Brandon, that is the most noble thing I've ever seen done by a car dealer!!! I am an old dude and the stealership crooks would never share anything, but a bunch of lies!!!
You are awesome and much respect for your transparency, integrity and honesty!!! Even if people think the price is high at least they know how their money is being spent. I think it's great and wish every dealership would do. I believe they would sell way more cars, because people wouldn't hate the process and know how much goes to dealer and would shop more often.
Honesty is rare in this industry. Hats off to you Brandon.
Great job with Brandon's transparent selling of cars. It is missing from Dealers these days. All the dealers now play the added fee game to see if you are sucker to pay for it.
Ray talking about “Soft Launches” and “ Not pleasing everyone” has me 😂. Totally unintended is sometimes the best humor 😂
Launch proud, Ray!
Launch Proud !
If I lived near Brandon’s area, I would definitely purchase from him. It is refreshing to see someone who is honest and transparent, Brandon would definitely have my business. Now Ray, he looks shifty. 😂💯
CQA the absolute industry disruptor the auto industry was missing. Thank you guys for getting this going definitely the way car buying should be.
I would invite anybody who thinks Brandon is trying to rip them off to go down to a dealership and spend the eight hours of misery with all the hidden fees and garbage fees that wind up making the car much more expensive than he’s selling it for here. I appreciate his honesty and transparency, and if he stocked the car that I wanted, I would absolutely buy it. I’m down here in Florida too.
Guys, GM is selling vehicles it cost them $20,000 to make for $50,000 or higher. WHAT'S SO SURPRISING, THEY CAN'T LOSE.
15% margin is not unreasonable, great job Brandon
Assuming the numbers are accurate, the $3k that Brandon takes also needs to cover his costs and expenses beyond the car itself (employees, overhead, etc.).
This means he's not profiting $3k but should be in the over $2.5k range.
15% on a used car is very very reasonable. The haters need to realize that he has rent for his lot, employee wages, etc

Yes
I LOVE the TRANSPARENCY of your partnership. It is so refreshing to see such honesty in the car business. Thank you gents.
When I traded my 2019 Honda Civic Si in for my Infiniti Q50 I got $21,000 trade in. They turned around and sold it for either $26,000 or $27,000 to the 20 something year old young man who had been looking at the Q50 I bought but his insurance would have been too high on the Q50. So they had 23.xx-28.xx% mark up to my car. This mark up is not insane and it is warranted imo because of how transparent you are being about everything. Plus, you can probably negotiate some if you want. 🤷
My Q50 still had all the paperwork in it from the previous owner and is how I found him and was able to reach out to him to ask him certain things about the car as well as to purchase the Weather Tech floor mats and some other items (like the BC Coil Over spanner wrenches, and so forth).
So people thinking this is abnormal or out of line with what flipping a car is, well, I guess ignorance is bliss?
If you ever decide to get a new car in the future, follow Brandon's advice, sell the car you are going to trade yourself. The money the dealership made should have gone into your pocket. The Infiniti is a nice ride. Enjoy.
That’s the price they sold it for and then they added a whole bunch of other fees like reconditioning fees and dealer, service fees, and inspection fees and all the other garbage. I bet the guy paid 40% mark up.
Brandon , although in the end it would cost more to purchase a vehicle from you there are a couple of things. #1 you are trust worthy and so paying a bit more is well worth it in my opinion !!
What scares me with used cars is not knowing the maintenance history. Newer car engines with there low tension rings, direct injection and variable valve timing are really susceptible to oil sludge and carbon type failures. To buy a used car on line seems especially crazy to me.
Cleanest cars in the country come from the southeast. Thats where Brandon is. That deserves a premium on price when you live west out in the desert where every car gets either sandblasted or hail. Let alone the salt belt and northeast. His cars are worth more on a national level.
Correct, though I think your appraisal of the Western US might be a little harsh. Haboobs/Sandstorms aside, I assume many/most folks garage their vehicles to keep them out of the INTENSE heat out there. Best thing about Western-owned vehicles is that there's just no rust/corrosion. We don't have salt here in the Southeast US (which is great) but we do have some coastal areas that are susceptible to tropical storm-based flooding. Even in the Carolinas.
I resided in Eastern NM for nine years, and thunderstorms almost always produced hail. Hail damaged vehicles were ubiquitous. Moreover, tire longevity was shortened (i.e., premature weather cracking in the sidewalls) due to intense dry heat and the extended Summer months.
