentary scrutiny into our military adventures, e.g. Israel, Ukraine, Yemen and who knows where else. Republic are proposing an elected head of state like Ireland and Iceland, not like the USA or France.

As for other countries, well, examples of good governance are everywhere but so are examples of chaos. That is always up to the people. At least in a republic you get to choose who profits from the system, in a monarchy you have no choice. Besides, no western monarchy has enough political power to remain as some sort of keeper of order. They're a useless institution backed only by tradition and made up divine legitimacy.
Removing the cultural icons from a nation can have very, very dire consequences, for the French it was Napoleon Bonaparte, for the Germans it was Adolf Hitler, for the Russians it was Joseph Stalin,
Who has the authority to abolish the sovereign? I suspect it would be illegal to abolish the monarchy, just like the law didn't allow Charles I to be tried, so they resorted to a mock-trial and murdered him. This video seems to demonstrate a pop-culture misperception of reality, which has been propagated by that which spewed forth from the French Revolt. I suggest having a clear understanding of the merits of monarchy (they exist) before choosing to throw the monarchy away like so much trash. To let the legacy of French Revolters do your thinking for you, is not wise. It's extremely ironic to follow after radicalism, and then to say it's not a radical position because Europe has already submitted itself to radicalism. The world is falling apart, due to the nature of democratic forces. What yall should desire, is a male sovereign who does his job rather than just being a mascot. What yall should not desire, is to plunge into the Globalist Conspiracy Against Humanity. A good king will prevent Britain from being the dystopia that the Globalist Order is certainly going to be. Based on his parrot-like rhetoric, the anti-royal guy sounds very naive, and like he worships some ideal as if it is God. That false god is going to destroy England, if yall let it. The day may come when the British Monarchy is the only thing that can strive back against the Globalist Tyranny which is to come and is already desperately striving to assert itself against Humanity. I sure hope yall don't take the monarchy for granted; that could have devastating consequences for the whole world (maybe, maybe not; alot of things can happen)... of course, that thing where yall are now leaving the throne open to Romanist (Papist) infiltration, needs to be fixed.

As an Aussie who supports an Australian Republic I can only say good luck! We are having a big enough struggle to persuade Australians that we don't need the monarchy! I recall a UK TV program (if anyone knows it's title please let me know as I'd love to find a copy) some years ago that started with the (fictional) announcement that "The House of Lords has voted, by a narrow margin, to abolish the monarchy". It then went through the various steps that would be needed to accomplish this. Near the end was an announcement that the Commissioners who were charged with overseeing the process had announced that "there is nothing to stop Anne Windsor, the former Princess Royal, from standing for President. Ladbrokes immediately had her at 10 to 1 on."
The Monarchy symbolises what Britain actually is. It is the living history of our great nation, by removing the monarchy, we cause more problems than good. The monarchy provides stability and removing it would remove that stability. Yes, the Royal family do not have to pay taxes but that didn't stop Queen Elizabeth II paying them from 1992 and onwards. Yes, the Queen did pay taxes as she offered to do so and continued doing so just like any other tax payer. The counterarguments to some of these republican views are on the royal family website itself. Queen Elizabeth, actually did a lot for this country and the world and i would hope that King Charles carries this on. Rest in peace, Queen Elizabeth II, loved by many.
My country has been a republic since 29 November 1945. Initially, many people got angry but it is now a distant memory. I am sure there are better things to symbolise Britain than a family.

your understanding of feudalism is incorrect, today is not the same, feudalism was based on military serve, and god; not what they have now. All you have is a royal family form of monarchy.

