Just get a gen 1 V strom and learn to ride. I went to buy a WR450R once, a mate said to me, "buddy you don't have the skills to take even the 250 R to its potential. Don't spend the dough on something you can't use." He was so right. And I see this all the time on youtube vids, particularly the ADV course videos. Guys spending big big bucks thinking they can be Adam Reimman, but in reality they ride like Dolly Parton. And yes, I still have a Gen 1 V Strom. It gets me everywehere I want to go offroad, and any expensive electronics would be wasted on me.

I've locked up my rear break, rally mode and off-road mode disables the rear wheel ABS. I locked mine up because a guy stopped in front of me and I was going way too fast to stop but thought he was going to turn in front of me, so I locked it up and slid on my side to a stop on gravel.
I have ridden those roads numerous times on V Storm 650, DR 650, KLR650, TDM900 & Versys X300 and bicycles. If you took the turn to Wards River, you could have seen the lovely lady who runs the Cambodian Street Food caravan cafe. The food is amazing.

Looks like your mate just couldn’t feel the back brake and locked it up on rall mode. New bike, might need to adjust the lever. Gotta stack it sometime so it may as well be the first ride I guess. Alls well that ends well.
That makes no sense. The amount of brake fluid between the master cylinder and the brake calliper doesn’t change because you’re removed some brake fluid out of the reservoir. If this is a new bike I would say he’s not used to dirt roads or he’s not used to proper dirtbike boots.

I was using the Skydio beacon but I had to connect with my phone app to land it. I see you mentioned you have a controller on the way but maybe that will help if it happens again, if that is an option with the DJI
Ide love a skydio unavailabe her in aus what sucks about remote is it was faulty from day one i didnt know until brett said thats damaged as mine started up with a glitch i thought it was normal as its done it now for near 2 years ...his has never glitched hell its now a year out of warranty hence new remote live and learn

Unfortunately Skydio has stopped public production and is only marketing to law enforcement and first responders. They will still warranty the remaining drones they sold but, no more for us little folk. So i have been looking to get one like yours in the future.

Hey Tim!! Yeah I'll own this one! This was all me. The bike had nothing to do with it. I had a heavy right foot and paid the price. Coming off the DCT I didn't even think of the clutch. Touch lesson to learn but certainly a worthy lesson!
Awe not to be harsh but that's adventure riding! Gotta agree with one of the comments about all the ride aid electric crap, takes all the adventure out of adventure riding. Maybe try standing when you get into the loose stuff, you will have more control of the bike that way. I even have that problem and still working on it. Have yet to drop it at speed but in the back of my mind I know it's coming. Only hope not to mess my bike up too much. My friends tend to go all out everywhere we go and I like to just travel and see the scenery with the occasional blast down a road. Kinda no fun when you're haulin ars and miss all the beauty.
Im old school all that electric stuff is off on my bike been riding over 40years was introduced to abs on my 2003 gsa1150r turned it off 1st ride on thr dirt every moder bike its off .....100% not out to race all about views and taking it in
Which Motoz Tractionator tyre were you bagging out? I've only heard good things about them, except that while the Tractionator Gps will see you back home without a tyre change on a long tour, it can be quite sketchy on loose gravel/wet stuff.

I had the Tractionator GPS on the Africa Twin but found it very slippery and wasn't happy with the traction on gravel or mud. Made the change over to the Rallz and that thing is a beast!!
@@ADVBrett I've been very happy with the Motoz Rallz. Great on dirt and gravel. Don't know about mud. Pavement they seem perfectly fine and they last quite well (890 ADV R).

Hey Paul, I flicked it into Rally mode which turns it off automatically and what I should have done is gone back into the settings and re-activated it within Rally mode. My mistake, I take ownership of that and learnt a hard lesson from it.
Good one guys your adventure bike hasn’t gone off road till you drop it. That’s why I don’t recommend big heavy over powered expensive motorcycles off road.

You can see the revs fall to zero the moment it locks. Having just come off a DCT bike... Looks like a brain reprogramming is required. Pulling in the clutch would probably have fixed it.

@@ADVBrett it's not surprising. Most of what we do is programmed in. So it's not a mistake. A bit of time back on a clutch bike and it will be second nature again. I switch back and forward between an electric and a petrol without a problem now. The first couple of rides I was going for a clutch that wasn't there on the electric and stalling the petrol bike.

My norden 901 had excess brake fluid out of the factory. Wanted to put my over the bars if I looked at the brakes. Removed some fluid and AOK