Easily worth 1,000 more for the reasons you mentioned.
FINALLY! Well done guys! MY next car will DEFINITELY be from Brandon!
Amazing that CarEdge is giving Brandon this opportunity. I enjoy the live auctions and Brandon walking the lots. Smart!
I sold cars for about 15 years, we had a system called "The Shopper Stopper" that was real transparent like that, had everything broke down
I love what you guys are doing!! It's going to be alot the competition hot about this, wishing you all the best!! ATL in the house!!
..."repos?" Har! thanks to Branden, here in my 6K pop. town, everytime I see a purple, or green or bright orange Charger/Challenger scream by I go to myself ~ "There goes another repo!"
"392 credit score, right there on the side of the front fender."
P.S. Applaud both platforms for being so transparent!
No surprise that GM made record profits filling dealer lots with cars that the majority of Americans can't afford. The big question is what happens in Q3 or Q4 when dealers can't take as many cars from the OEMs. Losing market share has to be a huge red flag for investors.
love the website and all the car details...I checked out all 3 cars....hope you add more Honda, Toyota, Acura vehicles
Dad embarrassing the 'kids' gotta love it.
It's nice to see how much He loves His son !
This is a revolutionary breakthrough for car buyers.
I love this !!! Car buying should be open and transparent!
I love this! Brandon needs more buyers.:)
Awesome job.Guys straight up truth no bullshit God bless guys.
Good stuff Brandon. Hoping this is a success for all involved.
Analyst here: So it is pretty common to sale off on good news, especially given 100K vehicles going into a softer market with things cooling off from the the post-pandemic highs
You rock Brandon!!!!!! ....Ray & Zach you rock too .:) Change the industry!!!!
Awesome soft lunch Brandon. Good luck with your transparency in selling quality use car 😎😎👍👍
Keep doing what your doing folks, it’s incredible and I really appreciate the content!
We need a Weekend At Ray's [Bernie's] show with Ray, Zach, and Brandon!
Saturday is my birthday. Make it happen!
Some people will never understand all the costs, including your time, that you have to put into your dealership. They only show their ignorance to everyone except themselves. Good luck and I hope you are an amazing success.
No one seems to talk about the fact that as things grow worse and worse economically in western countries, that people are becoming poorer and poorer and no matter what people want, what they actually need are not expensive trucks, SUVs and electric cars, people actually need inexpensive, reliable gasoline powered sedans. Why doesn't anyone talk about this? Maybe that's only the corporate world but here in the real world we need cheap reliable sedans. We just bought a Corolla, the best selling ice car in the world because that's what we needed and that's what we could afford.
Every buying situation is different. I'm happy to say there's still a place in the auto buying market for people seeking out exactly the kind of vehicle you're describing - even if those vehicles have to be bought used.
Apparently NISSAN is having trouble selling their new 2024 Versa's with an MSRP of under $18,000. Sure, crappy (auto.) CVT transmissions, but the Versa is also still offered with a 5-speed manual. It's not all black and white out there.
Because very few people even know what they need. They associate their desires with need. They justify and rationalize everything. The truth is, however, a full size truck could be sold for the same price as a nicely equipped large sedan but the American psychology is that if something is bigger then it's worth more so trucks have become the most profitable vehicles in the history of automotive sales.
Such a great and simple concept 👏🏻 this needs to be industry standard. Great idea guys!
I live in New York. Also a 15 yr car guy we never made $3500 on a used car unless you clubbed someone over the head. Unless that includes shipping any were on the United States. Most used cars we would sell we would make $1200 to $1500. Sometimes $2000 if lucky. I think Ray can even agree with this. Unless I am missing something with this partnership. Why can’t we just go back to the way cars were sold prior to Covid and in the early 2000’s. Another thing Brandon‘s philosophy was to make
$1200-$1500 on a car why now parting with you is he doubling his profit
Do those profit numbers you mention include the bogus up-to $2500 "reconditioning" fees that dealerships claim they have on all used cars? It is amazing how they claim that it costs them $1000-plus to change oil and wash a car before throwing it out on the lot.
@@chiplangowski3298 years ago we did not do the shady stuff dealers do now. We did not charge the reconditioning on top of the price. Everything was figured in our cost then marked up to give us a little wiggle room to negotiate the price. Only thing was added was tax, title and license. And a 75 dollar doc fee
Wow!
