This is my entry for Lee Armitage's Lord of the Riffs part 6 mini episode. Lee gave us a really fast metal drum beat. Very old school metal sounds which I used my LTD SC200 modded guitar to record with. It has a Seymour Duncan JB. I used my Kemper and Bogren Digital impulse responses. This to me sounds kkind of like My Dying Bride or something doom metal but someone else said sort of like Lamb of God. I don't know but make sure to watch all the Lord of the riff videos Lee has done. I will do a backing track for a jam here soon.

90's metal band? Was there a such thing? It was the dark ages for metal. Everybody either went quiet or worse, far worse, tried to blend with the times. I won't mention names, but C'mon man, you know what I am talk about.

Thanks! It was fun but the solo drove me nuts and I took too long to put this together. Had to just say let’s finish it. The synth is what I think makes this song if you call it that interesting or at least a memorable bit for your ears.

What are you using for that synth sound? It's freaking beautiful. Do you ever listen to Gary Hoey? Your rig sounds just like his. I listen to his Christmas stuff every year, and your songs always make me think of him. (Too rude?)
RUDEEE I don't know his music. The synth I think is one of the presets from a company named UVI. If not, it is from Arturia which is the company that made my midi controller which I recorded that part with.
@@BrianBower It's super pretty, I have nothing like it. It reminds me of the Talking Heads keyboard in Burning Down the House. Check out Gary Ho Ho Hoey and see if you like it. It's not totally clean and polished, because it's from the analog era, where playing was rarely faking.
This is bad ass riffage for sure, but 2000's era metal counts as "old school" now?
I was anticipating some 70s/80s era Priest/Maiden/Sabbath riffage! THAT'S old school!
