I needed information and sizes! I’m so excited!!! I needed a big mop brush but not too big!! Thank you so much. This is the exact information I needed.
Bought a soft aqua 16 round and I love it but it's much smaller than I expected. Have had my eye on these and I just found a great price on the size 4. Been looking for a good quill and I think I'll finally take the plunge. Thanks for the video!
I use these brushes. They are available in Greece. I'm very satisfied with them! You did very well to make this video because I haven't seen them in RUclips reviews.
Thank you. I made it because I couldn't find much information about them, when I searched on RUclips, and thought others might be looking for the same. Glad you like the brushes. Thank you for your comment. 🙏
Nice review, thanks for sharing. From what I've seen in your videos it seems you mostly do smaller-sized paintings, like A5 to A4 sizes, right? What mop brush size, and only one to start out, do you suggest to be the most versatile for mostly ~A5-sized and occasional ~A4-sized paintings? As I already have a decent #8 round brush I want to pair the mop with that for the majority of the work.
Oh really? It was my favourite wash brush for quite a while until I started using the Escoda Ultimo. I still prefer the soft aqua hair but the Escoda handle is much better for me.
thanks, this helps! i am on a quest to find a synthetic mop brush for watercolor that i don't regard as a downgrade from natural hair. i will give these a try, they sound right
Hi. Thank you for your comment. I'm glad the video was helpful to you. I think any synthetic mop is going to feel like a bit of a downgrade from natural squirrel but I'm my opinion these Raphael are the closest you are going to get. I definitely don't feel I would ever need to by a natural hair brush again.
@@JayNathanWatercolor Line’d them and yeah, out of stock. i wonder why these soft aquas are so hard to find. it’s Raphael! should be more accessible. 🥺
Thanks, I want one. Maybe a #2 to compliment my Princeton AquaElite #6. I'm fairly new to watercolour quills and I must say -- they're a game changer. The synthetic brushes are soooooo much better than they used to be, and I'm happy not to enable some nasty fur farm. DeSerres here in Canada carries Raphaël -- "the oldest fine art brush maker in Europe".
I'm glad you found the video helpful. Yes, synthetic hair is getting very good now and I don't really see the point in getting natural hair brushes anymore. I've never tried the Princeton brushes so I've no idea how the Raphael's compare but I hope you will be happy with the #2.

i keep coming back to this video for the size dimensions :D
That's great! I'm glad it's useful. I'm still going to remake it with a voice over and a bit more information. 🤣

I got the 3/0 and 0. Love them! Now I want larger sizes.
This is my favorite brush what I used to make my swatch card. Nice review !!
Thank you 🙏
Thanks! I was looking for a smaller quill but hard to judge the size on a website. Looks like the smallest is what I need.
You're welcome 🙏 I keep meaning to make an update to this video, with a voiceover and a little more information, but never get around to it 🤣
Thanks for sharing this video..this ll be more understanding If it ll be audible..
Thanks!! Very nice review. Just the info I was looking for. 👍🏻
Great! Thank you. Very happy the info was helpful to you. 🙏

Awesome! I almost bought an Escoda Ultimo 10 but already have this Raphael in size 2 so I might go for a larger mop this time :)
I use Princeton in different sizes up to 10 and one inch hake brush. A rigger too which is my favorite.
I've never tried Princeton brushes but I've heard good things about them.
@@JayNathanWatercolor I like them but I don’t know much about other ones anyway
Sarah Cray from Lets Make Art has a favorite brush bundle and she likes the Softaqua Quill 6.

Beautiful friend,great sharing☺️☺️...

would it be possible to tell me the total length of no. 2 and no. 4? i am curious if they would fit my watercolor case
Yes of course.
Number 2 is 19cm long.
Number 4 is 20cm long.
@@JayNathanWatercolor cheers for that!
You are very welcome
How much price of these brushes plz tell me
I got them from here:
hhkartandpaper.com/en/shop/raphael/พู่กันมัดลวด-softaqua-รุ่น-805/
Plus they are on sale at the moment 😃
i was looking for a review on these and you came up haha~ did they discontinue the 3/0? i can't find it anywhere D:
HHK is out of stock? Maybe call them and ask? The only other place I know has them is Blick but shipping from the USA probably won't be cheap.

@@PaintinHiding it's almost like Raphael don't want artists to use their brushes 🤣
@@JayNathanWatercolor probably so 555 im sure it’ll turn up on jackson’s sooner or later 😄
I don't know. Jackson's don't seem to sell much Raphael.