Way to guy guys, your names will go down in history!🤩
Like the Titanic
Are car prices still so crazy high that he pays at auctions what KBB says a car should retail for? I thought he would get a better deal than that. Now a customer will have to pay 5k over what a vehicle is worth. Specially i looked up the HRV LX awd value. Car market is ridiculous
Good morning great idea … I’ll keep looking for a vehicle that matches my needs . Do you have plans to have more cars available?
I wish Brandon, Ray, and Zach all the luck with this new venture; however, I think the car is a bit overpriced. I did a quick search of 2022 HR-Vs under 30K miles and most come up under $24K. I think Brandon and CarEdge need to reduce their intended profits.
might agree BUT it is pre inspected??
Love this!! And great work gentlemen!
Great partnership and transparency!
Great to see this team up with Brandon and CarEdge
Great idea to work with Brandon (also Subscribed). I will be watching.
Ray, it’s not too much. Great transparency.
Nice job Brandon Zach. Thanks for
Dealers have done this before. 10 or 15 years ago dealers started showing customers "invoice" price...the problem is, most of them were lying and hiding margin.
How do you demonstrate that your cost is your actual cost?
Zach, Ray and Brandon Great Job, so Happy for you, plus the Car Edge Guys offer an extended warranty, I hope your endevor takes off and you can expand to other states.
Man,you gent's are the creme de la creme in car business, I will surely buy from Brandon. NOT THAT OTHER LET'S GO BRANDON 😅😂❤😊
@RayandZach ->-> Thank you for Addressing GM Earning. I just couldn't believe. Granted, Wall Street is always playing the Game of comparing Qtr. Earnings to "Lowered Expectations".
My truck is at beck chev in yonkers ny and the parts guy told me that they had shifted to ev s so much that their small car inventory is way down. They only have a few new small cars on the lot and their used car lot way less cars in that lot than normal. Also no more lines for service there are barely any cars going t the dealer for work.
Shop rates/Repair costs are through the roof. Which is why it's URGENTLY important in researching and knowing the vehicle model you're considering buying. While you can't guarantee zero problems, you can steer clear of known frequent problems by choosing a reputable year/model vehicle.
Lets see, on a $20,000 car sale, you make 15%, and Car Hedge makes 2.5%. If I was Ray and Zach, I damn sure would narrow up that spread. After all, Car Hedge has a reputation worth more than that!
Earnings are backward looking, stock prices are forward looking.
GM keeps increasing dealer inventory but at some point the dealers will say no mas - then GM will see the sh1t hit the fan.
Still targeting year end for my purchase.
Wow I am just SHOCKED and STUNNED
This is a GAME CHANGER! haha
Brandon is going to blow up. Bro thank you ry for being a gem amongst rocks. You are exactly what this world needs. Thank you bro i cant wait to buy a car from you.
Caredge + CQA = 🇺🇸Freedom
Wow, way to go guys! Great service for us all!
Way to go Guys. Love the transparency.
Thank you so much! We’re committed to keeping things transparent for our community. Your support means a lot to us!
Go CQA How will you provide factory warranty on each car? Doesn't that mean all your cars will have to be under 75-100000 miles?
Gotta keep those shareholders happy!
All that matters!
People used cars are a gamble I worked at a Honda dealership and I doubt if they spent 15 mins on the honda certified vehicles I sold one that I told the used car manager had a bad tranny and we sold it anyway they do nothing on certified pre owned other than hope.
Brandon and Zach’s face when Ray makes his “soft launch” comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey guys! Have a wonderful day ❤
Nice service.
nice job guys, also a big fan of brandon.
What about the ratio of gov sales vs consumer sales. I bet gov sales are rising and consumer sales are dropping.
Guys, if not test driving a car and buying it online, Carvana would not be business. I would have no issues, but I did buy my current home with out seeing it until closing.
No Nitrogen in the tires .. No doc fees your just paying my auction fee , My Pre purchase inspection - any Repairs done to the vehicle .. then I forgot, my detail team LOL
You seem to think this disingenuous, none of these items are unexpected for a sealer to charge and are all what you want as a buyer.
so he should pay all that from his mark up? wouldn't be worth his while to bother.
lol I can see why you watch car edge now, Your paying his detail team , Then your paying his mechanics , then your paying all the repairs like come on . Vehicles should be cleaned upon delivery FOR FREE. Then they should be made Safety OK’d FOR FREE.