"No monarchy has ever been brought back, democratically." 1905 Norwegian Monarchy referendum (From Wikipedia): "A referendum on retaining the monarchy or becoming a republic was held in Norway on 12 and 13 November 1905. Voters were asked whether they approved of the Storting's decision to authorise the government to make the offer of the throne of the newly self-ruling country. The Storting had wanted to offer the throne to Prince Carl of Denmark, but the prince insisted that the Norwegian people have a chance to decide whether they wanted to retain a monarchy. The proposal was approved by 79% of voters. Following the referendum, the Storting formally offered the throne to Carl on 18 November; Carl accepted, assuming the throne as King Haakon VII. The new royal family arrived in Norway on 25 November."
A big thank you to Graham Smith at www.republic.org.uk for taking the time to speak with me! A brief sidenote: This is the republican perspective on the monarchy. I have since interviewed a monarchist to explore the other side of the argument and will be publishing that in a future video. Until then, enjoy!
Graham Smith is a liar, he says he has supporters across the political spectrum, but he has no proof, republicans are a bunch of sadistic satanic cult members who will end up ruining this country, I am disgusted that they are in existence, but I guess if Islamic state are a thing then I’m not surprised republicans exist. I don’t associate with republicans as they are devils walking the earth. That's really a pretty poor and illogical argument! You clearly didn't learn any principles of logic in your education. And for the record - the royal children are brought up, coached and taught to understand and how to perform their duties over many years. This is not a reason why monarchy is necessary but yours is one of quite a few stupid and poorly-presented arguments on this page.
William will be the last king after that a generation will move forward to a new opportunity to once again make our world realise just how unique and remarkable Britain is forever transforming and leading others with its innovation and compassion no other country does it like Britain none ever will
I won't be around to see the end of William's reign, but if i were, I'd wager that the British monarchy will march on onto the future. "A small but growing group"-the membership of his group would easily fit into a small football stadium. Don't overestimate this group-they have virtually nil support.
I wonder what would happen with events such as the Trooping of the Colours? Would it still happen, with the President taking over the role of the King or Quenn? Or would that be one of a handful of times each year the royal family is rolled out of hiding? Would the Changing of the Guard continue in it's present form, with the exception that it's much more ceremonial than it currently is? Does the royal family's possessions simplay all get handed back, or do they get to retain one homestead for that immediate family? Reducing the households would greatly impact the costs of retaining some of the sites as tehy would need to be renovated more completely than they are currently. I also think that the tourism dollars might actually increase if visitors have more access to Buckingham Palace, Kensignton, and Windsor if the royal family is no longer in residence there.
Mate if their going to get rid of the monarchy (which I hope they won’t) they should get rid of all the tradition that goes with it... the problem is people hate tradition and want to destroy this country. And trooping the colour to a president just doesn’t sit right with me
I love democracy, and I love the Republic. I have no issues with Monarchy if that's what the people what over there then fine. Just didn't try to bring that over here.
I'm all for royal families. Royal families keep a chronological history of events thru their lineage which the people have access to in their memories of events they've experienced personally , as they grow up with each member of the monarchy. They also serve as a "standard" of behavior. Which is quite difficult to maintain, but supports an attitude of order that promotes peace. It's not an easy role, and certainly not the kind of life I would want. But I believe that royal families should be kept in high regard as they play an important part in society. God save the King and his family.❤
The United States of Britain. Has a ring to it. The former royal family would be able live out their lives as trust fund babies, since they have not been trained in actual careers. Besides, they still own a pretty big chunk of the real estate in Britain. So you will be unlikely to see any of them in vocatioal school any time soon. But somewhere down the line in 20 or 30 years, it should be time for the taxpayers to stop supporting this family. You know, the French have a former "royal family." (They weren't ALL guillotined) None of them are starving. 😮

All of the properties would still need to hire people to maintain them, the traditions (like the changing of the guard) could still continue, this generation of royals would probably be able to continue surviving on name recognition alone, and royal assets could be transferred to public ownership. So I doubt very many.
I see your point and your probably right, I think though the commonwealth might balk a little at suddenly having to pay the upkeep on all the properties and such. Unless they already do, I'm not sure how things work over there. So, I should sit down and shush until I do a little more research on that question. Thanks for your insights.

The whole system needs changing but until the population wake up, the feudal system will stay. Everyone should be taught politics and what the parties represent or else we will still be working and subsidising the rich and privileged. It is obscene how we pay for them through our taxes while a lot of surfs can't get on the housing ladder or afford a holiday. A lot of good comments are made about the Queen but if she cared the taxes would not be up to an all time high and food and fuel so expensive. They are taking the mickey. Those palaces and houses have been paid for by us and taxing the rich especially the rich unworking like the royals and fuel company owners paying minimum wage could subsidise good quality food and low cost fuel and insulation. It would pay properly for the NHS. Instead the current deal is work pay taxes fund the nhs but you won't get an ambulance but pay for nursing care with all the money you've earned. Wake up but rather these parasites than Putin.
As an American, of both English and Irish heritage, time to end the monarchy thing. Turn it into a Disney display but bowing to a family built on violence, murder and mayhem still using the wealth of slaveowners it's time to say goodbye.
I think there’s a place for royalty but not in the constitution and not publicly funded. For example in Greece, Austria and Italy some people still follow their royal families and of course the UK royals should keep their family properties and traditions but they shouldn’t be able to amend any laws or have any authority or meet regularly with the head of state or be funded by the British people. We should have a president as our head of state and the Windsor-Mountbattens can be a historical and mystical noble family like they are now. I say this because I see lots of people resent them etc… which is unfair, they were born into money but so what? As long as they don’t need to be sustained by the rest of the country I don’t see a problem, but I do see a problem with tax going to people holding their office because their mother/father held it. It’s our national tradition, and we should cherish that, but it shouldn’t be our future or the basis of our constitution.

