Please learn the origins of this song as the Sunshine version is not original. Please listen to Samuel Barber's "Adagio For Strings". It's been in some of the greatest movies ever. Often tauted as the saddest song for strings ever. But if you understand music theory, you see the tragedy and sacrifice followed by constant building hope that never disappears.
I dunno. Maybe Bryan Tyler - Summon the Worms is pretty good... I love this one though. You'll find it in the trailer for X-Men Days of Future Past, too.
This genuinely deserves to be recognised as one of the greatest pieces of music ever written. So glad James Gunn is working with John Murphy so maybe more people will discover his work
The composer of this movie also murdered it on the kickass sound track. Maybe two of the most underrated sound tracks ever. Flight home from kick ass is a banger.
Forget all the remixes and pumped up shit you have heard over the years...THIS was the Adagio in D Minor that I went to the cinema way back in 2006 to watch. I had just split from my lovely wife and I missed her so much. But my youngest son came with me and we watched it together and ever since then I have just learned to appreciate what I have and not would I could have had. THIS was the film and music that changed my life. I just appreciate every morning that our beautiful sun rises above the horizon and the birds start singing and everything just feels much happier and brighter and well I just love our beautiful sun.
"I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers' flames, their denizens fading without so much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and razed in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart devoid of emotion... of empathy. I. Have. Felt. NOTHING. A million-million lives wasted. Had they all held within them your tenacity? Had they all loved life as you do?"
This is from the movie sunshine, moving song from a brilliant film with a cast that are now all hollywood superstars . They tried using it in wonderwoman/xmen to replicate that subconscious goodwill from sunshine hwoever in general music from hanz zimmer films are never repeated. Its sad they repurposed this had it been by zimmer they wouldnt have. Watch sunshine even to this day it stands out just as good as any new sci fi show or film.
The lyrics "Only dream I ever have...the surface of the sun. Everytime I shut my eyes, it's always the same" is from sunshine the movie. Its an amazing watch - Cassie is the one that says it in sunshine but she also plays moira mctaggert in xmen. The song is good anywhere it is used but it was made for sunshine. You need to watch it to understand.
This piece never fails to give me chills. John Murphy truly captured the essence of hope and despair in this masterpiece. - Listen to my rendition of this music on the piano
Jor-El : [bidding his son farewell, as Lara looks on] You will travel far, my little Kal-El. But we will never leave you... even in the face of our death. The richness of our lives shall be yours. All that I have, all that I've learned, everything I feel... all this, and more, I... I bequeath you, my son. You will carry me inside you, all the days of your life. You will make my strength your own, and see my life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father, and the father the son. This is all I... all I can send you, Kal-El. [as Clark discovers his heritage, this is his father's final message to him] Jor-El : Live as one of them, Kal-El, to discover where your strength and your power are needed. But always hold in your heart the pride of your special heritage. They can be a great people, Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you... my only son.

I'm writing a story called Sunshine 2 Flight of the Icarus 3. Original opening: "Our Sun is dying. Mankind faces extinction. 7 years ago, the Icarus project sent a mission to restart the Sun, but that mission was lost before it reached the star. 16 months ago, I, Robert Capa, and a crew of 7 left earth frozen in a solar winter. Our payload: a stellar bomb with a mass equivalent to Manhattan Island. Our purpose: to create a star within a star. 8 astronauts strapped to the back of a bomb. My bomb. Welcome to Icarus 2." My story opening: “Our Sun has been revived. Mankind has been saved. 2 years ago, the Icarus 2 successfully delivered its stellar bomb payload, even though the delivery cost the ship itself and the entire crew. 14 months ago, I, Julius Grande, and another crew of 7 left Earth now thawed from a solar winter. Our mission: study the Sun up close and land the first group of humans on Mercury. 8 astronauts strapped to the back of an artificial bomb. My artificial bomb. Welcome to Icarus 3.”
I find this was lifted a bit from damage inc. by Metallica...the intro that cliff was doing for a minute before the song itself started.,. either way I still love this piece