Then I mean come on , Paying the auction fee like you were the one actually there bidding. It’s the same stuff they tell you not to buy but they ‘make it make sense’ A dog is a dog no matter the breed
Your dad is the coolest....yea I'm 67 ....he's cool...
What is the auction fee on that listing? Then the inspection and repairs, seems like all costs passed off onto the buyer, what actual value is the seller (Brandon) providing? Seems like a middleman fee...
It’s because GM, just like the other auto manufacturers, is over pricing by $20,000 on their trucks!!
Curious, How much does GM make selling customer data? Anyone know?
GM has great earnings, they raised their dividend in 2023 and 2024 and have repurchased $10billion in stock and have just authorized another $5 billion going forward. GM has dramatically reduced their EV program yet the US Government is giving GM $billions in grants to expand EV production??? So GM is using the government money to repurchase their own stock??? WTF?!?!
Was this “sell in” or “sell through” was this an increase in units or an increase in prices?
I'm not going to pay for a dealerships overhead. Why should a buyer pay for preparing the vehicle to sell? So if I get my vehicle an oil change and detailed, washed, waxed, etc will I get more towards trade in? I highly doubt it.
Really great work guys. Love this sales model
Why aren't prices coming down at the used car dealerships?
They are, though slowly. I keep a casual eye on 4-5 used Asian models nationwide. Just kind of a hobby. Prices have come down considerably since the peak pricing in 2023. I've never met anyone who didn't feel any particular used car "should be cheaper". Human nature.
Stock market is interesting. Sometimes earning differ from expections, either high or low. Sometimes "good news is good newa, and bad news is good news". Other times "goog news is bad news, and bad news is bad news". We've been in +3 bull market, but maybe that is changing? Maybe traders listened to the call and didn't like the marketing spend, indicating a softening market going forward. GM was at a 52 week high, so maybe the market was expecting a perfect report, which it didn't get. That's what makes markets so much fun LoL
Brandon should include the average selling price so that folks won’t get hung up on Brandon’s profit of $3k.
It’s 21k…… for the car they are trying sell for 24k + shippingwhy would he put something to show how much of a ripoff it is
EXCELLENT GENTLEMEN!
I think we will see things improving all around in and around Nov. 5th .
Very nice concept!
The market is forward looking, so reactions are more about the future outlook compared to expectations
Yep, in general stock prices are based on expectations of future earnings, not current earnings (unless current ones surprise and change expectations of the future, good or bad).
have question about Rays soft launch. lol.
When Brandon is on the show, under his name, put "Car Questions Answered." Subscriber of his channel. Thank you.
you picked very difficult cars to make resale work. these cars auction value and retail value are very close together not much room for expenses.
Yep. 19k MMR(wholesale) and 21k COX Retail on that first car they are trying to sell for 24k before shipping and TTL. Bad cars they decided to get. 2k spread in the normal market, but they are trying to get a 5k+ sprewd
Great news, if I need a used vehicle I'll be looking here first.
Brovooo, transparency.
To calculate margin multiply a number by a %. To calculate margin divide a number by a %. Margin is always a larger number. Stock market is irrational goes up if more buyers goes down if more sellers.
Zach said GM stock was down? It's actually up 21.67% this last year.
CQA & CarEdge 👍
Deliveries are not sales, just bankruptcy for dealerships.
Stuns the industry - first thought, did they make a reliable vehicle for a reasonable price??
I was thinking of the SHOCK when Chevy put the legendary "Blazer" name/badge on a crappy front-wheel drive hatchback.
I love both of your channels, but how is being honest and transparent earth shattering?! Good for guys! You all are going to be rich! You can thank these ridiculous stupid car dealers for this opportunity…
You're still going to get folks to try to lowball you. Most customers are just programmed to negotiate. But it's a great service for those who understand it.
Hey Brandon... could look for a low miles, 4 or 5 year old Grand Caravan. I'll buy it from you.
I like and wish you good fortune with you new venture. A note: Color on the hood on the Honda HR-V LX looks off. Lighting?
Bring takeout food to the dealership when making a final decision to buy.
Salesmen hate it, because the whole sales floor smells of food. Then say you're still not sure.
Pisses them off.
Canned sardines &
Salt/vinegar potato chips
Didn't Brandon had a video yesterday saying not to buy from him?