At about 5 min in and the argument already undermines itself. He says the prime minister shouldn't have so much power, but in what way would having a president make that any different? Just look at South America and there has been a long history of presidents seizing too much power. If anything the argument should be that the monarchy needs to step in as a force for democratic principles like freedom of speech and fair elections. Yes a more defined constitution would be good, but as with all countries a constitution means nothing if it isn't even followed.

As an American living in the UK, I can definitely appreciate the urge to a republic. And just for fun I've contemplated what form a British republican government might take. What would it be called? One would have to call it the Republic of the British Isles or something like that. It would hardly do to have a Republic of the United Kingdom, without a king/queen to go with it. Or let Northern Ireland go its own way and call it the Republic of Great Britain. Or let Scotland go its own way and then you'd have the Republic of England and Wales. Imagine the flag! On the other hand, no, no, let's not. The government could take a more rational form (the current Westminster system sucks big time), but the monarchy is the country's saving grace. And what's wrong with a nobility? The Duke of Norfolk in his magnificent castle in Arundel can't go around beating people over the head any longer, like the nobles of long time ago. And what do you call it if you take away the property of all these nobles and royals? It's called "theft" never mind how they got in the first place (happened back in 1066, in case you were wondering). Take it away and you're just as bad as the Spaniards who conquered Latin America and stole all the land that belonged to the Incan and Mayan empires. And if the government can do that to the royals and nobles, then they can do it to you just as easily. There's a reason why there is a _right_ to property. Rule of law applies to everyone. Or should. And does maintaining the royals cost too much? Check out CGP Grey's interesting video on the subject: ruclips.net/video/bhyYgnhhKFw/видео.html
this is one of the most american things ive heard. I really hope its satire. the name is easy if you want to keep the same name, the republic or great britain and northern ireland just replace united kingdom with republic.... also its not theft at all, its our land, they stole it (also was not really 1066). if the british people were to retake our land into the hands of the people we would not "be as bad as the spaniards" but we would be more like if the native americans fought and took back their own land.
It won't be called the republic of the british isles anyway thats for certain for a very obvious reason because will be basically one island with a small bit of ireland which could join the republic of ireland anyway.
the uk is much more modern with a monarchy than america. the weather might suck but atleast you dont go into debt just to get an education or healthcare.
Yeah fair point. I'm definitely grateful for our National Health Service. It has flaws, but it's one of the best things about Britain in my opinion. The education thing used to be true, but the government increased tuition fees in to £9,000 per year a while back so it isn't anymore. The way the debt is repaid is less brutal than in the USA, though. But still, the monarchy is pretty archaic. An elected head of state would definitely be more accountable and a more democratic way to go about things. And while Europe does have its fair share of monarchies, most European countries are republics.
@@TieranFreedman An elected head of state wouldn’t be any more accountable. Britain would, almost certainly, be elected by parliament. In other words, it would simply be the politicians deciding which of themselves to elevate to the top spot. It would be a circus, a long line of despised politician presidents who inspire no loyalty or unity within the people
There is lots of debt in England from healthcare and education. The difference is that in the UK, the government is stiffed with the debt and brits have to pay for it anyway.
I disagree. As good as a codified constitution aesthetically sounds, you have to consider the fact when a legal constitution is signed into law at a particular point in time then every subsequent generation who come after that constitution are essentially shackled to a constitution/system of government. So if future generations want to adjust the system of governance to be able to effectively solve the issues of their day then they can't do that if their chained to a constitution that they have no say over that is written by people who are long gone. Codified constitutions sound good but ultimately such legal documents always cause more problems than they solve. A possible compromise is to perhaps have a list of bill of rights which sets a moral legal standard for that country to uphold. Technically speaking, we do kind of have that we the English bill of rights however I do agree that we do need a second bill of rights to remind the people and ruling classes/institutions alike where the moral legal line stands. Therefore what the UK has at present is actually waay better than what most other countries like the US have as we have a uncodified constitution which allows for people within their respective eras of time to change without chaining people to outdated systems of governance.
Will you research, please, how much taxpayers burden be reduced, if the monarchy is abolished? They should all follow Harry's example and step down. Yet, every country and society will have social issues. The Commonwralth nations can cancel the membership, too.

I submit that without the live role play of the monarchy and royals, and with a civil government only, England would be as boring as the rest of the countries in the world.
CORRECTION: The law removing heirs who marry catholics from the line of succession, mentioned near the end of the video, was changed in 2013 and no longer applies.

The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society.
The leader is extremely protected and does not give interviews. ( Charles )
The leader is not held accountable to any authority. ( Charles )
Unquestioning adulation is expected from the followers.
It is obvious as to why Harry preferred to have his FREEDOM from such an ABNORMAL and a PRISON - LIKE lifestyle.
Kate may have decided to do likewise.

Monarchy is popular because family is the common thread that ties us all together. And because its apolitical and we don't have to vote for them.
Australia's King is Charles III. If the UK abolishes the monarchy, he and his family would be very welcome to move here and continue as our Monarch.
Since 1970, over a dozen monarchies have been abolished.
That is very interesting.
Yes but now people wants back their kings
Sure... but the UK isn't doing so bad
@thalmoragent9344 republics and democracies are no better than monarchies, as we have seen they have just as many negatives, and in some cases are worse, like the 1st French Republic which killed more people than their monarchy ever did, or like the Soviet Union when the communists abolished their monarchy it ended up with even more death, the Romanov's were saints compared to Lenin and Stalin, not to mention in the last referendum in 2020, the majority of Brits said they supported the monarchy, they look at their monarchy as an integral part of their culture, that would be like the US abolishing their constitution, which has inspired every other constitutional Republic that has been formed since, but the French took the wrong lesson from the American Revolution, we fought an outside monarchy for independence, where the French lost their way when they lost their morality and fought to murder their own monarchs in cold blood, not out of a need for liberty, but in a want for blood thirsty revenge and ended up becoming worse than the monarchs, corruption should be punished but not at the sake of morality and doing what's right
Yes and Spain restored theirs since then. So what your point?!
The French monarchy was brought back (and ultimately extinguished) same for the UK in the late 1600’s as well as Spain.
Yes, but let's not let the truth get in the way of a good story
Norway
Yea, and Napoleon had a stomach ulcer too. Tell me another good one.

I am Filipino, and I prefer the monarchy, rather than the republic that still exists in the Philippines. I am one of those who dream that the Philippines will move to a monarchy, we will have our own king or emperor and queen or empress, and to fix the rotten, dirty and chaotic Philippine politics; and for the Filipinos to unite instead of being divided just because of different political beliefs.
YES TO PHILIPPINE MONARCHY! 🇵🇭👑
Democratic Constitutional Monarchy (Kingdom/Empire of the Philippines)
Head of State: Monarch (King/Emperor or Queen/Empress)
Head of Government: Prime Minister (elected by the people)
Legislative: Senate & Parliament (elective senators & parliament members)
Local Government: Province (headed by the elective governor) & Municipality/City (headed by the elective mayor), with Barangay (headed by the elective captain/chairman)
They vehemently protect their own interests and wil defiantly quell any resistance against them. I have asked elderly people 70-80 year olds why they support the Monarchy, they all say they bring money into the country. How ridiculous! They spend far more than that bring in.

By all means do, but think very careful what you wish and for whom or what you want to replace it with, Sadiq khan perhaps, or how about tony Blair perhaps,
Just wondering, if you abolished the monarchy and got rid of everything, how many Brits would suddenly be jobless? Or homeless, just wondering.

Because the king hands the prime minsiter the powers of a head of state. The argument isn't undermined; you just don't understand it.

Yes!!! Abolish the monarchy!!!!!
As someone who was relatively indifferent to the monarchy, the more I learn about it the more troubled I am by it...
Keep the monarchy
I really hope its satire. the name is easy if you want to keep the same name, the republic or great britain and northern ireland just replace united kingdom with republic.... also its not theft at all, its our land, they stole it (also was not really 1066). if the british people were to retake our land into the hands of the people we would not "be as bad as the spaniards" but we would be more like if the native americans fought and took back their own land.

the uk is much more modern with a monarchy than america. the weather might suck but atleast you dont go into debt just to get an education or healthcare.
most of europe has democratic governments but they also have monarchs
It's time to revolt against this inherited privilege...
A constitution would definitely be a step in the right direction
